  • Welcome Kristi. Congrats on hitting the 160's.

I'm at the lower end of the 160's and was hopping to drop the last pound, pound and a half this past week but the holiday parties have not allowed for that.

Thanks! Yeah, I am surprised at my will power these last few weeks. There are cookies and treats everywhere but I am staying in control this time. I never thought I would be able to actually lose weight during the holidays! Two more weeks of the "food" season to get through...
  • I was at 165.6 today for weigh in. Sorta wierd, since I lost two pounds between Monday and Tuesday of last week and then stayed at that level for a week. Pish Posh, 2lbs is 2 lbs. Working to hit 163.6 by next week. Amping up cardio by 10 minutes per session, drinking more water (I faltered on that at the end of this past week), and adding an extra vegetable snack to my daily intake.
  • Congrats HOPE! The same happened to me. I lost 3 lbs in a week and have been at 160.5 (with slight fluctuations up but never busting below the 160.5) for this last week. I did have a bad weekend and there are plenty of desserts in the office to keep me from getting into the 150's. I'm really hoping to get there by the end of the week with stricter dieting. I would just like to see 159.5 on the scale. Is that asking for too much?!

The good news is . . . the people I work with are noticing I'm losing weight. My boss and one of the managers both complimented me today on it. My boss said I looked great and much happier. The manager asked what I was doing to lose it. I am definitely all smiles this morning.

They did just put out some awesome looking chocolate cake. I am going to get a small bite of it.

Sorry for the excess of emoticons. I'm just in a good mood.
  • Wooohooo! Back into the 160's (barely) as of this morning. 169.6 but hey, I will take it! Definitely motivation to keep going.
  • Hello 30-something 160-ers! I am new to 3FatChicks and this looks like the perfect string for me. Getting out of the 160s (the good way...159) has been a struggle for me. I am determined to break the cycle of getting stuck here and then slowly gaining again. Will be here for a while but when I leave, I hope to never need to come back again! (Surely, you understand!)
  • Nice to see some more 30 something - 160-ers.
I weighed myself today at my mom's house and am happy to say I broke through to the other side (159). Since its not my regular scale and TOM, I'm going to do an official weigh in at the end of the week. I go for eye surgery tomorrow and I can't do any strenuous exercise for 5 days. I feel like I'm making a bunch of excuses not to leave the 160's. I guess since I haven't been eating right and only just started again with exercise I'm afraid the number on the scale is not true. I will be back with an update.
  • Hey 160'ers!!!! I weighed in on Christmas morning at 169.4 but I was reluctant to call it til today because the next day I was @ 170 again. But this morning I was at 169.2 so I'm calling it!!

See you around for the next ten!!!
  • 165.4 here and NOT happy about it, I was at goal this time last year
  • Congrats SunnyDC and I'm sending you 150s vibes, ja2ma6lee.

    Nice to meet you both!
  • Dang holidays! I bounced back up to the 170's for a few days over the holidays but am happy to report a 168.4 on the scale this morning. Woohoo!
My goal is get down to 163 by the end of the month. Keep up the good work girls!!!!
  • Today is my first official day of trying to lose weight (went to my first WW meeting)

I am 161.6 and aim to be 135.

I am sooooo overwhelmed. There are so many inspiring stories on this site. It is truly amazing.
  • Woo hoo! Down to 164 this morning- over the 160s hump. My body is turning into a fat burning machine- lets do this!
  • Hello Everyone and Happy New Year

I am back to posting in the forum. I have seen a few days out of the 160's. I'm going to do an official weigh in at the end of the week. I went to the nutritionist yesterday and I'm ready to start the new year off right with eating and exercising.

I actually went to two nutritionists. The first one referred to herself in the 3rd person. I was really confused. The second was really nice and had a lot of great energy. She is also located a few blocks from my office so I am going to stick with her. We meet for almost 2 hours. I see her again in 4 weeks and she gave me her email incase I had questions. She really stressed the importance of having a carb and protein together. Sounded like that help with losing the weight in my stomach. Also how to count carbs and keeping it to 30-30-45g per meal.

My work out buddy didn't make it to the office today. I'm going to have to motivate myself to go. Then I'm going to the grocery store tonight with the BF. I am making my list now.

2011 is gonna be a good year.
  • Sounds like you are on the right track! Would LOVE to be able to work with a nutritionist, but with all the studying I have done and my stubbornness I would most likely just argue with them :-)

I went shopping with my BF tonight too, funny because I have started the "whole food" or "eating clean" way of life and always thought that it would cost a ton more than buying junk food. Funny thing is that my groceries were quite a bit less than his share and I got more food! Woohoo! Another plus to eating right and taking care of myself!
