Myisha: What a wonderful story! So often we leave God out of our lives and we forget how good He is to us. He does care about us and what happens in our lives. Thanks so much for sharing that!

I have been struggling with self confidence this week at work. I had a couple of girls complain to me about how things were being run and I took in personally. It was really a problem I couldn't do anything about but took the blame anyway. I was really having a hard time going to work. Then, I read in my devotions about the Isrealites who got enough manna for each day. This was a good lesson for me to realize that God gives us enough strength to make it through each day. I have taken that promise and made it mine.

Anyway, after talking to one of the girls today we ironed out a lot of the problems and now hopefully we'll have a much happier place to work. I have so much to learn but now with god's help I have more confidence to be able to do it.


God is Good!!

Well, I have slipped into a busy mode. My 11 yr. old races in a derby, which is a traditional small town thing. We have a huge hill, in the middle of town, state road and once a year they shut it down for this race. His dad raced, my oldest raced and even my daughter. So right now it's practice every night, so I will try to keep up here.
Please pray for my youth group, we are going to leave here in a few minutes to head up to Spirit Song at Kings Island Ohio, for two days..yikes. It should be a wonderful experience, but again 20 Jr and Sr. high students.
I will catch up on Sunday.

I'm a newbie and have enjoyed reading how encouraging and supportive your group is.

My attempts at losing weight have been rather on the slow side, if you know what I mean. Motivation and will power are the two biggest obstacles for me . That and a somewhat sedentary job.

There's no scale in the house so I haven't a clue how much I weigh.

Got any suggestions?

klynntx.......don't worry about not having a scale, I threw mine out a few years ago, on purpose! It would be so discouraging to me to **know** that I'd lost size, but the scale wouldn't show it, or worse, would show a gain. I couldn't handle that, so am going strictly by size, measurement, and especially by how my clothes feel and look. That is the ultimate, right?! So..........I started out 2 weeks ago in a size 18, which is feeling loose now. I'll take that anyday rather than only a .00002 loss...........(if ya know what I mean!)

Klynntx~Welcome!!! And of course you can join us, please do. I agree with jayne, don't worry about the scale or the number. If you want to have a base weight to go by, go to a friends house and use their scale, but then i wouldn't obsess about it. Perhaps it would be more motivating for you to weigh once a month, just so you know what the number is, but i agree that it's more important how you feel and you'll know when you are losing.

Have a busy weekend scheduled, working this a.m. then i took a phone shift for the crisis line 2-5, then i have a graduation party at a coworkers house. Tomorrow i'm going to church with a new guy i met named Barry, then we're going walking at the park(he's a big walker), then lunch and then the movies maybe. I'm looking forward to it.

Wilma- prayers things continue to improve at work! That is hard being in charge!
Tricia- I'm sure you will have a great time with your youth group I know I always do, it has its challenges, we went to N.J. on a missions trip with 19 teenagers in April. They sing songs and perform skits ect. we got o nursing homes, retirement homes and even a couple christian schools and some churches. Wishing you the best.

Ladies, thanks for the welcome, advice and encouragement.

Actually I haven’t worried about a scale in years. The last scale we had was an English scale and it measured in stones. It was actually more comforting because one stone = 14 pounds. So the numbers were small in size…
Maybe there should be weight loss scale which tracks whether you can fit into your clothes…loose, down one size, clothes falling off, time to buy new ones…etc. Personally, I would just be grateful just to fit into the clothes I already have. I resolve to persevere!

Jayne4God ~ I know exactly how you feel…I have loose days and tight days… I prefer the loose days!

Welcome to all the new chickies. I need a couple prayers from you great ladies - Even though it was quite a funny story about me falling off of my exercise bike, I am now paying for it. I woke up today barely able to walk. My lower back on my right side is really really hurting and with my dh going back to work on Monday it will be so hard for me to take care of my tribe - Please pray I feel better by then!

It's very hot and humid out today so we've been relaxing indoors in air conditioning comfort. We went to church this a.m. and then to the Olive Garden for lunch. Then we came home and watched The Notebook. I'd never seen it and loved it. Even DH liked it. We're expecting company for coffee tonight so the day will be well spent.

I would like to ask for prayer for the next two weeks especially. I have a lot of staff on holidays and it'll be really busy which makes us all a lot more stressed. Please pray I'll make it through without too much anxiety.

Lori: My prayers that you'll heal fast. I have no doubt you're sore. Take care of yourself!

klynntx: I agree with you about the scale. It's much more important to go by size loss and also attitude about yourself. Love yourself for who you are not your size.

HI GALS

We have been in Kennewick safe and sound for over 2 weeks now! House is just like we expected...really loving it! The weather has been great too...one MAJOR problem!!! I miss my kids so much!!!! Amanda flew up this week-end to visit for 3 days but I just sent her back home on the plane less than an hour ago...Ryan too busy teaching summer school to visit and Lara will be here in August after her school trip to Germany is finished.

We have had trouble getting the DSL-Cable...TV...Phone...going...won't go into details now....but basically we were "bait and switched" and didn't fall for it...then changing to cable the worker can't seem to "complete" the job...anyway on dial-up now ...I had over 200 e-mails and all but 3 were SPAM!!!

Not sure what is going to happen here...I may head back "home" soon and leave Angie here until the 3rd week in August...not sure what is going on...work stuff!

Will never catch up but I want all MY GALS ...you know who you are...that I love and miss you and am praying all the time for your concerns! To the new ones...WELCOME!!

Have to go...but I want to tell SAMI how sorry I am for Pepper....and also LORI ...my mom, sis and grandma live in Bloomington...sounds like it may be close to you.

Gary: It is SO GOOD to hear from you again. I was just thinking about you and Angie today and wondering how things were going. We miss you here.

I forgot to mention my weight loss in my last message. I lost 2 lbs. in the last week. It's finally going down again. It seems I sit there for a few weeks and then it drops. As long as its dropping I don't mind how it goes.

I have a busy couple of weeks ahead of me so I need to go get some sleep. Please keep me and my sanity in your prayers.
