  • Chelle...yes those electrodes are marvelous, I had no idea how marvelous. Still a bit painful, but nothing like it was.
  • Afternoon all,
Trying to get a half hour lunch break here so I am writing to you. So far today I have not managed to finish any of the coffees I have made. The cold water has turned room temperature and I haven't had time to go to the loo so things could be getting a bit dodgy round here shortly.

Annie - nice to get some pain relief. I've been scoffing panadol all week to try to stave off this flu and headache that seems to go with it. So far it is working. However, the drug company must be making a fortune on my purchases.

Michelle - 3.30 starts I thought my 4.30 wake up call was bad. *bows down low in admiration*

Mel - happy jama day. I think my DS2 will be doing the same. Hope Jen and Richie have a good break in Florida. Seems a bit over the top for a party but who am I to say! Before I forget, look for a envelope in your post box in the next 10 days or so.

Laura - At last, someone else who fails to set recording devices properly. I'm about to start looking at what to plant shortly. I'll plan it out soon. We don't start planting until around July - which, yes I know, is the middle of our winter, however it gets too hot for salad veges in summer and what the bugs don't eat, the rain gets at anyway. When I was digging in DS2's garden over the weekend, I found a tomato plant growing away, so I have put it in a pot and will transplant it to my garden this weekend - even tho it is a bit early.

Happy and Ceejay I hope you are enjoying life. Sounds like Happy is from some of the facebook photos.

I don't know whether I mentioned it or not, but the DS2 got thoroughly fed up with his job and handed in his notice. Wednesday (yesterday) they paid him out and told him to go, escorted him off the premises in fact. So when I got home, I got the news that he is umemployed YEEHAA!!!! His notice has been in for a week and was set for three weeks hence.
Anyway, as we were saying last night, this is the first time in 15 years that he has never had a job to go to. Normally he leaves one job for another. It will do him good to have a bit of a break and get things done, like his taxes for last year! and getting the rental house cleaned out and sorting out any maintenance on the other house. Personally I am delighted that he has moved on from this job. Sure the money was good, but the company has a habit of killing it's workers (3 over the past 4 years) and maiming a few as well and they don't seem to learn from their mistakes.

Anyway - half hour is well gone. I'd better get back to putting bums on seats in classrooms. Not that whatever I write will prove to be fact on the due date, but I do like to try.

    See you.
  • Hugs Worldly Chicks!!!
  • Today's an insane day here...already, and I got here an hour ago at 4:30. Not sure if I'll even get a quick break to weigh in...maybe if I combine it with a loo break (no not on the scale)!

Shad - So glad the DS2 has left that dangerous job. Money doesn't make up for loss of life or limb.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

    Love and hugs to all,
  • Morning All.....

Shad....DS probably needed the break. Probably saved his life by resigning. He will find better placement that will suit him soon. I can see not getting the coffee in due to workload, but really Shad..the loo. You best hit the loo, don't want to get bladder infections from holding it too long.

Chelle...Take that 5 minutes to go weigh in. You need that to keep you motivated and honest with yourself. Sides I am excited to hear your WI news. Don't work too hard.

Hollster..hello my chickadee, hope all is going smoothly in your world, my friend.

Amy Grant's new song is so peaceful. I love it. Better Than a Hallelujah.

Not much going on here in this rainy gray Indy town. Bleck. Supposed to be nice this weekend. 75 and sunny. Havta work Sat but not Sun,.

    Hellos to all

    Love and hugs
  • Shad – Gosh, you and Michelle are so busy you’re not taking bathroom breaks! If my job ever became that way on a regular basis, I’d be looking for another job! Speaking of jobs – wow, ds2 up and quit! You’d think a company would appreciate the 3 weeks notice given by a voluntarily terminating employee and use the time wisely to help the transition. I guess that isn’t the style with his former employer. But I’m sure this will be a good decision for ds2, because you said he was so unhappy there. Life's too short!! Nice you have a foundling tomato plant - wonder what type it’ll turn out to be. Besides red, lol.

    Holly – Hello!

Michelle – I agree w/ Annie – take time for the weigh in and the loo break! Another early day! Take care of yourself.
Annie – After all the rain, chill and wind this week, I’m crossing my fingers for a nice weekend too.

Hellos to Mel, Happy and Ceejay. I’ll have to get on fb to see what Happy’s up to on vacay.

Really stormy and rainy throughout the night especially very early this morning. It eased up around the time I had to get up and shower - I've heard one shouldn't use the shower when there's thunderstorms. I was lucky on my commute – no rain on either end of my train ride. Last night I did one BE show, then a set of 20 knee pushups, and a few reps on the Ab Slide thingy.

BF and I watched American Idol last night. The guy from our suburb made it to the final 3, so all the events planned for Friday are a go. There’s a parade at 4:30, so I’m going to take a half day off work to attend that w/ bf. I think there might be a LOT of people – the one-hour concert being hosted by the horseracing track in a neighboring suburb (our town doesn’t have a large venue like that) reportedly “sold” out of 30,000 free tickets in 12 minutes! We have other plans for Friday night, so we didn’t even try to get tickets. But I’m sure the parade route will be mobbed too. Bf and I live close, so we’ll be walking or cycling over. Should be exciting. I've read people commenting on news articles about how their commute will be a horror - c'mon it's one day, not months of road construction!! Be happy for this guy, and take the opportunity to forget your troubles (and the nation's and the world's for a short time!

That’s about it for now. Finished my one meeting scheduled the day and I’m having lunch w/ a work buddy shortly.
  • Went to WW just to weigh in. Not good. I gained back the 0.8 that I lost last week. Oh well, at least I know why...I haven't had time for much Zumba. Next week will be less crazy.
  • Chelle...that is ok. Kick it in the arse for next week. Baby steps my sweet sista!!
  • I've had a busy day at the cardiologist and ear nose and throat doctors. The cardiologist scheduled an echo stress test. The ENT wants to schedule surgery and after I've seen the x-ray's of my sinuses I'm in agreement. He wants to schedule an MRI also so after that I'll schedule the surgery.

    Shad
Yeah for the ds2. Enough is enough already, which is the way i feel about my job sometimes. You need to schedule youself a break.

    Michelle
Wow you have a busy work load too. Sigh on the .08 pound gain, but that will come off next week.

    Annie
Good to hear that your arm is mending.

    Laura
I was eaves dropping in the ent's waiting room this afternoon. Three elderly women were talking about American Idol. For some reason I haven't gotten into this show. I've always heard that we're not supposed to take showers/baths during a thunderstorm.

    Howdy to Mel and Happy.

The weathermen are predicting thunderstorms over night but so far no tornado warning or watches.
  • Afternoon all,
Lunch break again, and I have been a bit naughty. I wanted something other than my tomato and salmon wholemeal sandwich so I went out and got a couple of bits of sushi. Now I will have to be good tonight to keep within my food budget!

    Hiya Holly

Michelle - I'm not surprised that you have not lost this week. It must be very hard trying to balance work with all its stresses and home life and keeping up with the house etc. Even with DMIL there to help out, it must still be hard. You will get there. And anyway, you don't get the second half of the Worldly surprise from Mel until you get there. That should spur you on.

Annie - yes ma'am, I am going to the Loo - in fact I will go as soon as I get off this page. You work just as hard as we do, just that you have 2 jobs. This job is the easiest I have been on for years as far as hours go. I just don't know if I will get it all done in the time available.

Laura - the DS2 will get something. He isn't desparate as he has his rental income to fall back on should he need it and he has a nestegg tucked away as well. Besides which, he has kept me, when I have been out of work. It won't be too much of a hardship to do the odd thing for him. We have a good working relationship even if we don't talk that much about these things.
The tomato may well be green or yellow or black. We have several different varieties here now. I'm picking it will be a normal red, but we will just have to wait and see I guess.

Got home last night and the DS2 was ready to go to tennis with the tech head who looks after our computers. I asked if he wanted dinner but he said he'd wait to see whether he wanted anything when he came home. I was so hungry I ate anyway. It was a lovely salmon fillet which I had with salad and a couple of baby potato that were hanging about. DS2 cooked himself cheese on toast later.

So the joys of Inventory await me. I'd better finish my coffee and go sort it out.
  • HAPPY FRIDAY....I CAN'T READ THE SCREEN YET. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A CYST IN THE RIGHT EYE FOR A CHANGE. BUT IT'S GETTINGBETTER. I DID GO TO TRADER JOE'S AND WILLY USED MY LIST TO HELP ME GET EVERYTHING I NEED. HE'S MY EYES. JEN LEFT THIS MORNING. SO IT WILL BE A QUIET WEEKEND. I'LL TRY TI GET BACK HERE IN ANOTHER DFAY OR TWO.
HOPE TO CATCH UPWITH YOU ALL THEN
  • Happy Friday -

It's been a tiring week, but hopefully I won't have to work this weekend. The stress at work has been insane. I've been putting in long days and have been busy every evening. Last night, when I got home after work and after a meeting with a website client, I pretty much collapsed. Next week, my life will get back to normal...which means more time for Zumba. I am SO looking forward to getting back to dancing away the stress!

Ceejay - You really did have a busy day! I've had nasal surgery, and I've heard sinus surgery is just as painful. Hang in there worldly sister. It is risky to take a shower/bath during a thunderstorm...if the lightning hits near the house, an electrical charge can come through the water. We've had a rainy week here (with t-storms on Wednesday night), but this weekend is supposed to be nice.

Shad - Is sushi really that naughty? I always thought it was low in calories and fat. I am definitely motivated to get to ONEDERLAND...and I know I will get there, hopefully by the 6/20 deadline...or shortly thereafter.

Mel - I feel so bad for you. You have such a time with your eyes. I hope your sight improves soon. Glad you got everything you needed at TJ's. Lots of hugs to you, sweet Mellie.

I gotta get started on my projects. I'll try and check in later and this weekend.

A big to Holly, Patty, Annie and Laura!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

    Love to all,
  • Good Morning My Worldly Sistas.....

Talked with my dad last night, he was feeling a bit lonely so I invited him out to dinner tonight. I will go by and pick him up, don't know where we are going yet and I am sure it doesn't really matter.

Got my flowers REPLANTED in my front flower bed, one armed and all. The seeds I planted about 4 weeks ago did not come up AT ALL. So I planted the same type of flowers as the seeds just in case they decide to come up it will all look nice.

TGIF fo sho! I love Fridays as it is casual day, jeans and flip flops. Brought 5 recycle cloth bags full of my parent's old papers for the shredder bin. Iron Man (name of company, not the real Iron Man, lol) comes in once a month and shreds for us. Glad to get that under my belt.

Chelle...glad you can get back to a normal week next week then you can ZUMBA away, Miss Queenie.

Shad...Your day of eating didn't sound that bad at all. Really it sounded quite good and nutritional, on track. Pat yourself on the back.

MELLIE...so sorry about the eyes, my sista, I miss your humorous posts. Feel better.

Ceejay...sinus surgery is very painful so I hear. I do not care to personally experience it, but if it is necessary then go for it.

Laura...I just cannot get into any of those reality shows....American Idol included. I guess maybe if I knew someone on it I might be intrigued to watch.

Happy...hope the vacay is going well, it is almost over, boooooo!

    Hellos to all....

    Love and Hugs
  • Not much going on this morning.

    Annie
It's sweet of you to take your dad out to lunch.

My main thing today is to go vote early. Tuesday is election day but since I work that day it's hard to get off.

More later. Have a good one.
  • Hi everyone - Happy Friday!

I caught the 12:30 train home and bf and I took doggy for a walk. Now we're about to head to lunch and maybe some garage sales before the AI parade at 4:30.

Ceejay - Wow, a doctor day yesterday. Did you vote today? I probably wouldn't watch AI if bf weren't such a fan. I don't watch until their down to less than 10 finalists. And nothing much happens in my 'burb, so this parade is sort of exciting.

Mel - Hope the cyst heals quick. Take it easy. God bless Willy for helping you shop.

Michelle - glad you'll be back to normal at work next week. Forgot to mention I got a 30% off card from Kohl's in the mail earlier in the week!! Hope it didn't expire yet!

Annie - Have a nice dinner w/ your dad.

Shad - I wouldn't think sushi is high calorie, even though I know certain fish are fattier than others...Nice that you and your son are there for each other. I forgot about the other tomato varieties - yellow, orange, etc.

Well, we're off! Have a good weekend everyone.
