Ladies, You are all so wonderful....just wanted to let you know I am about to lose my job and am freaking out. Dieting has gone by the way (weigh) side. I haven't felt much like posting, as I am in the "woe is me" syndrome. I cannot seem to snap out of it. I am cranky, weepy and a mess. All I can think of is trying to support me and my kids. My brain is full and about to explode. Sorry to unload and thanks for listening.

OH ANNIE - I'm so sorry! You are right! Sometimes we have to put the weight loss on the back burner to take care of more immediate crises. Just don't turn to the food as a source of solice. (That's one of my issues, emotional eating.) Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Girlie - hang in there! I hope you feel better soon! I've got my fingers crossed for you on that job interview.

Holly - OUCH! I hope your husband is ok! That HAD to hurt! My foot hurts just thinking about it.

I'd better sink my nose back into my books. This week is bound to be a killer. I'm excited though. Tomorrow I'm meeting with a dietician at the clinic. I've been wanting to do that for a long time. I'm just hoping she doesn't nail me for what I'm eating. I sometimes pick calories over healthy foods, but I do take lots of vitamin and mineral supplements, so maybe she'll see that I'm trying.

*hugs Annie* I'm sorry to hear that about your Job. It may not be any comfort now but I belive things happen for a reason and that if you do loose this one it may be bcasue there is something better waiting for you. It may be that it is a much better job for you that you would not have considered had you still been employed at your current place of employment. I know its scary trying to think about how to support for yourself as well as your kids but just know that God never gives us more than we can handle.

Girlie--Planning snacks is a good idea. I need to do that myself that way when i want a snack I will have something thats good for me within reach. ANd I have to admit that I too used to eat in bed...I used to be really bad about snacking at night. I have since stopped eating in my bed....and in fact don't allow food in my bedroom and only allow bottles/glasses of water. I still watch tv in here though I turn it off before getting into the bed....which does help me to sleep better. I sut in my room before bed watching programs that the rest of my family does'nt like or want to see...so I let them watch the tv in the living room and I watch it in my room. I also brush my teeth immediately after dinner....for some reason once I brush them I know I am through eating for the night.

To everyone else know That I am thinking of you all and that I am proud of each and every one of you!

Annie: I wish there were something that I could do to help you in this situation right now. I'm sure you are freaking out! I would be. These ladies have said some great things to help you to deal with it all. Can you sign up for unemployment? At least it would be something coming in, while you looked for a new one. Do you have any vacation/sick time left that you can be paid for? Let us know how we can help.

I'm happy to report that I had a 1.5 loss last night!

I'm still tired but I'm planning a long nap tomorrow when I get off work. The housework can wait until I get up. Right? We had plans with some friends Saturday night, but I decided that I've been running around to much so I asked if we could reschedule and they were fine with that. Sometimes it's best to say no.

Tonight I'm being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. It's the National Honor Society for my school and I feel really honored that I was asked. You have to have a grade point average of 3.75 to get invited and you have to maintain a 3.00 to stay in. My brother and his friend are coming to the ceremony, as well as my friend Ann and of coursed my husband.

Annie, I'm sorry about your job. My company has had many cutbacks this year and I'm very blessed to still have my current job. *hugs* you will get through this. We're here for you!

Me...I haven't eaten anything today. I can't. My mouth hurts too much. Today, my mouth is swollen and it hurts when I swallow...my appt with the oral surgeon isn't until Thursday and that's just for a consultation and xrays. I'm thinking about trying to come up with the money for the actual surgery and try to get it done that day. How scary, I've never had any sort of surgery...I have to have all of my wisdom teeth pulled. I can't bite down and I can't eat and it really sucks because I want food. When I get home for lunch, I'm going to try some applesauce since I don't really have to chew that.

I hope this gets better soon!

I was down 3 by my scale this morning.I have been 234 every morning for weeks. I was 231 this morning!! I have definitely not been eating as much. Not necesarily the best foods but much less in general!
Hubby is till living on the couch. It is a cold, rainy day.No plans for tonight. I will be taking my son to hockey all weekend.We are going to a dance Sat night. I am off shortly to get hubby some crutches.

Hi, Girls! It's been a crazy week here, too. I was a substitute teacher today for a kindergarten class and they kept me running all day! Literally! Then, got home, did laundry and left for ds baseball game. Very tired, but didn't eat all that much today.
Gotta do Boy Scout stuff all weekend.

Holly-3 lbs!!!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!! Hope Hubby is doing better. Should be an interesting dance with him on crutches! Have fun!!

I know I've missed a few of you and I'm sorry, but I'm in a funk right now and need to get ready for work tomorrow. I had an appointment with a dietician and got my butt chewed out for being on the Atkin's plan. I felt like a little kid being scolded by my mother.

Good morning Ladies,
I'm working this morning. It's my day to come in and answer the phones. I'm planning on getting my company's Holiday party invitations done today, so that I can mail them out next week. Can you believe the holidays are already here?!

My program and induction was a lot of fun last night. I can't believe that I was asked to belong to a group because my GPA is that good. I never believed something like that could happen when I decided to go back to school.

Speaking of school, I have a lot of homework to get finished this weekend, so I know how I'll be spending a lot of it. I'm actually trying to get ahead, because I go out of town to a 3 day conference the second week of November and I know I won't have much time to study then.

My computer is still down. I'm expecting to get it back next Friday when I see my brother again. It's not been to bad because I've been able to check things here at work, but tomorrow I won't be able to join you all here. Also, I won't be here on Monday as well. I'm taking a vacation day. A gf of mine and myself are going to go shopping and see if we can't knock some gifts of our lists! If we find something great; if not, that's ok too. It's nice to spend times with friends.

My hometown is expecting a vist from President Bush on Monday. I've thought about going out to the rally. If I'm going, I have to go and get tickets today. It's going to be something to experience; history in the making. When President Clinton was running for his first term, his campain tour came through our town and I went to that. I got a really good picture of him as he was coming up the courthouse steps. I like history and it's fun to think you are a part of it.

I'm planning on getting in a workout on Sunday. Also on Sunday I'm planning on sitting down and listing my goals for the month of November. Anyone else planning on doing that?

MyChoice - I agree with you. What I find so puzzling is that so many health professionals only read the induction phase of Atkins and do not look at the long term theory behind it. This dietician was telling me about individuals who made their cholesterol worse on the diet, but the book clearly states that it takes at least 6 weeks for your body to adjust to the diet and the cholesterol to go back down. I asked her if she could hold the plan responsible for individuals not reading the entire book and understanding the importance of following things like enough water intake. She couldn't answer my question. Don't get me wrong, the plan isn't for everyone; but then, no plan is. We all have to find what works for us, but if I've lost 76 lbs since April of this year, DUH!, the plan is obviously working for me. And the kicker is that my cholesterol has gone down to boot! I'll wait and take it up with my doctor and see if there is someone else I can see. She's not worth my time let alone my copay.

sorry i haven't been around much this week, i have just been in such a funk. dh worked out of town and there was just too much stress to deal with the whole diet thing. we just went out for a nice dinner (dh and i) chinese buffett tho, i ate way too much. i am back on the wagon tomorrow for sure i have my plan all mapped out.

holly congrats on the loss!!! i was a chocoholic yesterday also. the kids came home from school with a ton of good halloween treats, i just couldn't resist!! have fun tonight!!

mychoice- congrat to you too on the loss and the honor!! that is just fantastic!! seeing the president is something to experience. both bush and kerry have been spending alot of time over here on my side of the state. heck john edwards teamed up with bon jovi for a big rally over here tonight. have fun with your friend shopping monday!! i like the idea of goals for the month of nov. i seem to have let all my good intentions go this week. i'll try to come up with a list too.

labchick- do what you think is best for you. i also think she was very unprofessional, as long as your colesterol etc is ok there should be no problem. sometimes i don't think others realize how hard it is to find something that works. what might work for one person might not be someone elses cup of tea. you seem to have found you thing so as long as you are monitoring your bloodwork and health don't let one uninformed person make you feel bad. good for you sticking up for your plan. maybe talk to your doc about getting referred to a dietician that is a little more open to your plan.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop by and let you all know I have'nt forgotten about you all!! Its just been a pretty hectic weekend with all the halloween parties going on. The kids (my niece and nephews) brought home bags full of Candy Fri from school but so far I have been able to resist the urge to eat any candy.
Tonight we are taking them to a community thingy and they will get even more Candy......which I will have to keep myself from eating. The bad thing is with me I know I cannot have just one piece and be happy---no if I give in and have a piece then that'll turn into several pieces of Candy before I am through. I can't do that so I just have to keep from getting into the candy.

I've done really good staying OP and getting plenty of water. My sis lives with me right now and she sleeps in the living room which is right by the kitchen...which helps me b/c with her there I don't want to go to the kitchen at night b/c I don't want to wake her up. The only thing I keep in my room is bottled water....just so I will have something to drink if I get thirsty at night...which I usually do.

I've also began watching my portions....and instead of having say 2 plates of food at dinner.....bad but I've been known to do that in the past....I just have one and I watch my portions. I'm determined to loose this weight and as long as I continue on the way I am doing now and belive in myself I know I can do it.

I almost came here and posted last night but at the time i was incredibly pissed off so I just signed offline instead. Having someone Stereotype and make judgmental comments about people she does not know then suggest that a freind of mine as well as others were "Rats" just did not sit well with me. For those who don't know a "rat" or "ringrat" is generally a female who sleeps with the wrestlers....any wreslter for that matter. They don't care so long as they are with a wrestler. None of my freinds and i are like that at all..sure we love to see our faves and chat with them and all....but it never goes beyond that. I've turned down offers and so have some of my freinds....
not because I did not like the guy but b/c I refuse to put myself in that situation.
This girl went on about how the guys only wanted beautiful thin women and on and on.....sure some are like that...there are guys like that everywhere....but I am overweight and I have been hit on by the guys....so obviusly not all of them are into the thin beauty queen look. I was even told by one that he prefers "real women" to the artificial barbie doll like ones. I'm sorry I should'nt be posting this here since this is all something to be dealt with elsewhere but I just needed to vent a second.

Its raining here and has been all day! I wish it would stop sometime soon. I wanted to go out and walk today but thats out of the question since I don't wanna go for a swim. I have done 20 min on the exercise bike so far today and plan on working out to my taebo tapes here shortly. One way or another I gotta make sure I get my exercise in.
