Vonni, times like this I'm very happy to be single! I don't know how people do the whole marriage/living together thing - I just haven't ever met anyone I could put up with for that long! I'm sure hubby is trying to be supportive, but he has got to realise if you don't feel good about yourself then it doesn't matter what he says. At least he's trying..?

Sorry to hear that you've broken a rib Ani - that's a bloody painful injury so make sure you take it as easy as you need to. Hope the new flattie turns out to be ok too. Any chances of finding a cheaper place to live when you have to move so that you can do away with housemates all together?

I weighed in on Saturday and was down 500g which I was stoked with. Unfortunately on Saturday night boredom got the better of me and I hit the town with a friend = drank too much and ended up having fish n chips for lunch yesterday to feed the hangover gremlins!

So, goals for this week:

1) Stay away from alcohol and have a quiet night in this coming Saturday
2) Stick to my points every day
3) Exercise at least 5 days

Today my work is starting a 10,000 step challenge so we're all wearing pedometers and I think that the idea of competing with my workmates will be good to get the motivation up to do well with exercise.

Lets make it a great week ladies!

I was 84.7kg this morning - a drop of 0.3kg. I'll take that, all things considered!

This week's goals are to:

• Eat around 1400 calories/day;
• Drink 2L of water every day; and
• Aim for at least 84.3kg next Monday.

Julia there's not such thing as a place cheap enough for one person to live in Perth - not unless you want to live 200km from the city. Almost everyone I know, who has been living alone, is now sharing because of the cost!

Oh well! I got up at 6am today and my new housemate has already left for work - so that's a big point in her favour already. I get mornings to myself

Ok, as much as I didn't want to, I did jump on the scales this morning! I am very, very disappointed in myself! Not to mention very disgusted!!!

I am up 1.8kg!!!! I am seriously hoping that most of that is because most of last nights disgusting feast is still sitting heavily in my stomach!! Ugh!! I am so annoyed with myself!

Seriously back on track today!! Seriously plan to make it through this week with no major stuff ups!!

Lots of water, no more than 1500cals a day and some form of exercise in the evenings!! And I will post here every evening!!

Now I gotta go to work and pretend to be having a good Monday!

Aw Lindor, don't be too hard on yourself. A gain is what it is and it's not the end of the world. Just try to get back on track today and aim to be in good shape for next week's weigh in.

Lindor it's as frustrating as **** when you put weight back on, and feel like you're bouncing around the same few kilos over and over again. It's what I've been doing for the last four months - felt like I've been on a b1oody trampoline: up/down/up/down…

The thing that's tough for you (and me to a slightly lesser extent) is that you've been losing weight for a long time now, and it's really tough to keep motivated and strong.

BUT

The only alternative you have is to put the weight back on that you've lost. I KNOW you don't want to do that.

Maybe it's a good time to remind yourself why you're losing this weight, what benefits you feel now, and what benefits you're looking forward to when you lose the next few kilos.

A friend of mine is a great believer in setting SMART goals (it's an acronym for small, measurable, achieveable, realistic and timeframe), and I think it works well.

Sorry, I'm rambling - I'm in a fair bit of pain and am waiting for the Panadeine Forte to kick in. Really useful for getting work done when you're head feels like it has detached from the rest of you - NOT!

i am going to try the celebrity slim diet.... i'll let uall know how it goes (obviously) and i am not proud of it but as you have all kinda mentioned i am just in the totally wrong mindframe and it is not good for me or baby so at least once i try this i will feel better

I have no idea what the celebrity slim diet is about, but the word 'celebrity' makes me skeptical! Just keep an eye on things Kel, don't go depriving yourself of the good stuff!

Ani, I have heard of that SMART thing before, but I had forgotten what it stood for...which wasn't overly 'smart' of me. Thanx for the reminder.

I am coming up to two years since starting this battle - less than twelve weeks off. I have decided that if I want this second year to hold an 'achievement' I'd like to be down at 82kg. That way I can say I have managed to maintain for a year! Anything under 82kg will be a bonus!

I have no holidays planned this Xmas/NewYear so there should be no reason to fall off the wagon to any extreme! A work trip or two might turn out to be a bump or two in the road, but I will face them when/if I come to them. With any luck I have learned a lesson from the week just gone!

I was good today, just under 1500cals, 1.5L water, and I played with my resistance band for half an hour this evening. I am happy with that.

I am hoping for at least a 500g drop this week and a 1kg drop by Nov 12. That is my SMART goal for now

I WILL post again tomorrow and I WILL report another good day!

Lindor I think it's a testament to your strength that you're coming up to the 2 year mark and you're still at it. That's great.

I keep a star chart on my lounge wall to keep track of how many times each week I exercise and I looked back on it last night and was amazed to discover that I've exercised consistently for the past 5 months. I've also written down everything that I've eaten with only 2 days off since mid June.

I've read loads of times that the best way to lose weight is to change your lifestyle and it's only just occurred to me that that's what I've done!

Went to the gym last night and did an hour of cardio. Clocked up just short of 13,500 steps on my pedometer which is cool It'll be interesting to see what my colleagues do as I'm sure I'll start to get competitive. Already one has said that she did 17,000 yesterday. Grrrr!

and celebrity slim= yes dodgy but as for the celebrity bit seems like the only person they have advertising it is a loser from biggest loser some chick i have never heard of. my friend has just lost 9kg on it and i am just doing it coz it seems a little more 'mainstream' dodgy than optifast which is 'medically' hardcore
and as i am still breastfeeding i didnt want anything too hardcore and i am planning to eat well during the day (i am allowed carrot and celery and nuts and stuff) and have a 'balanced' meal... they have recipes of balanced meals on their website
the only bummer is it is ONLY sold at priceline so i have to go find my local!

Kel, what is your goal in trying the Celebrity Slim? I mean, feel free to tell me to shut up, but I just don't understand the logic. Yes, you'll lose weight taking shakes instead of food, but then when you stop them and eat again, you'll just gain it back. I mean, there is overwhelming evidence that these crash diets don't work.

So what are you trying to achieve that healthy calorie counting won't achieve?

i need the rapid loss you get at the start of these fad diets, i need to get rid of 5kg faster than i am with the proper lifestyle diet..... i have chosen celebrity slim as it only replaces 2 of my meals... i know i can lose weight with shakes diet, basically it takes the decisions out of what to eat for brekky and lunch for a while.
my logic with this one is that i will still be eating food, you still eat one balanced meal a day (usually dinner) so i wont be totally out of practise when it comes to maintaining
i also realise it is cheating big time and may end in tears but for a quick loss of 5kg or so before xmas i am willing to give it a go!

2 days down no cheats, but I haven't exercised much other than walking dd to and from school, but at least its something. I've been very tired and I think its all the glucose being used up, soon my body will start using ketones for energy and I'll feel great again. Low carb is the easiest way for me to lose weight, apart from my craving for something sweet right now!! Argh!!!

I did Tony Ferguson for a while last year I think, yep September 2006, I remember cause we went to floriade when I was doing it. I liked the shakes as long as I was making them with really cold water, and I did lose a little weight on it, but it was too high in carbs for me. Whilst they advertise as low carb, and for most people it is in comparison to what they normally eat, for me its not low enough to stabilise my blood sugars. I did love that it took the effort of thinking about what to eat for two meals a day.

But now on low carb, I feel there are lots of options to choose from, including low carb desserts. Not that I'll go overboard on them, it does help to have something to fall back on. Pity I did't pick up some cheesecake ingredients today. I could do with some right now.

Now I know I'm going to go pretty much fine for the next 8 days doing that, but day 10 is usually the day I break my diet, so I'm going to need everyone yelling at me and keeping me accountable. My aim is to get past one month doing this and to continue until I lose my weight.

My first goal is to get below 88kg. I'm 94.8 last time I weighed, which was last week.
