  • Junked four garbage bags full of nasty fat clothes!
  • Going thru my stacks of magazines and realizing that I don't know why I kept them for so long. I'm about halfway through my stack of maybe 25 or so and so far I have cut out about 5 things! Such a waste to space to keep those things. I think I need to read my magazines once, then go through them again and pull out anything I want and then toss the rest immediately!!!
  • Lizzi , that is what i do, i have a folder seperated into sections and after i read the magazine i go back and get the article or recipe ect. .that i wanted and cut it out. every so often i weed through my folder to get rid of what i don't want any more but it sure helps not having tons of mags laying around.
Ellis : all right i have gotten rid of just about everything in bigger sizes but for some reason have all my old stretched out t shirts that i hide in and i know i need to get rid of them just can't bring myself too.
  • I've got a big bag of fitness mags in the trunk of my car. I keep meaning to take them into the gym where the bikes are. There's always a need for reading material there.

Heather, dump the T-shirts. You may keep one.
  • Way to go Sweepers!

Good going on ditching the fat clothes ellis! Now empty your trunk of those magazines!
  • Adios Stuff!
Ok, I finally got off my butt and started listing stuff on FeeBaY again. I know I know... it's slow de-cluttering, but at least I make some $$ off of it and I still get rid of it. Right??
  • Ellis, only 1? how to choose gratful dead, jimi hendrix? oh decisions decisions.
Noodles now i gotta take a peek, i just love bringing home other people's clutter. lol gives me something to do.
  • One type of clutter that is such a challenge for me is the dreaded

    PAPER CLUTTER

It takes sooooo long to go thru even ONE pile. You have to look at each little piece ....read just a bit....decide if you have to do anything about it now......either throw it away.....or else file it.

At least other clutter is BIGGER and if you throw away one or two pieces you see the difference. With papers it takes so much work to see an actual difference. OK I got that out of my system for now
  • Heather, I also have TON of teeshirts. Just can't seem to toss any of them and now my chest is overflowing. You toss some and I will too, okay?
  • Bye Bye Fat Clothes
ELLIS That is terrific about ditching the FAT clothes. Congrats on that!

And congrats for being able to fit into smaller sizes !!! --Pookie
  • Okay, last night DS knocked down the pole in his closet SO I ended up tossing 3 special occasion suits/dresses, 4 pairs of his pants and several shirts. This is going to be a tossing stuff out weekend, including (if I get my nerve up) fat clothes.

    Tiki
  • Thanks, Pookie. I only WISH I was fitting into smaller sizes. I'm still the same, but I had a LOT of ugly fat clothes. I've restricted myself to about three pairs of pants and a dozen tops. And I'm NOT buying any more fat clothes! This is IT!! It's down or nothing!!
I'm with you re: the paper clutter. I'm a file person. I've got files from YEARS ago that I haven't looked at in ages. If my house burned down, it might be a good thing.
  • Oh I wish I had a file cabinet or folders or something! We have a big cheerios box that we shove all of our work check stubs into and another big box that we have all of our other paperwork in. We do have two expanding files for the more important things, but they just float in the big box. And you know what's really really sad about that??? We organized it and it's improved compared to what we had before!!!
    File cabinets are expensive dammit.
  • Hi Oregon Trail lizziness,

I am by NO MEANS an expert on this topic. But one thing that has helped me is that places like STAPLES / OFFICE DEPOT sell cardboard files cases.

When you buy them they are completely FLAT. You just put them together the same way you would a regular box. They give you some kind of plastic strips to put on both sides of the box. They are called something like PORTABLE hanging file holder or something along those lines. Since they are cardboard they are very reasonably priced as well.

Then you can buy those Hanging Files with the little metal hooks on both ends and they slide along the 2 plastic strips and you can use them for filing lots of important papers.

When I am not expecting company I keep them out so they are handy for filing. When I am expecting company they are light enough to pick up and put in the bottom of a closet or under a table with a long tablecloth or in a spare room. They also come in a plastic version. But the plastic version cannot be folded. --Pookie

"I HATE to clean" --Pookie/ There- I admitted it out loud it feels good to get that off my chest
  • Tiki : I am trying. really i swear but no matter how holey and stretched out i think they still have life left in them yet.
