I feel so much better now than my earlier post (I was somewhat bitter about my weight and BGL this morning). Well, my insurance didn't cover my nutritionist, so I cancelled the appt. and went to Barnes and Noble instead. I bought The Corinne T. Netzer Dieter's Diary. I already planned my food intake for tomorrow at 1380 calories (figured that would leave room for some extras)/ 32g fat, which is basically cereal for breakfast, ham sandwich and apple for lunch, Arby's roast beef sandwich and side salad for supper, plus two granola bars for snacks. We'll see if I can stick to it, but I really liked planning my day in advance and looking up all the calories and fat. I feel encouraged, like I have some control over the situation.

Also, one of my coworkers used to be in the military and does this 5-part routine every day at home - i.e. reps of jumping jacks, side bends, push ups, sit ups, and one other I forgot - and he is very trim and has been doing it for 20 yrs., so I tried it and liked it - it's easy(ish) and free.
JEANNE: Happy Birthday. That is so sweet about your son and husband. You are a truly blessed lady!
MONET: Thanks for the Sugar Busters link, I'll check it out. Sounds like something for me - I was also looking at the Carb Addicts diet. Also, I'm sorry about the kiln mishaps. I remember how disappointing that would be when I used to work with clay. Now I just use Sculpey and bake it in the oven.

MEOWEE: I love EASY recipes too - something I can throw together after work that takes less than an hour. Please pass on any ideas you have. BTW, What is a sticky?
ROSEY: Thanks for all the insight. I might try Curves if this military workout doesn't work out.
I agree with you, this is a stress reducer. As soon as I finished my calorie count for tomorrow, I was so excited, so I had to go online and share! Thanks everyone,
Misa

MISA -- Glad you are feeling better about everything now. A 'sticky' just means a methodology for keeping a thread at the top of the forum list so it doesn't drift off to a second page and get forgotten; i.e., it is 'stuck' in place. When you look at the Diabetes Support main page now, there is a thread for RECIPES at the top of the page. BTW, regarding your meal plan, it's great that you are planning ahead . . . only thing I might suggest is more vegetables . . . I find they really help to fill me up.
Made me nervous everytime I had to get on it.

I got insurance approval to restart my medical fast so I begin in January. In the meantime I'm trying to avoid "last meal syndrome." So hard to do during the holiday season.
for everybody else wherever you are and whatever you're doing. Keep moving and shaking, gang. See you soon . . .
I need to check my bg...ACK! Its 63...no wonder I feel nauseated! I start feeling ill after about 70. Off to find something to raise it quickly.
