Good morning! I am also new to this forum (joined yesterday). 3 years ago I weighed 207 and couldn't believe it. I went out and bought some Leslie Sansone tapes and some light weights and started walking. I also eliminated pop from my diet. Over the next year, I lost 26 pounds and was thrilled. Then my sister got married (in Sept '03)and, according to my husband, I lost my reason to lose weight. I don't know whether I agree with him, but that IS when the weight started to creep back on. In December '03 I convinced him to buy a treadmill, which I used faithfully, without much change. Then in April '04 I joined Curves and lost 8", but not much weight. Then my life started REALLY getting in the way of formal fitness and the weight and inches returned

Earlier this month I weighed in at 218

and decided I HAD to get serious about losing weight and getting healthy for ME AND MY KIDS (and my husband, though he loves me just the same). I have walked 41.5 miles so far this month. I turn 39 on Monday (Aug 1) and my long term goal is to lose 40 pounds by my 40th birthday. I have lost 2 so far.
I am a high school Spanish teacher, so life is about to return to chaos. I start back on Aug 19 (though I will probably have to go in on my own before then to get everything done

). My own children, (daughter, 11 and son, 9) start back on Aug 24. My husband commutes an hour each way to work, so "Mom's taxi service" is always running.
I have found much motivation, encouragement and friendship from forums like this one and hope to do the same here.
Have a wonderful Friday!
Michele
