Rosa just called from the stable, she had the farrier out today, and he checked Shadow's hooves. We figured he'd only be able to do the front, since she's been lame she won't let anyone touch her back feet. Well..... he discovered why she's lame!! The timing was perfect. She has an UGLY absess that just surfaced probably yesterday, and he was there to take care of it. Woo! He cleaned it out, trimmed the hoof way back (not pretty, but she'll be ok), and now she's in a stall till that thing heals up a bit more. It will be probably another week or two before she can be ridden, depending on how fast it heals. What a relief that it wasn't something more serious!! Yay!! I can breathe again! *dance*
Tracy - Sounds like you're enjoying a little alone time there, girl!! Good for you! I can't remember the last time I didn't have either a kid, two kids, or a boyfriend, a dog, or all of the above nagging at me for some attention. Alone time .. would be kind of nice once in a while. Good luck on the interview! Let us know how it goes!
Sharla - I love Wal-Mart, too! That and the Dollar Store. I don't know how I'd survive without them! Now if I could just get them to sell frozen rodents, hay, and crickets, I'd have it made!

Jolly - I know it's really hard to want someone special and not know when they're going to come into your life. You know I e-mailed you about that already. It's hard to be patient and wait. But I believe you will find the person you're looking for. It might not be on your timeline, but it will happen. Like I told you, I was over 35 when I met my BF online, and I sure as heck didn't expect to end up moving to GA to be with him. But here I am, and my life is SO different than I could have ever imagined. Hang in there, lady.
Well I know my day will be far more relaxed now, knowing our baby Shadow will be alright now. I hope everyone else is having as good a day!

I tend to try to name a dog (or horse, or cat.. or kid?) after some characteristic of theirs. Like my little dog - when she was a pup she had this rolling walk like a little bear. Hence, Ursa Minor. When the big dog came along, I couldn't very well name HER "Major" (a little too masculine) so we went with the woman in mythology who was thrown into the heavens to become Ursa Major, and her name is Callisto. My horse is cream colored with white mane and tail, and a white blaze, with ice blue eyes - he looks all about ocean froth and storms, so we went with the japanese for storm spirit, and he is now Arashi Rei. Has a nice ring to it when you're hollering it across a pasture.
Names are such an individual thing. I'm sure you'll find something that fits her, and is uniquely hers!

Chiropractor for the horsie, huh? Think he could squeeze me in??
Is your horse any better? I read you were having some problems with his health, but hopefully that will get better soon. How long are you going to be up here for? Are you going to bring the kids? Details, woman, details!! I'll get you my phone and email addresses soon so you can have a way to get ahold of me.
I'm so excited!
- Hope the walkthrough is a GREAT one! *says prayers to the refrigerator gods to provide for you before the deadline* Geez girl be careful hauling the heavy stuff with that sciatica playing up. You don't want to do any more harm! I wish my trip up were for a happier reason, I'm looking forward to meeting you, definitely! And to seeing some friends I miss so much, but at the same time trying to prepare myself for seeing my Dad. If I don't bawl like a baby, I'll be amazed.
