I hope everyone is having a better day today. Gosh, so many having health and family health problems. My heart goes out to you all.
Jess, I'm glad your treatments are doing you so much good. If you have to suffer through them, then at least it's worth it if you get benefit from the pain.
Lynn, good outlook. No sweets for today, then do it again tomorrow and before you know it, 3 wks will have gone by and they say (whoever 'they' are) that if you do something for 3 weeks it becomes a habit. Good job!
Carol Sue, I wish the very best for you and your DIL. How old is she? It sounds like she must be at a pretty young age to be developing a tremor.
It may be that the dosage of Synthroid is too high for you. Before they radiated my thyroid, I slowly lost a tremendous amount of weight, without trying, this all happened over about a years time, and I was working and going to school and a lot of other stuff going on at the same time, so I thought it was just because I was so very busy. But, then I started having extremely heavy menstruations, and in between, and everything seemed to be happening at once. Then I started having spells where my heart was pounding and I was having extreme dizzy spells, to the point that I had to pull over when driving and finally at work one night I thought I was going to pass out. I called the Dr and he said to come in. They ran a lot of tests and it revealed that my thyroid was producing twice or more the normal amt of hormone, and they found nodules on my thyroid. They discovered I had Graves disease and toxic nodular goiter, so they radiated my thyroid and it no longer functions at all so I'll be on synthroid or levothyroxine the rest of my life. So, if you have an excess of thyroid hormone circulating, it can cause dizzy spells. They'll probably reduce the dose or take you off it.
Rosey, I've never before heard of anyone coughing up their toenails.
I do hope the meds they gave you are working. Nothing worse than having difficulty breathing. You are an angel for trying to give a home to a pet. He was marking his territory right away, but you wouldn't want a dog who pee's all over your house. How old is the dog? Maybe the owners don't know how to house break a dog?
Gayle, hope you're enjoying your weekend away from work. Some days I wish I were working yet and some days I'm so glad I don't HAVE to be anywhere at any specific time. When all is done with my house, I think I'll look for something to do a couple days a week. No volunteer yet because they're calling all the time and I have a hard time saying "no". ..............
Karen3, gosh, I feel bad for you being in so much pain. I remember before my hip resurfacing, I had to go off anti-inflammatories and it was awful. I was using a cane as it was, but then with no pain meds it was torture.
Is it your hip that you're having the arthroscopic surgery on? Torn labrum? Or is it your knee? Geez, I hope the afib don't throw a monkey wrench in the plans. Best to you.
Dee, it has to be so overwhelming for you with all that you have going on. I'm sending the very best thoughts out for your hubby's outcome. I think you should make him go in now too. 3 months is an awful long time if it's a malignancy. It would be a shame to miss out on the criuse but it would be even more tragic if a malignancy were ignored.
I hear what you're saying about the carbs.
I went back on the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet, and I feel pretty good. My blood sugar is really showing the effects of it. I was so out of control with my eating and not doing daily activities and my B S was in the 180's, FASTING, and once recently even 204 fasting. It is slowly coming down, and it was 133 this morning. Still not GOOD but a lot better, and my daytime readings are anywhere from 114 to 94.
I went on this way of eating 7 or 8 yrs ago and lost over 50 lbs, and felt great, but, foolishly, started to gradually, slowly, put more carbs into my eating and before I knew it a few years had passed and I was at my highest weight PLUS I had developed diabetes.
I will always have to eat low carb, I know that now. That doesn't mean NO carb, just LOW carb.
Cajun, I hope you're enjoying you weekend at camp.
What are the chances that your sons former boss will hire someone else, thinking that your son isn't coming back? geez, your son is kind of between a rock and a hard place. I wish him well.
Bobbi, did you get any snow last night? I thought we were suppose to get some but didn't see anything. Of course, I was downstairs a lot of the time too, but nothing showing this morning when I got up.
We're suppose to get maybe up to 3 to 4 inches tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.
The guys haven't been here since a week ago this past Wednesday. I suspect they're doing other jobs they had started before they came to do the outdoor digging etc at my house. Now that they've got the foundation work done, I suppose they have to finish up other stuff and then will tackle the rest of the work here. I really don't mind, as long as it gets done by next spring, and I told them that. They're young guys trying to make a living like everyone else and I've watched them work and they're very hard workers. I wonder though, how they're going to get the chimney removed from above the roof if it's snowing or the roof has snow on it. Yikes. I'll be a nervous wreck worrying that they're going to fall. They laugh when I say that. Kids!
Fit4life, (I shortened it, hope you don't mind) Welcome, and hope to see more of you. More often, that is.
What are Wonderslim products? Is it a special program like Jenny Craig, or just a separate weight loss product?Whatever it is, I hope you have success with your plan. Let us know, ......
Meandu, glad you joined us. Stop in and let us know how you're doing. Are you ready for the holidays? I don't mean just foodwise, but all the shopping etc. I'm not having anything for Christmas. The kids will have their Christmas' at their homes, and I'm going to have a get together and give the grands their gifts next summer when I've got all this stuff done with my house.
I need to get up and move. Hope you all have a great weekend!
