We haven't had a shopping thread in awhile...

  • I am BEASTING for some new clothes now that I have a steady income, but my body is once again "in transition" and I have no idea what size or shape I'll end up at.

I have been doing a major sort/cleanout of my clothes - a lot of them are soooo old (I tore the tail of my work shirt this morning OMG!) and I need to replace - but like you am not sure when I should 'jump in' and start buying. I've been staying away from the shops until I can finish the culling... then I'll reassess. It's been weird trying on my 'wish clothes' again and finding that they fit *or very nearly fit*. Kinda scared of slipping backwards and regaining though so I'm going to give it some more time.

Me too!!!! I want to go shopping SO bad, but I know I need to wait.
  • Totally a #goodproblem, but I'm definitely facing a huge wardrobe of too-big clothes, and now that I'm at maintenance and definitely not trying to get any skinnier, shopping is both fun and extremely stressful.

The demons in my head definitely come out when I think about altering or replacing my now-far-too-big staples: I can't afford it! What if I get bigger? When taking my measurements for alterations, I wonder... what if I get smaller? Should I try to get smaller? And that's never a fun chain of thought.

But shopping is still amazingly fun. The problem is that smaller sizes tend to not go on sale! (Or is just me who notices this?) I love to hear ideas of brands that tend to see their smaller sizes go on sale, rather than larger ones... so far, all I can think of is Banana Republic (00/0/petite sizes) and JCrew, sometimes.
