hey clb best wishes to you!! ^_^

1/21 training everyday for pushups and handstand - 0 of ? pauses

ciao everyone, reporting for the first day, I couldn't perform any complete pushup as expected I can complete three shallow ones, as in not bending the arms as deeply down as I should, or about ten if i do them with my knees on the ground. As for handstand.. i can support my own weight just fine for a long while, but the balance part is an immense obstacle.. I keep falling forward into the supporting wall or back down on my feet. Any ideas on how to train 4 upside down balance ? :3

Day 11 is done - no pauses. Still working on the next challenge. I think it will have something to do with crunches, but we will see.

Day 12 is done. The next lot of exercise will be ringing out the washing since the washing machine just died.

Morning all,
I've completed my no chip challenge! I'll be interested to see how much longer I can go without them, though. I'm hoping we'll still try to keep them out of the house (as we have with the soda). So far I'm okay not buying them, but these 21 days have been hard.
Days 4 & 5 of less salt - DONE.
Days 5 & 6 of more exercise - DONE. Went to the bf's school yesterday to do weights and some incline treadmill work in the gym, and then took the dog for a decent walk last night around twilight. Felt great afterwards.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Fra - Keep doing what you can in terms of the pushups and handstands. You will be able to do more as you progress. As for balance, I have a hard enough time with right side up balance exercises (standing on one foot for a long time, etc.), so upside down...don't think I can help you there.

Shad - Great job on the walking! Ringing out wash is good upper body exercise! LOL Sorry to hear about your washing machine.

Charlie - on completing the no chip challenge!! And for how well you're doing on the other challenges!

Red - Hope you're doing okay. I think about you a lot and am sending you :

Hi, people. Not in a good way here. All challenges crashed. The assault on my psyche, emotions has been compounded by poor eating, drinking and smoking. I feel awful and just want to sleep, but can't because there are things to be done. Gotta get out of this vicious cycle. Wish me luck, please....

Red, I'm not normally one to encourage "bad" habits, but...I am ALL FOR you smoking right now. Any comfort you can get, y'know? I just feel like it's expecting too much of one person to go through everything you are, AND give up smoking.

I hope - I really hope - that things improve for you soon.
*hugs*

Red, hope things get better for you soon. All bad things end sooner or later. Please take care. Sending you hugs.

Fra, Diyana, Shad, Charlie - so happy to see you are all doing so well.

I am not able to work everyday. I am so far doing well on working out every weekday. I am planning to drop this challenge for now.

I think I will pick some food related challenges. Let me plan and come back.

Red - I'm so sorry to hear that you're still in such emotional upheaval and you've gone back to booze and cigs. I know things are very difficult for you. I agree with Charlie - find comfort where you can, and most importantly, DON'T beat yourself up for finding comfort. You are in a period of intense stress and grief...do the best you can, but don't demand perfection of yourself.

I put on approx. 20-30 lbs during the year that my parents were dying and after they died because I turned to comfort food. Do I regret gaining weight? Sure. But do I beat myself up about it...NO WAY! I comforted myself with the coping mechanism that I used much of my life. Now, during much less stressful times, I'm trying to find other coping mechanisms....but at the time, I needed something tried and true...which turned out to be pizza, ice cream and brownies - and lots of it.

Please call me or email me when you have time. I am here for you, my friend. :

Apple - Glad to hear you're getting serious with your challenges! I know you can do this, girlfriend!

Charlie - Hope you're doing well your challenges!!

Iniya - It is hard to complete our challenges on the weekends, at least for me it is. My weekdays are so structured...I know what I'm going to eat and when, I drink much more water and I know when I'm going to exercise. Weekends are sometimes so up in the air or full of other activities. Food and water drinking challenges are always good. Don't be gone long while you're thinking up new challenges.

Shad - Great going on your walking challenge!!

**************************
I had a great workout at the gym last night. I did an hour of Zumba and 1/2 hour of strength training. Tonight will be lots of decluttering before heading to the gym for 1/2 hour of Zumba. I had such a yummy breakfast today. On Tuesdays, the cafeteria at my work makes omelets. So I had my usual, an Egg Beaters omelet with lots of veggies - no cheese or meat - covered in salsa. Because it's Egg Beaters and no meat or cheese, a HUGE omelet is only 2 Weight Watcher points!! And it's SOOO yummy! And I got a serving of veggies in already before 7 am!

redballoon - 3 words: DO NOT QUIT :/ challenges are not crashed, they are paused. You used pauses. See it that way and get in them again? I hope you can. Hugssssssss

rainenroses - awesome and FUN challenge, good luck on starting and following it!

everyone else: you are doing great!!! I am amazed at anyone who can follow multiple challenges like you are.. I can only do one at a time, apparently :P and lol @ the upright balance comment

since I have not yet cleared the challenge today (still at work, shhh!), i report only up to yesterday: day 4/21 training everyday 4 pushups and handstand, 0 pauses used. Lots of panting and stubborness involved.
