    Day 2 carb challenge= 54 carbs
  • Day 17 of the no-wine challenge complete. Only 4 days to go! And Red, I haven't substituted anything else for the grape. The only other libation I really enjoy is a particularly calorie/booze rich concoction that starts life as a martini and ends up all blowsy, overdressed , and extremely pricey. And is, of course, served with far too many salty bar snacks. (Just as well it's too late to head out for a drink. I've made myself quite thirsty...)

    Time for bed. Bye all!
  • Wow, and carla! you've made me thirsty too! Heading to the racetrack now...
  • Sorry... *possible food porn*
Red... is this ok??? I don't know what size to use... the congrats to you on my last post were a 3pt...my writting on that post was a 2pt.... this is a 4pt.... I wish I knew what it looked like on your screen LOL

As for the traveling journal... that's basically it... you have to write down everything you eat... plus the points you have allotted and how much each item "costs" you. The points are a calculation of calories, grams of fiber, and fat grams in each food.... I have 34 pts a day plus 35pts for a weekly allowance. To put that in perspective.... a 4.5oz Chicken breast without bone or skin is 3 pts without any type of seasonings... then you start adding side dishes... spaghetti w/ marinara... 1/2c is 6pts. Milk is 3pts for an 8oz glass... it starts to add up fast. Anyway, my job is to stay under my points... and write down everything that I put in my mouth. The best way to use this diet plan is to eat high fiber + low pts. Lots of leafy veggies and stuff. Which is super good for us because we love veggies here. I have to bring the journal back on friday... which is gonna be hard because I have a women's conference that day... I may have to drop it off sooner... and leave my "how I did" report with the leader. I don't want to miss the class I am supposed to attend!

I hope everyone is having a great day... rather night... Sunday... hmmm... so many timezones...
  • Good morning all. Just a real quick post before off to a tack sale and the barn.

Not much new to report. Had a good time with my girlfriends yesterday. Should be a fun day today. Just have to stick the resolve as far as my eating.

have a good one everyone. Talk to you later.
  • Heh JCT, 3 and 4 are fine! 2 was just too small. I've noticed that depending on the font there seems to be a big difference and often I see no difference between 3 and 4 and then all of a sudden, wow! it's miniscule! I just got in from the track. It was a good race. 3-length win. I had the story typed out in no time!..... Well, good luck on the journaling. It'll help keep you in line, I'm sure!

jolly -- a tack sale?!?! Oh, my, the words that are music to my ears...jeans, skirts, dresses?! nah.....coolers, blankets, sheets, breeches, paddock boots...oh yes!!!! tell me if you get anything! And, by the way, I never asked you, what's your horse's name, breed, age, color?
  • 32 minutes yesterday (Day 19). Burst of energy came from having had enough sleep the past few days.
I haven't decided yet whether to start counting from Day 1 on Feb 22nd, or whether to continue to Feb 28th and start a new 21-day running challenge on March 1st.

Note: Tomorrow is the last day I'll have reliable computer & internet access. After that I won't be able to post more than once or twice per week until March 9th or so. And then starting March 20th, I'll be totally offline for almost a month. It will suck!

  • First Timer
Hello . . . I'm new to posting and forums and threads so I'm not sure I'll be able to find my way back here, but I just had to talk to somebody. I've decided to join OA because I'm sick and tired of being 40 lbs overweight and hating myself everytime I see my naked body in the mirror!

I haven't found a convenient group to join yet . . . I suppose "convenient" is the operative word here. That's my boggle . . . convenience foods. I don't think I "over eat" regular foods . . . I just don't eat the "RIGHT" foods and I eat when I'm emotional. Wasn't sure if OA was right for me until I read the 15 questions. I nailed most of them, so I guess I have to say . . . "Hi, I'm Noodlesz and I'm an overeater".
