Hi! My name is Jessanne and I new to the calorie counting but so far so good. My husband and I started off the new year with a visit to the nutritionist and she got us started. I am a nurse so my biggest thing is ordering out (I work second shift) but thankfully right now we have a weightloss contest going on so everyone is being good. I have been picking up lots of great tips here Can't wait to get to know everyone.

  • So far...so good
My dh and I started counting calories (rather, I did for both of us!) on October 18th. I am now down 38# and loving it! It is so much fun to find good menus that leave us both satisfied. Looking forward to sharing everyone's weightloss.
  • WOW! HappyWife you are doing a GREAT job! Thirty eight pounds since mid-October?!! I am very impressed!! Makes me want to stick to this for sure.

  • Hi All,

How are you all doing. This is a hard month and then things will pick up in March with spring fever and summer clothes on our minds. Hope everyone is OP!

Well I have been maintaining my 5 days a week of cardio and weight training. I have also been really doing great with my eating but am still yo yoing! I did see 153 one day but this past week or so I have gone up and down between 154 and 157! I feel good and only see improvement in my arms and legs not in the tummy. It is hard when you see your self every day to notice tiny changes. I think my back looks slimmer?? I was hoping to loose some more tummy fat before surgery day which is now 2 WEEKS away!!! nerves are starting up a little...... I will be very happy when my mom an aunt arrive on the 8th though. I am so ready to get this all over and heal. By May I am hoping to be at my goal weight and shopping for a great spring/ summer wardrobe! That is exciting to think about.

I know I am doing good and it has to be water and muscle weight but it sure would be nice to see a pound or two drop here and there. Helps keep you motivated. I am going to stop weighting till Sunday. I weight in everyday and it is getting to me. I will weight and measure Sunday then not till about a month Post Op after some swelling is gone. I am hoping the surgery will get me 8-12 lbs thinner and several inches in the tummy.

Well we only have a few months to get ready for Spring clothes ladies. Keep at it.

Miss you Holly and Amy where did you go?

    Amie
  • I though I would share my before and after photo with the new ladies. I love to see others photos. I really shows what you can do when you put your mind to it.

  • WOW! You've done a great job!!

    Kimberly
  • Wow Amie! It is really encouraging to see someone who has lost so much. You may not beable to see a difference in your tummy, but looking at your after pic, I can barley make it out. I think you look great!! Keep up your hard work, and I will be thinking about you during your surgery.

IU have been really busy. The extra kids take up most of my time, then work takes up the rest. It has been difficult these lase few weeks, but mom comes back on the 31st! Yay!! DH an I will then turn the tables and Give mom all the kids , but only for a week. I can't wait, looking forward to the time off.

  • Thanks so much, but trust me I have a tummy! The chest and clothes hide it good.... LOL

  • Good morning ladies!! Just a short note to let everone know that I am not insane. My mom cameback last night and I got to leave my siblings with her!!!

  • What is "slimming world"? Are you counting calories or... ?

    Kimberly
  • oldburybird-
Everyone usually loses a couple pounds their first week-but most of that is due to eating less than normal (your body will be digesting and holding less food in your digestive system) and water weight. After the initial week, a HEALTHY range for weight loss is about 1/2 to 2 pounds per week. Most people do not lose 2 pounds a week that often-it is usually 1/2 to 1 pound.

You are losing at a healthy, recommended rate. Do not get discouraged, you are doing just fine. What I think is important to remember, is that if we are 20 pounds overweight-we didn't gain that 20 pounds in a month-it probably creeped up on us over the course of a few months, or even years. You are not going to lose 20 pounds in a month, either-unless you are doing something very drastic that could be harmful to your health.

Rather than thinking of it as just one pound a week-think about the fact that 4 months from now-mid June-you could be about 15 pounds thinner for the summer.
  • Aphil! Hi there! How are you doing?
  • STRESSED.

    That puts it mildly...
  • I'm always afraid to ask newly 'p' gals ... but are you OK? health wise?
When I was about 7 weeks with my second, I spotted and took a week off work. The girls were so funny and awkward when I came back. They'd say almost anything but 'how are you?'
