Good Saturday afternoon everyone. I kept my lazy butt in bed till 10:30 this morning. I couldn't believe it. But I was so tired from yesterday I slept like a rock. I did get up at 6 and let Jackson out to potty. But just wanted to go back to sleep in. Besides there not anything I really need to do. We got the movies Blow and Family Stone from Netflix to watch today or tonight. And I got a book I won off ebay called Skinny ***** to read. So lots of choices for a quiet day.

Bob- Looks like you've got your day of football games all set. Maybe I'll take out some chicken breasts to grill today that sounds good.

Heartmom- Sorry you're having to work today. But have a good shopping trip afterward with your Grandmother.

Talitha- You did wonderful with your eating. What is it you sell?

Techwife- Your little guy is adorable. That head of blond hair is amazing. We live by the river and have an awful time with spiders too.

Monet- Oh my gosh what a ton of stuff you have to do. You'll be so tired, I don't envy you.

Rachel and I went to town and got pedicures this morning. I also had the eyebrows waxed. OW!!! It's really not that bad, better than tweezing and Ilike the way they look. We are leaving next Saturday for Florida, so we have little flowers painted on our toes so we'll be beautiful poolside!

I have already thought of a few tips for me to use while I'm gone. I am going to try to drink a lot of water and eat veggies whenever they are offered. We will have a kitchen, so plan to eat in most of the time, but I'm sure there will be a couple of nights out. It is just nice to be able to come in from the pool, wrap a towel arouond you while you fix dinner, then go right back out to the beach and enjoy the sunset. We are fairly low key people!

I am new to 3FC, saw this board--sugar is my downfall. Big time. Do I need to buy the book to do Sugarbusters, or can I go by information I learn here?

Hey kids!

Well, I have been busting my arse all day cleaning house and I'm still not done! I'll have to take Cozmo's (my amazon parrot) cage out tomorrow to clean it - its all full of bird poop! It's just such a pain - it's SO BIG! But, it needs to be done - not to mention his little area of the house is filthy! So, that needs a good cleaning. Birds are so messy!

My eating has been crap so I've got to get it together and get a hold of myself before I gain my 10 pounds back.

TECH: Your little boy is so cute!! His hair is so blonde! He reminds me of Terry when he was little!

Planning for the fall football season in the South is radically different than
up North. For those who are planning a football trip South, here are some

Getting Tickets:

Friday Classes After a Thursday Night Game:

NORTH: Students and teachers not sure they're going to the game, because they
have classes on Friday.
SOUTH: Teachers cancel Friday classes because they don't want to see the few
hung over students that might actually make it to class.

Parking:

NORTH: An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game
parking.
SOUTH: RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the
weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.



Game Day:

NORTH: A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV.
SOUTH: Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to
where ESPN is broadcasting "Game Day Live" to get on camera and wave to the
idiots up north who wonder why "Game Day Live" is never broadcast from their
campus.

Tailgating:

NORTH: Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio
station with truck tailgate down.
SOUTH: 30-foot custom pig-shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking accompanied
by live performance by "Dave Matthews' Band," who come over during breaks and
ask for a hit off bottle of bourbon.

Getting to the Stadium:

NORTH: You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in.
SOUTH: When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it becomes the state's
third largest city.

Concessions:

NORTH: Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the top with soda.
SOUTH: Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it,
filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.

When National Anthem is Played:

NORTH: Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand up.
SOUTH: 100,000 fans, all standing, sing along in perfect four-part harmony.

The Smell in the Air After the First Score:

NORTH: Nothing changes.
SOUTH: Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.

Announcers:

NORTH: Neutral and paid.
SOUTH: Announcer harmonizes with the crowd in the fight song, with a tear in
his eye because he is so proud of his team.

After the Game:

NORTH: The stadium is empty way before the game ends.
SOUTH: Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker, while somebody goes to the
nearest package store for more bourbon, and planning begins for next week's
game.

GINCON: It would help to read the book, and Talitha's suggestion of the library is what I would suggest too. Its free then, and once you have read it, you really don't need it. In a nutshell, you avoid white sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes, pineapple, bananas, and corn. These are all high glycemic, and the diet is based on the glycemic index. High GI means a greater insulin response...so this way you can keep your insulin levels down which aids in weight loss. The diet works. Its easy to follow. Once you get the hang of it, you don't have to count grams, points, or calories...you just avoid processed foods with more than 3 grams of sugar per serving, and concentrate on fresh veggies, fruits and lean meats. BOB: The shower was for a friend....Laura had a baby shower a few months back. It was awesome...there were about 25 women here for it. (Ruth gave it, here of course! And the AC was broken that day and about 90 degrees in my living room...ai yi yi!)

I still here just been busy doing things with hubby and kids. I fell off the wagon big time this week. Stuffed my face with nonlegal stuff until I was sick. Am going to start over today. Fried fish was my downfall. When I get near or have to cook it I just can't resist it. And the hushpuppies to.

Happy Sunday everyone. Just popping in to check on you all. We watched movies last night. The Family Stone and Blow with Johnny Depp. It was a nice evening. Now its time to do wash and get DH ready for the week. I'm also watching the cooking shows and its making me hungry for chocolate. Sorry I can't reply to everyone. The phone is keeping me busy...

GinCon--Another very important reminder, besides the white flour, white sugar avoidance, is to not eat too much. The book is pretty specific about keeping your meals small, even describing how the food you put on your plate should only be a nice arrangement of food in the middle, flat part of the plate, not touching the rim or flange of the plate. That's a big secret, I think, to the success of Sugarbusters. If you eat a ton of meat and veggies with butter, then you will have slow going. So try to be aware of how much you are eating. Don't just eat because it's "time to eat" or everyone else is, and don't feel like you have to clean your plate. Stop eating when you are just satisfied. Get used to how it feels not to be stuffed, and enjoy feeling light and satisfied. Good luck to you.
