  • August 14 AM: 1.19 miles running in 10:00 on treadmill. Barbell shoulder press, barbell curl, lying tricep extension, lat pulldown, bench press, Roman chair leg lifts.
  • 9k steps.
  • August 14: 50 minutes weight lifting (legs and glutes)
    20 minutes foam rolling
    4 miles walking with my boys
  • Wednesday, August 14th:

    45 minute spin class, extremely tough, I couldn't have made it through an entire hour. Nearly deserted because of the perfect weather, sunny yet cool, which sent all the cross-training runners out of doors.
    Adductor machine, hamstring curls, squats without any weights

    Thursday, August 15th:

    60 minutes elliptical, random intervals, resistance at nine
    60 minute Pilates mat class
  • August 14 PM: 2.5 mile jog in 24:03 - had to walk for a bit because I ate too big a lunch too soon before running and felt ill

    August 15 AM: 10 min arc trainer, 12 min stair stepper. Had some stomach issues prior, felt a bit weak.
  • August 15: 7 miles running (57:20)
    20 minutes foam rolling
    45 minutes core work
  • Thursday - movement-based flexibility workout.

  • Friday

    2-3 hours chopping wood, mowing longish grass with push mower, raking etc.
  • August 15 PM: 45 minute spin class. My rear and groin area is not happy today.

    Rest day today, 13 mile mountain hike tomorrow.

    20 minutes foam rolling
  • Friday, August 16th:

    This was one of my periodic collapses, where I overslept, but still could've made it to the gym in time, put on the clothes for it, had the best of intentions, and then couldn't leave my kitchen table and coffee mug.

    I thought I'd get away at 5 PM but at 4:30 PM, some tech news broke and someone wanted to write about it. I didn't log off till 6:30 PM.

    But still ....

    30 minutes Stairmaster, the usual
    60 minutes back & biceps routine

    And the guilt of a compulsive exerciser over not clocking another half-hour on the StairMaster, as usual. But half of me was tired of being on the gym on a Friday night, and I wanted to get home by 9 PM from my long day.
  • Saturday, August 17th:

    60 minute spin class with weight and resistance band intervals
    60 minute Pilates mat class, lots of IT-band stretches for someone in class with an IT-band issue
  • August 17: 50 minutes weight lifting
    20 minutes foam rolling
    3.2 miles hiking
