You know, I think that sometimes we all try to be too perfect -- then, if we don't live up to those high expectations, we dump on ourselves. We need to look at what we are doing right; and what we are doing well -- and pat ourselves on the back for those accomplishments, however large or small.
RUTH ~ well, lean meat & green beans is a bit lean for you; so all you need to do is a add in a small serving of some kind of healthy hardy carb with that meal; maybe a little brown rice or barley, or a nice mixed cabbage slaw. Maybe pasta & french bread was a bit much, but maybe just the pasta alone would be OK. We had wg spagettini (measured) with mini-meatballs with lotsa veggies in the sauce (mushroom, zucchini, green peppers, onions) last night. I had a baby cucumber salad on the side as well; boy was I full or what? On pasta day, I have less grain carbs for BF & lunch, so I can have the pasta with my dinner.
TRISH ~ maybe you added back in too many. My body needs some grain carbs, or I start to feel dizzy and light-headed, even nauseated & weak. As long as I keep them balanced and in small portions, I am fine. I know that I am blessed and that others may not have the same experience; but eventually, you will find out how many you can tolerate and still feel well.
Today was my BD, so we went out for lunch, but I will still be under my maintenance cap for the day; and maybe even under. Have to remember that this is only once a year. I just chose KFC; nothing fancy as we don't go there much anymore and I just had a hankering for that chicken.
Afterward, we went for a nice long walk to counter any extra calories; I had planned this ahead of time to wear some of that lunch off. Now, we will have a very small, light dinner tonight to finish the day.
We had lovely

all day long; what a nice little extra gift that was for my BD. I have been drinking more green tea lately and have found that it is easier on my tummy than the regular black stuff. I am becoming a big fan; and I picked up a sample of pomegranate green tea just to try it out.
Hope you are all having a lovely fall week ... Rosebud
