Hi everyone,
My food, exercise, general health & well-being are all good right now. I have been having trouble eating my raw veggies at lunch (and other veggies just aren't appealing either) so I've been making light dips with sour cream, herbs, spinach, etc. to keep my taste buds happy. It's working so far as I really like all my dip recipes. My favorite is spinach, feta, light sour cream & cream cheese. BF totally forgot about a wedding of some of his friends that we're supposed to go to this Saturday. Luckily my hairdresser can fit me in for a trim, and I went shopping a few months ago and bought some cute dresses so I have something to wear. He's in charge of getting a gift, since he forgot about it.

I think I will volunteer to be DD for the reception, that way I can't get too wine-makes-me-want-more-food-happy.
baffled, I think you posted earlier this week about how it's ok to not be totally strict and eating well most of the time is fine, in response to several of us kvetching about the junk food in our offices. I wanted to add my 2 cents - I totally agree with this philosophy. But the 80/20 idea just doesn't work for me. If I get a little bit of cookie or whatever (usually a simple sugar), I just want more and I turn into this white carb sugar craving demon. I can't stop at one serving or even four of cookies, cake, chips...mostly 'white' carbs. Also part of my kvetching is my office's placement of the junk - on the coffee stand, which is right next to
my desk, not theirs, and I have to stare directly at the snacks all day long. Lately I have just moved them down the hall to the kitchen, even if they complain. But that is the end of my whining, I just wanted to explain why I try to be so strict with my food intake.
Meg, I'm sorry to hear your son had such a bad night. Hope he is better now, and this new pump helps him. I don't know many details about diabetes, though, I'm certainly not trying to pretend that I do.
Jay, free is good!
Jessica, sounds like a nice weekend.
Anne, way to not eat cookies! They are evil - you are 197% correct.
Robin, I didn't see the program, but I read an article...maybe also saw a segment on a TV show...about some of the Biggest Losers and how they hadn't maintained their losses, acknowledged unhealthy weight loss tactics, and one even admitted to taking laxatives. I wish I could remember where the article came from. I was very into season 1, as that was when I was losing a lot of weight also. I would be interested in seeing the statistics on the biggest losers. It is sort of disappointing, but it's not going to affect my determination to keeping my weight off!
I hope everyone is having a good week.
