Had a great day today..yesterday I ate to much so counted it as a high day 2000 calories and today has only been about 700 but will most likely have a 100c snack.I ate lots of veggies and am not hungry.
bum- hope you get feeling better. My hubby has to get shots of blood thinner at times and we have to go an hour away to get them and then the shot only takes a second if the meds are there. Then we have the hour trip back home..oh well its worth it knowing he shouldnt have any more blood clots.
Has REtire been here lately? We use to talk about her sons wedding alot. Just wondering how she was doing.
Im going for a walk before it gets dark..I have noticed its getting dark earlier already. I am not ready for fall.
hugs to all

I just went to bed last night without working out because I felt meh. Still feel meh but have to push to get the costumes done. I only have 20 days! ARGH!

Didn't weigh today I probably will in a few days.

Now if the damn sun would just go down so it would cool off I can get ACTION PACKED!

EDIT: Well I measured. 37-25-37 That means one inch to go! I think if I can lose the last 5 it should be sorted, yeah?

Morning,

Stayed On Plan all day yesterday. Today the boss is coming to town and The Feeder has already rolled out the mega muffins so I'm staying away from the kitchen. Made plans to be in the laboratory [a whole different building]all afternoon when he finally arrives since she will be having some obnoxiously lavish lunch catered in... the Cold War continues.

Tomorrow I'll be in the lab all day and will be safe from the feasting. Now that I'm getting closer to the 120's, I feel myself getting ruthless!

Best wishes to everyone for an On Plan day!--Do we have a day in common for weigh-in on this thread?

thugzneedhugz, I am in my fifties and am very sedentary as a rule. I have lost weight by counting calories (under 1400) over the past 5 weeks. However, I have recently found myself wanting to increase my activity because I want to see faster results and I want to improve my stamina so that I don't get tired as quickly.

I think the answer is that you can lose weight by counting calories alone but that it will be a very gradual process.

Hi Ladies

I was in a bit of rush this morning, to get to the grocery store before the heavy rains hit.
DH not feeling well due to the chemo he had yesterday. He very tired and fatigued,so I let him sleep.

Now that I saw Julia & Julie I have cooking on my mind and I'm going to attempt to make Beef Bourguignon over the weekend. According to the movie the recipe almost resembles beef goulash. Wish me luck.

Going to watch the PGA tournament this afternoon.Hope my DH is up by than,as he love golf more than I do,but unfortunately we don't play, due to bad backs.

thugzneedhugz-Welcome to the chat. All people are different its hard to say what will work for you and for others. Since I started counting calories I did exercise every day,but now that I'm weening off doing high & down day calories, I tend to only exercise on my high day.

DGRAMIIE-No I haven't seen Retire posting since her DS wedding, lots of the old times are missing, but I think its the summer that causing that.
Glad that your not hungry on the low calorie day, I find that myself,as you keeping the body guessing of what your up too. I know, even of the treatment is 10 mins if it helps him that the most important.

PRINNY-I think your doing fine and you be where you wanbt to be in no time.

SPANKY- Don't think we have a W-I day on the chat tread but we might have it on the other ones. I W-I on Monday and i use this thread for that.

Have a great day, will poke in and see what your guys are up to later.

Had a couple off days eating wise, but I'm ready to refocus. I got on the scale and I'm down a half a pound so far official weigh in day is Wednesday so maybe I'll be down another half. Been busy cleaning this morning, it never seems like I can get caught up!! I've got some clothes to return to Old Navy, but debating on whether to go. I'd be dragging the lil ones with me...for some reason that just kinda takes all the fun out of it

Beachbum-oh I wanna see that movie!! Good luck on your meal, let us know how it turns out.

spanky-great job on avoiding the mega muffins

prinny- what are you making costumes for?

I am making costumes for a videogame convention at the beginning of Sept.

Weighed in @ 134.6 this morning. I am possibly PMSy, certainly feel emotionally wonky enough to be. I only have 18 days to get the last 4 pounds off... not sure I can. :-(

I ended up taking the kids shopping, and surprisingly they were both well behaved!! Wonder if I can get away with that two days in a row?

Prinny-that sounds like a lot of work-but fun!! Good luck on losing the last 4lbs you can do it!!!

Well I'm off to go to walmart before the church goers show up! Got to finish school shopping for my DD.

Everyone have a great day.

I didn't think this needed a post of it's own so I thought Aug Chat would be a good place. So I am down 25 lbs yeah! ...but then it was that TOM...so the week before and the week after I have been going up and down one or two pounds. I also have not been counting my calories like I should...at all. My computer was down for a bit and so I wasn't recording it. Sat dinner was about 900 cal! (I like to stay at 1300 to 1500) So you know I wasn't within plan. Monday I start plugging my meals in again! Get back on track and work at it again.

OK....I feel better.

Thank you all for being there. I couldn't do it without the support of my chicks.

prinny, your life sounds so exciting. bum, and dgramie. How is the high calorie/low calorie plan working so far??? I decided to heat higher carb/low carb and it works out to high calories/low calories. yesterday I ate 600 cs 26g carbs. I didn't want much else. Today I ate 1700 cs and alot of carbs. I was trying for 2000 but am too full. Tell how you both do yours???

I had lots of goodies. shrimp with seared veggies and alfredo sauce with high fiber spaghetti mixed with regular. (I LOVE to cook)

cherries, dark chocolate ice cream bar. 1 bite of key lime pie.

Dream, I know how it is shopping with kids = exhaustion.

spanky, that sounds like a miniseries "Life with the Feeder". Good job on circumventing temptation.

emileigh-you might benefit alot from light weight training to build bone density now.

babyblues-just get right back in there!

Good Morning Ladies

Sorry I was MIA over the Weekend I was watching the GPA champion golf game, and was disappointing that the Tiger didn't win.

Got on the scale it morning for my official W-I and I maintained this week.I guess the old bod wants to take a rest and I haven't exercise the whole week either. So I'm going to improve my way of exercising this week so I have a better W-I next.

DREAM-It was a good movie & recommended it,especially if you like to cook. I was going to make the Beef Bourguignon but it got to hot over the weekend and I was busy watching TV.I still going to try to cook this, but I'm waiting for a cooler day. Congrats on your 1/2 lb,I maintained this week, but with the heat and all I glad that I did not run into water retention.

BABYBLUES-Congrats on your first 25 lb that alone is terrific. We all have day like that I fortunately don't have TOM hanging around anymore. Just go back to counting the way you were doing and you'll be fine.

JENDIET-You high low carb plan sound interesting too. I might switch to yours once in awhile to keep the boredom down to a minimum. My plan for the week goes like this ,starting tomorrow after following a W-I day,Tues= I will be on a low calorie of 600 W/O bread/grain carbs Wed back to 1600 with medium amount of carbs, than back to Thurs= low ,Fri=Med[1000],Sat=high,Sun=low. I like to stay low the day before a W-I.

The only think I don't like on your goodies list was Alfredo sauce. I find it too rich for me. So your a cook also,I love cooking but I 'm more of less like the 30 min kind, with less preparing. That why the Beef Bourguignon is going to be a challenge for me.

I havent posted in a while so no personal responses.Have ready everything, good luck to everyone.

The semester starts in exactly 1 week now so its time for me to get busy. Our church didn't have its normal pot luck yesterday, even though I always go higher on calories on those days I still love it and it will probably be the last one we could have gone to for a while. With school we normally don't have the time to anything to much fun. We usually go to school, do homework, go shopping and of course Church. The only "relaxing" we normally do is church and grocery shopping.

I probably wont be posting as much as of next week. I am starting my new workout plan today since I have no more college gym class. I am ready for it though. I took a week off of exercise and I miss it very much.

Hope everyone has a great day!

HI, I'm back. The wedding was wonderful and we went on our holidays just a few days later. Mom was going to spend time "at home" with my sister but she took sick while there and passed away last Monday. She was buried on my son's first month married anniversary. It was very unexpected and we're still in shock over the whole thing. I'm going to try and get back on regularly by September. I'm just not myself yet. The house is so empty now with DS married and mom gone.

I haven't read the thread but I hope everything is going well with all you calorie counters.

OK. HOW does she do it? The Feeder continues to find new ways to foil a diet!!!

She has been the one who keeps our kitchen fridge stocked with Coke, Pepsi, etc. These are things which everyone but me uses and enjoys--no problem. I stick to black coffee or bottled water--which she also orders for us. [courtesy of our employer]

This morning she sent us an email saying that the company wants to cut costs so both the COFFEE and the WATER will be discontinued!!!!! Not the soft drinks, not the hot chocolate, not the wine, not even the champaign [I kid you not here]--- just coffee and water.

Her comment? : "You'll just have to learn to drink pop like the rest of us".

AAAAaaaarrrrggggh!
