  • Thanks ma26. There was much rejoicing and dancing this morning lol.
  • Great job guys! I was all set to go weigh in and get a great workout this morning at the gym. I haven't weighed for a bit am anxious to see if I dropped, so I drank a ton of water yesterday, didn't exercise so I could let my sore muscles rest, etc. I was up at 5:30 ready to go--and then I found out that my school is closed today due to inclement weather. (I go to the gym at my school, to be clear.) I am NOT a happy camper. Oh well I guess!
  • Hey Ladies! Just joining here at 164! I want to be in the 150's reeeeeally soon. I was in the 160's all last year and then ended 2011 at 172 my highest weight ever! Seeing you ladies in the same boat is motivational! Lets lose these last suck pounds
  • 171 today Just 7 lbs til healthy BMI!
  • Quote: 171 today Just 7 lbs til healthy BMI!
    That's exciting!! I'm 11lbs away, I can't wait!!!!!
  • That's awesome, keep going!

I'm 165.6lbs today. I really want to make it to the 150's. The last time I ever saw the 150's was Freshman year of high school..... 8 years ago O_O!

I got down to 160.2 last year, and then tore a muscle and climbed back up to low 170's.
  • Hey everyone, FINALLY got to go weigh and workout at the gym this morning--checking in at 169.6 (-3.2 lbs)! 160s??? I don't even remember the last time--has to be high school. Hooray!!!!
  • I have been weighing 162.4 for five days now.. ugh I just want it to drop some finally!! Especially since I'm only 3 lbs away from a healthy weight! It looks like a lot of us are getting pretty close to healthy! That must have been really frustrating dizzysoi to get so close and then gain because of an injury!
  • Back up to 170...ate a lot though and finally really drank so I'm not too disappointed. Planned out my work lunches and such so I'm excited to see it go back down this week!
  • Rebarambam it really really was. I was crushed.

But that's the past and now I'm getting closer to the 150's everyday. I can taste it!

    Weighed in at 164.2lbs~!
  • rainy: YAY!!!! You so skinny lady. I'll meetcha back in the 160s in a few days....

Maddie: Hey, I feel ya lady. I'm sure you'll be back into the 150s in NO time! Stick around!

    Reba:
Arghh!! I hate those plateaus!! Last time around with my weight loss, I hit a few. Sometimes all it takes is a change up of routine.... Like... Changing your exercise, or the type of food you're eating to shock the system. Ever tried that?

    Riesz:
Good job!!! Rock that last 7 lbs right off the scale.

    Dizzy:
Ouch for the torn muscle!!! well, I'm sure you'll be there before you know it... Just keep plugging away one lb at a time!! (164, damn woman!!)

    Alicia:
You make me happy. I like when you can see someone calmly go off plan without guilt or stress and acknowledge that it's not the end of the world, and things will keep going back down now. It's very impressive!!

    Me:
Wow, whatta weekend. I went with a friend to visit her sister and the three of us dipped down into the states to go shopping. I'm going to Cuba in March and I wanted to hit up some American dollar stores in NY and buy a bunch of medicine, sunglasses, toothbrushes, soap, and deodorant to give away in Cuba to the locals since they have a hard time buying those things.

So... Neither of these ladies is health-focused. In fact, both are somewhat big girls, and they spent our time in the states buying junk food that they don't sell in Canada. When we went out for dinner, they ordered a huge plate of bacon cheese fries and steaks. We went to McDonalds for breakfast, and a Mexican food place the next day.

I have never exercised my will power more intensely than this weekend. I got chili and veg and potatoes instead of steak... I got a yogurt parfait instead of a sausage mcmuffin. I twice told them I wasn't hungry when I was desperate to join in on an eating-fest. That being said, I also ate some fries and some plain nachos. I had a cookie, and regular 7Up with my alcohol cause there was no diet...

I also agreed to go for an 8:30 am run this morning though with her older sister. It was a "learn to run" that she's just started, and I found it very easy, but it was calories out! I couldnt believe however that immediately afterwards, her and her friend took me to McDonalds. I was so confused by the contrast between such a healthy activity with such an unhealthy reward... And when I ordered the yogurt parfait, I got eye-rolling and "ugh, healthy..." comments from them.

Anyhow, I'm proud of myself for making a myriad of both good and bad choices, instead of just letting myself go crazy, and being lazy when the opportunity to workout was presented. Knowing that I'm being weighed in for the Toronto Weight Loss challenge on Tuesday is fairly instrumental in helping me say "No"...

Interested to see how I fared on the scale this weekend. Will weigh in tomorrow am when I haven't just had tonnes of liquid and see where I stand vs Friday's 171.8....
  • Jelbb: Wow I truly admire your will power. It is so much harder to make good choices when those around us are making poor ones. I find I have that problem with my BF who also needs to lose weight, he often chooses things which are not healthy and then asks me to join him or encourages me to join him and I often end up indulging.

I also find it really difficult to exercise when away from home so it's so good that you managed to get some exercise in no matter what form it may have been. I think you should give yourself a pat on the back for a weekend well survived!
  • Still hanging at 170...it's that TOM though, and last time I did this I would always see a small drop after, so *crosses fingers* lol I'm just gonna be happy because it didn't go up, I'm sooo close to the 160's!

Jelbb: I'm super impressed with you!! I would have a very hard time refusing bacon cheese fries! You did awesome saying no to some thing and letting yourself indulge in others. It's still okay to enjoy unhealthy foods - everything in moderation! Sounds like you did a great job of that on your mini-vacation!
  • Hey friends - it's been a 3 week break, with alot of crazy stuff going on, but I'm back...4 pounds heavier. I am happy to get back on track soon and take it off real quick. Amazingly, people keep asking me if I'm losing weight (of course I say yes :-) - but I've gained (tear).

So to all my buddies who have lost weight - I caught up on all the history - that is AWESOME!! I am so proud of you. To those of us who gained, we'll take it off again - my new goal is to get back into the 150s asap. One small victory, but a HUGE WIN for me.

    Missed you all!
  • Thanks Jelbb, see you here soon!
