What veggie do you STILL hate?

  • Kale and collards. Although I will eat them if served at someone's house. Actually, asparagus, too.

I don't hate on veggies, but I resent having to prepare them. Oh, and I don't want to eat them if cooked plainly.
  • Cooked spinach. It's slimy and just gross.

    Canned peas. Mushy little buggers.

    Uggh!

Thank God for the ever-present mashed potatoes growing up. It made a great cover for the taste/texture.

Now that I have the choice, I avoid them like the devil.
  • Quote: my problem is fruit, eeeeew, i have recently discovered that i like clementines, probably because they taste like candy, and i can do the pink grapefruit with salt, but things like apples and bananas nooooooo
Wow, I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't like fruit.

    Even mangos and pineapples?

    Is it the sweetness?

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but it's fascinating to me. They're my favorite...that is, after fried chicken, pickles, and oatmeal.
  • I hate tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, cauliflower and brussels sprouts. SO WRONG.

Love everything else though! My favourites are peppers, red onion, celery, asparagus, carrots, any kind of potato, pretty much any fruit, cucumber, and so on.
  • ALL Beets. That's all I can think of that I don't like.
  • Ugh, I can't STAND celery! I try to eat more of it but...*shudder*
  • Lima beans are the worst. Never touch the stuff. I also really dislike iceberg lettuce. I can tolerate it if I absolutely have to but it's such a sorry excuse of a food when there are better types of lettuce available.
  • I despise bananas, and I won't eat green bell peppers because they're not ripe and not too tasty. I don't care for melons either but really love most vegetables, including okra. Oh and cucumber, I can't stand 'em.
  • Asparagus [gag]. And brussels sprouts.
My favorites -- fried okra, fried squash, fried green tomatoes, fried...
  • I HATE eggplant with a passion. I have tried so many times to like it but I just can't do it. I have cooked it in multiple ways and it still tastes horrible to me. I'm also no fan of Zucchini. I've done everything I can to try and like them, but it's just not meant to be. I don't feel guilty about it though. I love all other vegetables and will try anything. I LOVE broccoli. If I don't have it once a day I am so grumpy lmao. Never thought I would ever say something like that, but glad I feel that way!
  • Pickles, cauliflower, beets, and mushrooms are the big offenders. Also, I don't care what you put in it, I'm not touching kimchi.

Just finally got around to being able to eat yams and eggplant. Eggplant is awesome if tempura'd. Lotus roots are another one which really rock when tempura'd.
  • Brussel sprouts. There is nothing you could possibly do to those things to make them even remotely appetizing.
  • Canned peas? The smell of them makes me want to hurl. But I like frozen peas, kind of.

What's up with canned peas? Does anyone still eat them?
  • Brussel sprouts. I remember being a kid and my mom saying "if you don't eat them you can go to your room and not have dinner" So I went to my room and decided I wouldn't eat. (being a fat kid, you can just imagine I know I'd be STARVING, I just couldn't stomach them) I still wont touch them.

Also celery. I HATE the stringy texture. The flavor is icky to me too kind of bitter.
  • Tomatoes and celery!!! Love ketchup but hate tomatoes!!!
