I want to Thank all of you for the kind words and prayers for my sister. She was released from Mayos this afternoon and should be back at home in MO tonight. I spoke with her quite often while she was there and she seems to be feeling so much better. Again Thanks you all so much.

    Have a good evening.
  • CountingDown, good to hear you are enjoying your vacation. I usually don't have much trouble sleeping but I think it is a great time to pray. It's been so hot again. I'm ready for cool weather. It does kind of shut off the appetite to some degree. Cool weather makes me think of long walks and beautiful fall colors. One good thing is that we still have tomatoes, peppers and beans in the garden.
  • Somehow I missed the prayers for John, Gary's mom and in laws. Hope all are doing better.

  • TODAY is our Canadian Thanksgiving Day; would you all mind if I shared a reflection's article that was posted in our local paper? Sure food for thought, I think ...

    A TRUE THANKSGIVING ...

IF you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head, and a place to sleep ...
you are richer than 75% of this world.

IF you have money in the bank, in your
wallet, and spare change in a dish
someplace ... you are among the
top 8% of the worlds wealthy.

IF you woke up this morning with more
health than illness ... you are more
blessed than the million who will
    not survive the week.

IF you have never experienced the danger
of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture, or the pangs of
starvation ... you are ahead of 500
    million people in this world.

IF you can attend a church meeting
    without fear of harassment, arrest,
torture, or death ... you are more
    blessed than three billion people
    in this world.

IF your parents are still alive and
still married ... you are very rare,
    even in the US/Canada.

IF you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful ...
you are most blessed because the
majority can, but many do not.

IF you can hold someone's hand, hug
them, or even touch them on the
    shoulder ... you are blessed
    because you can offer them
    a healing touch today.

IF you can read this message ...
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in this world
    who cannot read at all!

HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING DAY ...
  • Justtobe

I am a very simple person. Someone on the net will ask " How is your day going ". People have all kinds of complaints. This is how I answer. My kids are healthy, the house payment is made, there is food in the fridge, neither of my kids has killed the other one or left blood on my carpets. It is a good day. We all need to think more about what we have instead of thinking how bad things are.

I always say. Every blames God when things go wrong. Maybe they need to blame God when things go right.
  • Hi Gary,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I wil pray God's peace and strength for you and your family during this time. Just knowing she is at rest with our Lord is comfort.
    Much Love in Christ,
    Lori
