I did put mushrooms on my pizza again last week. AND I put black olives in my pasta salad to take to graduation tonight.

I need a new vegetable to try.

I love brussels. I do the usual stuff. Maybe I'll try beets next. Or Jicama. Or turnips. There are so many I cannot choose.

I thought I saw someone on this site talking about "turnip fries" being tasty and a nice change from potatoes.. I don't think I've ever had turnip either....

Morning girls

Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. Now I am looking forward to another long weekend .

We had camping plans for the Memorial Day weekend and it was a good trip. We went with some of Mike's friends and their families. Mike and I decided to hit the trails Saturday morning and we hiked about 5 miles. I was amazed at the difference I felt this time. I remember when we went camping couple years ago and hiking was not fun for me. I was miserable, got tired sooner and just the overall feeling was overwhelming. This time around I was more energetic, looking forward to it and overall felt really good about hiking 5 miles. I guess weight loss so far and working out is paying off .

Sunday, we went on the pedal boat for about 1/2 hour (small lake). It's been years since I did that. I had my life vest on cuz I cannot swim and am also a little hydrophobic. It was fun while it lasted but I have to admit it was heaven coming back to my nice bed.

As for the weather, it was supposed to cooperate and the chance of rain was only 20-30%. But like always they are never right so we had pouring rain Saturday evening which kind of didn't make anyone happy. We left Sunday afternoon. Rest of the folks were supposed to stay till Monday but they left sunday as well cuz it was supposed to rain Sunday evening.

And we have rain all this week

We went to - New Germany State Park

Have a wonderful OP day everyone.

I'll post them tonight. I downloaded them last night but didn't get around to posting them. I have to reduce the size of the image before I post them.

I looked at the turnips. I'm not entirely sure how they are supposed to look but these looked bad. I'll check the other store next time I think about them.

I'm gonna need that lo mien recipe. I LOVE sketti squash. I am even attempting to grow some. They are outrageously priced and always much larger than I need for myself.

Hiya Friends,

This weekend was enjoyable, but it went by much too quickly. Saturday evening was ladie's night. I enjoyed a few rounds of Bunko, lot's of laughs and I held myself to one solitary mango margarita which I sipped on all night. I really wanted a glass of electric lemonade, but vodka makes me stupid! The rest of the weekend was spent watching some movies...'Taken' is good. The Uninvited had a good twist...cleaning house, organizing and spending time with my daughters.

Today is back to the grindstone. I've not been on-plan. After work, I'll be making menus for the week. I also will be walking with a couple of neighbor friends.

I'm also curious to find out how turnip fries come out. I am not a turnip fan (too sweet for me). I've never had it as fries though. Turnips have a good bit of water content.
