I feel like I'm really fighting to get these last miles in at the end of the year! It was a nice day today so that at least helps. I think it's supposed to get cold again going forward though - into the 30s & 40s...brr! I'm hoping to do a better job of running outside this winter than I did last year. On the plus side I think I've found a new running partner for over my lunch hour at work.

  • Way to go, Josephine! I'm so impressed that you and Kitty have hit the 500 mark!

Everyone trying to reach their goal, whatever that is, is really motivating me to keep going, so thank you all for that!
  • Go jenguin!!! You can do it!!!

Did a 7 mile cross country race today. It's a bit of an obstacle course type race but it was a blast! However, I do think my feet went temporarily numb as some of the "obstacles" are creek crossings and it's cold here! Cold enough that it started to snow here just as I was finishing. I'm pretty sure I can feel all my extremities again now though!
  • Sure I'll try to do 500 miles by xmas...that's a lot of miles lol!
  • + 8.1 on Sunday....

    That sounds darn chilly Jenguin!

Our weather is way too cold (30s) for me too! On Friday my feet were so cold that frrom my toes all the way past the balls of my feet-- painful then NUMB. That happened in the first 2-3 miles. So, I decided to get thru the 6 miles loop and then for the second 6 miles (I was planning on 2 x 6m loop.) I would go on back home and hit the treadmll. By the time I completed 4 and 5 my feel were back and I was actually comfortable, but I had already gotten very psyched about the idea of running in shorts and sports bras only in my basement-- while watching TV . So ,that's what I did!!

Only thing is, I find it WAY to easy to stop or slow to walk on a treadmill. I did push myself-- but for me, it is soooo much easier to do longer distances outside.

    Happy running chicks!

Warmed up to about 42 today, but when I was running into the wind I pretty much felt like I was running in place - lol.

Kitty - I'm impressed you got on the treadmill after running outside. I'm not sure I would have been able to do that, but then I don't have a treadmill at home either so that probably makes a difference.
