  • Gosh we really all are obsessed with the smelly breath aren't we!!!
I'm struggling a bit with the soups and can't wait to be able to get the bars tomorrow at my stop in - yippee!!
I'm okay on the shakes - can you do just shakes and bars? Think i read in one of the books that you had to have minimum 2 soups a day!!! That is gonna be the hard bit for me.
I'm suprised at how unhungry I feel although I have had a couple of headaches over the last couple of days but feel fine today.
my tummy does feel a little flatter though - not that it's anything like flat but you girls know what I mean, hopefully that bodes well for my first weigh in tomorrow - yikes!!
Good luck for the rest of the week girls - and remember if tempted - "nothing tastes as good as been thin feels" (think i pinched that from one of the numerous slimming clubs i've done over the years)
  • Hiya ladies

Well done everyone you're all doing brilliantly!

Just wanted to write to say that you don't have to have soups at all, I didn't until I made the crisps (oh my goodness they are delicious!! thai chilli with a few drops of tabasco sauce dropped in yom!!). My counsellor told me she has one lady who just has 28 chocolate shakes every week

I'm feeling absolutely fantastic, I've dropped from a size 18 to a size 12-14 in almost 5 weeks and am just gobsmacked that A) I've done it B) how great I feel!! I am now back to my pre-children weight, but would love to be pre-wedding weight now which would be an all over size 12. Because I'm so tall, if I go any thinner I tend to look too skinny. My counsellor has said that it's doubtful I'll need to stay for the whole 14 weeks yipppeeeeee!! Although I will absolutely definitely do the maintenance course.

For anyone not sure how to make crisps, muffins, biscuits, etc. see the link that someone posted above (it's someone called Mike's diary blog, it's really very helpful) or post on here and I'll tell you how to do it!!

Take care everyone and will chat again soon!

  • WOW Sarah that is amazing I do so want the same to happen to me!
  • oh it will hunni, as long as you stick to the programme it's guaranteed

    Woooohooooo for Lighterlife!!!!

Just having a hot mocha chocolate (hot choc shake with a tsp of coffee) lovely!
  • Evening Ladies,

well done sarah! 5 weeks and 2 1/2 dress sizes down - hope I can do the same!

Just had my first weigh in and I've lost 11 pounds in 4 days - wow!
I've never lost that amount of weight on a conventional diet before - here's hoping to the stone mark on monday night.
I got only shakes today and don't need to have soups if i don't like them - yippee!!!
Looking forward to getting the bars next week for work. So much easier!
    Have a great weekend all!!!!
  • Wow Sarah - that is fantastic! You must be soooooo chuffed. I will keep thinking of that in my wobbely moments.
Suzie 11lbs you must be well happy, i would be dancing on the celling if that were me! . I cant wait to get the bars too, i really need to chew on something.
today is the end of day three for me and it hasnt been too bad but I have had some really really hungry moments. The weekend will be hard too because I am going to London and I am not sure how i will make up my packs.
Right now I cant say I feel overly confident of being able to stick this for more than a few weeks. I will give it my best shot though and hope that the weight losses are good and spur me on.
Anyway Have a lovely weekend all.
    Love Ktx
  • WOW well done Suzie, bet you're really really happy!!

Katie you've made the biggest step and started.. I absolutely promise you that the first week is the worst, after that you just start feeling better and better (and slimmer and slimmer lol!). You keep at it and you're going to feel on top of the world, so much so that the desire to keep feeling so great will outweigh the desire to eat conventional food. YOU GO GIRL!!

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Sarah xx
  • Hi

I've been on the Lighter Life programme for 23 weeks and have lost 93lbs

I'll be going onto management in a couple of weeks

For those of you that have just started this is honestly the best diet i've done and believe me i've been on a few over the years so keep going

    I was a size 24 and 234lbs in March

Now i'm a size 12 and nearly at my target. I look and feel like a totally new woman. I'm more confident and the joy of going into shops like Morgan & Jane Norman in unbeatable.
  • What a lovely post!! Thanks for writing wilderhoney, that was very motivational. Just wondering.. in all that time have you followed the plan religiously or have you strayed at all? I ask because we're going on holiday next week for 2 weeks and I'm taking my packs obviously but a tiny part of me wonders if I might succomb to a glass of wine or something.. I think I would let myself down if I did - what do you think?
  • I have to say if I had the money to do LL the thought of 23 weeks and 93lbs lost would be tempting. Oh and if I had the willpower to stick to it!
  • Sarah

I haven't strayed at all , even when on holiday. i came back from holiday having lost 6lbs

Saying that i was visiting the in-laws so was staying in a home from home so that's easier than a hotel

Everyone else from my LL group has been away and have cheated at some point of their holiday and most of them have regretted it having put weight on.

As one of them said " No food can taste as good as i feel losing weight"

I'd say try and keep to the plan but if you do have any food/drink , don't beat yourself up about it just get back on the plan as soon as you can.

    I hope this helps
  • Thanks Wilderhoney for a really inspiring post, you must be so proud of yourself I bet you feel and look great!
My weekend has been okay, I really really struggled when we were in London but since Sunday I have felt much better and alot less hungry, my tounge has gone all funnythough - it feels like i have burnt it although I havent and its a bit sore and all white, i tried to brush it but that hurt so i am just drinking loads and hoping it goes away.
Weigh in tonight ooooooooooo scary stuff, I better have lost bloody loads or I will be very disapointed lol!!
Suzie how was your weigh in yesterday? Good luck for today Bex, and what day do you wiegh on Sarah??
Off to drink some more water, lol, as i want it over with by 5 for my wiegh in!!!
    Katiex
  • SuzieB - what a fantastic weightloss! well done keep up the good work.

KTq - hang in there onc eyou have your first weigh-in this will boost you to continue - Make up crisps from your soup packs - they rock plus having a texture in your mouth is a great sensation

Wilderhoney - thanks for the post, this is really motivational! you have done so well in such a small amount of time. The way I am looking at it is for 3 months or so of my life it is worth the sacrafice to have the slim me back again, as well as retraining my brain and stomach not to graze throughout the day!

I find drinking 4ltrs of water during the day on a work day no problem, in fact i average about 5 ltrs, but on a weekend this is really tough and I sometimes struggle to drink 4 ltrs. The same goes with meals packs - weekdays I am hungry for the packs, but weekends I can take it or leave it and quite often forget one of the meals. This is weird as I sit at a desk most of the day at work, and at weekends I am active with DIY, dog walking/playing and of course socialising - does anyone else get this?

Tuesday have become a nervous day for me now...weigh-in tonight!!
  • KTq my tongue is going through a similar weird look and feel - I found rinsing with mouthwash a couple of times during the day helps.

Good luck for tonight, I am sure you have shed the pounds.

I was in London too on Saturday for a birthday party survived ok with everyone else around me very drunk; although being sober it is pretty good to wind people up the next day on their drunkeness :
  • Big round of applause for wilderhoney!!! Wow what a fantastic weight loss!!!! I only hope that I can be so dedicated!

Good luck for tonight bex and ktg and well done on not straying in london - i'm avoiding social situations at the minute - mind you i'm only 1 week in and i know i can't for ever!

I feel the same as you sarah and if at this point in time someone offered me a glass of wine I'd be very tempted!!! (does that make me sound like an alcy??)

Thank you girls for your motivation and dedication as today has been decidedly ropey - had a weight loss again last night and have lost just over a stone in one week but i've had food on my mind all day!!!!!!!!!!!

Think it's the old diet mentality of one good week deserves a treat creeping in but I've come straight home from work and bypassed all shops and logged on to get some inspiration and what an inspiration you are!

On the water front I too have increased mine and I'm averaging about 5-6 litres a day. The odd thing is that I still feel thirsty at times????

I look forward to hearing about your weighlosses to spur me on for another good week!

    TTFN
