  • Hi, girls! I have been away from the boards since last weekend. It's quarter-end for us at work and so I've been busy working and not feeling much like logging on when I get home at night. It can be hard to do when you've sat all day staring at a computer screen at work!

Sounds like while I was AWOL from the boards alot of good stuff happened in the way of milestones.

Heather - WAY TO GO making it to ONE-derland. 97 pounds gone. What an accomplishment!!!!

Nancy - I am also happy to see that you have made it into the 200's! Also sounds like you have recovered from your surgery since you are back to work. Congratulations!

Zelma - WOW! That is so awesome that you are going to be in the slimming magazine. Yes, I definitely will vote for you. Gosh, just remember back when you were at your highest. If you were anything like me, I would just soak up all the magazine articles I could find that featured successful "losers". Just think how far you have come to looking to magazine articles for support to actually BEING IN ONE!!! No telling how many people you will inspire. It's just awesome and I'm so proud of you.

Sharon - Can't wait to see the red (and straight) hair. I am blonde but have always wanted to try red. I am just not brave enough. I adore red hair though. I agree with everyone else that you do not look like you weigh what your ticker says. You have a very nice and womanly figure. Unlike mine, which at this weight, resembles a lineman on a professional football team!

Jenn - Welcome to the boards! We have a great group here and am glad you are joining us.

As for me, I gained 3 pounds at my weigh in. That is over 2 weeks since I missed my weigh in last weekend. But still, discouraging. I earned every pound though. I can't seem to find my focus, but I still celebrate that fact that I am TRYING. I haven't given up yet and don't intend to.

I was excited today to have received a piece of art I bought off of Ebay. It is the loveliest painting and I adore it. It's sort of an abstract of three beautiful ladies who are friends. Or at least that is what I imagine them to be. Tomorrow I want to try to go find a frame shop and have it framed. I can't wait to get it on my walls!

That's about it. Have a great weekend, everyone!!!!
  • WELLYNN! YOU DA THIN THANG!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! OH, JUBILANCE!! and VARIOUS SHADES OF YIPPEE!!!
.....OK, and a dash of ME2ME2ME2-IWANNADOTHAT! I hope you don't mind if I step back and indulge in a little bit of hero worship now...

As for the skunk episode, at least the dog was Barb's, not mine, so I had to wake her up and she got to deal with the de-skunking. I felt so bad, I just kept apoligizing, but I felt so lousy that I was truly releaved it wasn't one of mine. Things are smelling fine around here now, much to my amazement. On the other hand my smeller still is in less the top condition. I guess it wasn't as direct a hit as it might have been, thank goodness!!

The horse show went really well. The girl who braided the two horses and claimed to be such a "perfectionist" at braiding didn't come to the show... otherwise she'd have seen that I had to redo it all. At least we caught her before she took the liberty of wacking the mustangs mane off - which she did to my arab 3 years ago, while she was defaulting on the board to a tune of over $800. OOPS - I was supposed to talk about the good part - Aub took 3 firsts which I was really happy about, and 2 thirds which I wasn't. There were only 3-4 riders in the classes she took 3rd in - she just looked at the competition and decided she couldn't beat them, so she just bombed the classes. We have a lot to work on this week before county fair!

OK, so I started the day with a dreaded McMuffin on the way to the show, but have eaten lightly and perfectly OP since then. Lotsa H2O, too.

XENA & SASSY, I truly hope you find your focus again. This is SO worth it! But I understand totally about those times that it's illusive!

NANCY, Happy birthday again - it sounds like a pretty good one to me! I love the fingerlakes region!! Beautiful!! Swig a bit of the grape for me, wudja?

MISTI, As always, I'm SO impressed with your exercise! BRAVO!!

AMMI, sounds like a busy day at your house. Personally I love hilly gardens. I think they look so pretty. When I dream of my "Lottery house" it has an exit to a hilly garden... with a hottub in it.

VILANDRA, I know EXACTLY what you mean about the fast-food high and crash. All those chemicals, fats and sugars just play **** with with your whole system, then make you want them all over again! The best option is to put them aside 100% if that's possible, just like you said.

Well, I wonder if I post this if someone has already stopped this thread....
