I hope your Powderpuff weekend won't end up being a flop. It seems that sometimes people are all for taking part in something like that but want everybody else to do all the work. Good on you for saying you will do your bit and no more. It should be a shared responsibility! I really hope people make the effort, that it ends up being as fun as it sounds, and that you can make it a regular event!
I don't know if I would think that the 4th of July was an overrated holiday if I lived there, but I LOVE fireworks, so any excuse to have them would be a good one for me
