Peach I am glad that Jiff is looking better. I hope that she will be better in a short time. I hope that she gave the thought to the nurse and doc(s) I wish that i was her nurse. I would be in my glory.

I also want to relate a story i just read in my new womans's day mag. I just got it today. and what was one of the articles??? Overweight and Undertreated. It is about women who are overweight and every problem is related to being obese. and they are not given the proper treatment. one woman was having sever abd pain and was told she had a stomach bug--it was an eptopic pregnancy another was given diet pills for being tired and having numbing in her face, told to come back when she lost weight--she was in the final stages of severe mono.

We need to take a lesson from Jiff and Peach. we need to stand up for our selves even when it is against a doc. They are human and prone to making mistakes and being prejudice. If we know that we are right then stand strong. Hurray for peach Jiff, Mom, and nott-Jiff. we are here if you need us!

I started a few years ago not accepting that everything wrong with me was weight related. I have so much power now over my medical care it is unreal.

I have a great doc, who does not feed me a line. It took going through a few idiots to find her, but I did it.

I will allow them to say my weight could be making something worse, but it is not always the only cause. Take my knees for instance, I would be an idiot to not know that taking some of the weight of my knees will help them, I don't need a doctor to tell me this. But while the weight is here, treat me, you would treat a thin person with knee problems so treat the overweight also.

Okay, I will stop now, I could really get on a soapbox with this one.

Seriously, it's not a problem. Peach estimates we're around 40 min away (and I concur)... so even if it's just a ride to the hospital from the airport, I'd be happy to do so.

Jusdt got back home and flew into my computer room to find out how Jiff's doing and how hot the dr.'s ears are from you telling them off. I wish I could go there and give you guys bigs hugs (and I mean BIG! ) and kick some dr. butt while I'm there! Hope you are doing OK Peach and remembering to take some time for yourself in the middle of this madness. Jiff, I hope you are happy and proud of your sis for being not only an awesome human being but being your champion--I wish I had a sister like that! God Bless and lots of tears and hugs... awww gee, now I'm all weepy and everything--oh Peach you're just awesome, you know that???

Pooky, you are the sweetest thing! I think you are pretty "awesome" yourself! I am still working on painting that darn leaf and you have most likely finished your daughters room by now!!! AND! I still have only a couple of walls painted in my family room!!! Besides, I am not used to being called such nice words...I am used to things like "Ugly Bucket" from the little guy!

Susan,I subscribe to WD and read that article before all this happened...I am sure that it was in the back of my mind while I was smoldering! (it is in the issue with the recipes on how to make 4 different types of cookies out of one dough batch right?) Just because I am fluffy doesn't make me stupid! I learned that from Debkay

Janice, Jiff was overwhelmed with the thought that you may come and visit but she would rather have a beach party or some other type of party when she is strong and healthy...sort of a celebration of her endurance! (would that not be fun!!!)

Been away for a few days, and look at all that’s been going on! Reading all these posts at once really makes an impact -- you girls are great!

Peach, you'll get through today's meeting just fine, and don't worry about keeping *completely* collected. A little heat might be the wake-up call that some of these docs need. You should print out this whole thread and bring it with you for moral support and, if need be, ammunition. Sometimes I think the medical community is way out of touch with how much laypeople actually know, not to mention how the docs themselves are perceived by us. The days of women likening their doctors to God are long gone!

You go girl! Things are going to change for your sister after today, and hopefully, any patient who comes after with similar symptoms and difficulties.

I am new here but want you to know I have read this whole thing and think of you often...I hope this all turns out well for everyone...my prayers are with you and Jiff....

You've got some curious people here Peach, hope everything went the way you and your sis wanted it!

I won't go into the details.

That said, I had a lovely visit with two incredibly lovely ladies. What a wonderful thing to meet Jiff and Peach up close and personal. I know one of the things that both of them have treasured through this entire ordeal has been the love and loyalty of this group. Blessings on you and all of yours for the support you've given them.

Again, I won't go into details, because it's not my news, but suffice to say, I think Peach has got 'em where they need to be.

I only have a minute, and I will give you the details tomorrow...I had to do it by phone because dh had a dr appointment about his wrist surgery.

It went very well! Although after seeing Jiff I got an ear full from one of the nurses that I must have gotten in big trouble! And ya know what? that did not bother me on little tiny weensie bit! I sat there looking at her and not saying one word until she finally FINALLY apologized! I am sane...she's a nut case! (now now now...I know what you are thinking!)

BUT! The best news was that I got to meet Casey!!!!!! What a terrific gal she is and I am grateful to her for the time and attention she gave Jiff and me. LOVE THAT GAL...COLLAR AND ALL!

Gotta run...I here there is an old chick around here with a new haircut!!!!
