I hope everyone has a great day!
  • Hi All,

    Angie, you're doing great!

RR, Peter had meatal stenosis, so they fixed that. Even though Robby was "technically" circ'd, you couldn't tell because of the dumbarse that did it. I even told him ahead of time to get it right, because my MW warned me that he was conservative. It's always bothered me, because he doesn't look circ'd, but at his 15 mon. appt., the ped showed me that the skin had started to "heal" or attach or whatever around the rim, and when he pulled it down, Robby screamed bloody murder. So we went to the Urologist with both of them and he said he could fix both, no big deal.

Peter did great! He kept asking "what are they going to do to me?" and DH told him they're going to tickle him. DH went in with him until they got him out, and when the dr. came out like 15 min. later and brought us to the recovery room, Peter was awake. He was a little whiney, but the nurse said he came out of the anesthesia well. He immediately wanted to go home, but they had to monitor his vitals for a little bit and they wanted him to drink...I guess to make sure he didn't throw up.

Anyway, he just pee'd for the first time and cried that his pee-pee hurt. I gave him some ibuprofen and then made my mom put the creme in...I was cringing at the thought. DH & I must've had the weirdest looks on our faces when they told us we had to put the little tube tip in there and squeeze some antibiotic ointment in, but my mom just did it for the first time and Peter didn't even twitch...in fact he held his pee-pee in place for her!

OK, enough about that...sorry if that was TMI for some of you!!

It's rainy and cold here today...staying inside and watching movies I guess.
  • Lauren, I thought I was the only one that happened to! My #1 ds had a 5cm attachment after a crappy circumsicion, also at the base of the tip....took him to the Urologist when he was nearly two and the dumba$$ suggested he just pull it (TEAR IT) right then and there...I was like , ummmm how bout NO! The Dr. said the head was too porious and he could not administer a local anisthetic (sp?) , he advised me to pull at it several times a day until it released but this ened up being extremely uncomfortable to DS, so I waited til he was older and had an out patient procedure done when he was 9. It just had to be done before any real growth happened. This procedure they used a local (!!??) and he had two stiches and its like it never happened, with DS #2 I was sure to check him in the Hosp. for any attachments and he is perfect. I'm really glad your ordeal was short lived!

RR, My lord thats HOT....I will now refrane from complaining about my meager 85 degrees.
  • Stevi!! OMG, that's insane!! I can't believe the dr. suggested that!! DH & I are having mixed feelings about having it done at this point, since it's not *necessary*, but it drives me crazy, and the thing that sealed it for me is that my DCP's DS, who is 20, recently asked her why he wasn't circ'd. She was like, HUH?! Same thing, didn't take enough off. So she told me she wanted the Urologist's name. She told her son to have it looked at, she doesn't want to see it at 20 y/o! BTW, they will do it under general, not local...not crazy about that, but after seeing how well Peter did today, I feel better about it.
  • Lauren--From a surgical nurse viewpoint--We have men 20's to 50 's comming in for circs because of infections etc..U R smart to do it now..I would say that a circ revision and the meatotomy are our most common procedure--We have more redo's than anything..

    Stevie--what a jerk MD!!!
Take care...glad that Peter did good!!!!

  • Woah, thanks for sharing all those lovely images in my head! That is more than I will ever need to know, I think.

Well, I am back from the interview, and didn't get the job. I have my resume out to a couple more places though, So I am not feeling too desperate ~ yet! Once those are exausted, I think that I will have to go to a recruiter. I honestly don't know of anything else. Hopefully something comes along soon.
