I have looked for this brownie mix and can't seem to find it where I live. Does anyone have the nutritional content so I can try and find something similar at the store?

If you will go to DWLZ.com and go to the Message Board thread. Go all the way to the bottom to the recipe section. Click on Chocolate Recipes. There is a thread pretty near the top by boycrazyx4.

She made up her own muffin recipe cloning No Pudge Brownies and then took my recipe and combined them. Her second recipe on 7/28/01 is the combined one. I have not tried it yet. Hope this helps.

There may be other low fat brownie mixes out there. The nutrition on Betty Crocker Sweet Rewards is: 18 servings from a 9 x 13 pan
Per serving: calories 130, fat 2.5g, fiber 1 g.

I discovered the other day that Betty Crocker has changed the box design for these brownies. Look for Betty Crocker Brownies.
Now look at the bottom strip across the bottom of the package front. There is where it says Sweet Rewards.

Hi Mary Dave! I like in Sydney and we DO have Kashi here, I think Turro would have it, Halifax definately does. If you have a SuperStore with a health food dept try there it's alos at our helath food store here in town.

I made these last night, using the canned pumpkin, and they are DELICIOUS! Just sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth, but not so over the top sweet that I can't eat them for breakfast.

However, my batch made a dozen muffins, not 20 or 14 as some others here have posted. I wonder what is up with that?
Since the whole recipe has 19.5 points, I've been counting these as 1.5 points each. Still, what a bargain!

I made these chocolate muffins yesterday, however, I did NOT have the Betty Crocker Sweet Rewards Brownie mix on hand. I did have a box of FF Krusteaz Brownie mix which I substituted for the BC brand. They turned out great! I used all the other ingredients as mentioned in the recipe with this exception. Yummy!! Even DH who is a chocoholic thought they were fantastic! This is just another way of making these scrumptious muffins.

I went to the store this morning and looked for this brownie mix and didn't find it BUT... I did find Betty Crocker "Carb Monitor" brownies (mix is 80 cals, 2.5 fat, and 4 fiber) I'm thinking if you use apple sauce instead of oil and use a white and 1

egg (sorry, hit the reply button) instead of 2 eggs that this comes out to 1 or 1.5 pt per brownie WITHOUT the cereal added in so this might be a good substitute. I'm going to make them tonight.

I'm doing WW since thuesday night (after my prenancy, my baby as 3 month today!) and i will try your recipe tonight! It look's very YUMMY!!!

Update: I understand there are Betty Crocker Brownie mixes out there now that have about the same nutrition as the old Sweet Rewards had. Just use the mix for the Choc. Bran Muffins but don't add applesauce for the oil or eggs. Just use the dry mix with the ingredients on the first post. i.e. Kellogg's All Bran Extra Fiber Cereal (Gen't Mills Fiber One has the same nutrition as Kelloggs All Bran and the same 'bud' texture so it should work) soaked in water and brownie mix with added baking powder.

In Southern Calif. we have a grocery store called Ralph's that is a Kroger chain. They sell a reduced fat brownie mix.

Here is the muffin and/or brownie mix I posted back in 1999 or 2000- sometimes it will come up in searches and other times it won't, its such an old post. I get request for it every once in awhile, so I thought I would repost again. I rewrote it as a mix, since that is how most people wanted to use it. The regular recipe is below.


Christine's Chocolate Muffins...or Brownies Mix
Dry ingredients:
1-1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
¼ cup powder milk, dry

Put ¼ cup powder milk mix in food processor and process until it is very powdery & flour-like**. Put the processed powdered milk & all the other dry ingredients in a zip lock bag & store accordingly. This mix also makes a very nice 'jar gift' for anyone who is watching what they eat, but still needs a chocolate treat from time to time.


For Muffins:
Additional Ingredients:
2/3 cup nonfat unsweetened yogurt ***
½ cup + 2-3 Tablespoon water***
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Preheat over to 400F
Pour dry mix into medium sized mixing bowl and add additional wet ingredients as listed. Mix until just combined (do not over mix).
Divide batter evenly in 12 lined muffin cups.
Bake at 400º for 15-20 min.
SERVINGS: 12 muffins; 110 calories, 0 fat, less then 1 gram of fiber, 2 pts each




For Brownies:
Additional Ingredients:
1 cup nonfat unsweetened yogurt***
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Preheat over to 350F
Pour dry mix into medium sized mixing bowl and add additional wet ingredients as listed. Mix until just combined (do not over mix).
Spread into a 8"x8" pan that has been sprayed with Pam type spray.
Bake at 350 for 16-22 minutes.
Cut into 16- 2" x 2" squares. 85 calories, 0 fat, less then 1 gram fiber, & 1.5 pts each

Baking Notes:
**I process a cup or more of dry powered milk up at a time for various recipes. Using my digital scales, I know 1/4 cup weighs 1/2 ounce. If you don't have a food processor (or clean coffee grinder), you can skip this step- it does help the powdered milk dissolve better when you prepare the batter, but it isn't absolutely critical.
***Yogurt can have different amounts of moisture/liquid from one carton to another. I also end up freezing mine for baking a lot of the time since I don't always use as much as I thought I would before its use by date. If it is very watery, I pour the excess liquid off and save it- add it in if it seems like the batter needs a little more liquid. Sometimes, the amount of water added will need to be adjusted a little too.

Some people tried Splenda with good results- you need some real sugar so I wouldn't substitute more then ½ of the sugar- I would start with ¼ cup Splenda & ½ cup Sugar and see how it tastes and substitute more Splenda until you find the right mix for your taste.

You could also try using some whole wheat flour- I never really played around with it in this recipe & now I can't handle that much chocolate, so I won't get a chance to play with it any more to tweak it.

Non-Mix/Regular Recipes
Muffins:
