Ok I called my doc but he is not in on Wed. ? hummm They suggested I got to the ER. So I called DH because I have to pick the girls up at 3 to see if he could come and do it. Well you know men...go get some Pepcid or summin and take it and if after you take that if you still have it then when I get home this evening I'll take you to the ER. I went and got the Pepcid Complete and took it about 20-30 minutes ago but the heartburn is still here. I don't know how long it is supposed to take to work. I know it sure has left a crappy taste in my mouth! I was not to happy with DH especially considerin I have only been to the ER one time since we have been married and it was due to a ruptured cist on my overy! Anyway I'm sure I will be fine. I do feel like i am runnin a temp but I can't find a thermometer. Just wanted to let ya chickies know what was happenin. Thanks for all your concern! Good to know someone worries! lol

Barnie - Geez, does DH mean Damn Hubby today or Dear Hubby?! If you don't feel well by the time he comes back, go to the ER. They didn't have another doctor on call since your doc's out? Weird...

I woke up from my nap just to say that DH's can be such buttheads sometimes. If it were him, you know he'd be making you drag him to the ER (either that or he'd just sit there and whine about it all day just to drive you crazy). Those big, macho men always seem to turn into babies when they're sick.

Take care of yourself today. If the Pepcid doesn't start working soon, get to the ER. If your doctor's office recommended you go to the ER, then do it! Keep us updated!

Well I am goin to take the girls to soccer practice and if I still have it I am goin to come by and pick up DS (unless he makes me mad as well) and take him with me to the ER. It seems DH feels he should go to the Booster Club meetin after practice before he comes home to take me to the ER! Let's just say I am not to happy right now but..... Anyway I guess I will learn where the ER is today! I know where the pediatric one is since I have taken DS several times for sickness but not the regular one. Thanks chicks for all your concern! Bami - I'm getting my stick that I used to use on my X husband and I'm going to come and visit your husband. Pepcid should take 30 - 60 minutes max to work! I can't believe your doc didn't have you come in. I would be complaining if anything is wrong. Doesn't sound like much concern there.

Chinkydragonfly - that is so weird. My SIL had the same thing happen to her but she was in the hospital for 75 days. She didn't drink, ran 5 miles a day, and ate things like dried fried egg white omlets with aspargus for breakfast. She almost died.

LOL Anchor. I can't even imagine being in the hospital for 75 days. I was so miserable after 8! I'm diabetic so they think it might have been the meds I was on, but no confirmation. Geez, my hospital bill was crazy after 8 days, I can't even imagine your SIL!

I meant to get in before this, but my day got busy. BAMIE!!!!! I hope you got to the ER and found out what's wrong, we're all pretty worried! I hope it's just a stubborn bout of heartburn, but the way you describe it, you never know. I get an occasional bout of it, but TUMS usually takes care of it. My mother told me she heard a Dr. on TV saying we should just swallow a spoonful of vinegar and it would cure it immediately, so I tried it and thought I was going to die. But within a few minutes the heartburn was gone, so it did work, but I'm not ready for THAT experience again soon. Anyway, Bamie, please let us know how you're doing, I'll be thinking of you all night.

Chinkydragonfly - My SIL still to this day doesn't know what caused it. They said if she wasn't so healthy when it happened she would have never made it. I was taking DS to the Lake Michigan for the first time. He was 3. The big lake beaches are kind of like the ocean so it was very packed. I had just dragged all our blankets and crap down to the water when my cell phone rang it was my mom calling to say that SIL had been rushed to ER and her condition was critical. I told her to keep me posted and that DS and I would stay for a little while and then leave. She called back 30 minutes later and was crying - she's a nurse so you know it is bad when they cry. So we beelined it back to town. Yes 75 days in the hospital. Luckily she had very good insurance and my brother (her hubby) also had very good insurance and they always paid extra and carried each other. I never found out how much the final bill was but it was close to a million. They paid a couple of thousand for co-pays and stuff but they really got lucky. Even to this day they can't tell her why it happened. They think it may be something that is heriditary. She is now diabetic too. She is almost back to running - she walks 5 miles a day now but hasn't been able to run 5 miles a day yet. This happened 4 years ago.

Somebody told DS at school today a story about bed bugs. I just went in there and his eyes are wide open like eggs. He is very concerned about bed bugs. I tried to tell him not to worry but he is petrified. Oh well looks like maybe another tardy tomorrow.

Ok Chickies I did go to the ER. OMG the crowd! Where is RNMOM when I needed her! lol Anyway she thinks it may be ulcers. She gave me 2 stomach meds and something for pain. I will not take the pain med. I still have the heartburn because I can't take the med for it yet. I didn't know it would be an hour before or 2-3 hours after you eat med and when I left the ER I was starvin since I had not ate all day and I ate. Well further readin I discovered not only 2-3 hours after you eat but 2 hours before bedtime. Well after spending 5 hours in the ER I don't know that I could stay up til 2 in the morning just to take the med. Looks like I will be sleepin in the couch recliner again tonight! Y'all are so sweet for checkin on me. They took blood did an EKG and a chest x-ray. She said to see my doc this week. I think I may just try to see a gastro doc instead. I don't have to have a referal so hopefully I can get in. I'm sure most of you are sleepin by now. Sweet dreams all. Thanks again! Oh I did take myself ds rode along with me but then was ready to go home when it came time for his friends to play their online game and called DH to come get him and by the time he got there I was gettin ready to go home. lol

Did they draw for an h-pylori? Did they give you a GI cocktail, you should have been able to get instant results with that. Hopefully lipase and amylase were checked as well.

They did give me a GI cocktail but it did not relieve it. The rest listed I have no idea! lol She took about 3 or 4 vials. I was very nice to her! She was a lil snotty at first but I won her over! lol
