Here's Ilene's Tourtiere recipe that she gave me last year. It got rave reviews from my resident Canucks! But it's not low fat
Quote:
Reveillon Tourtière
1T vegetable oil
2 lb ground pork (I’ve used 3 lb+ and the recipe is fine, I also use a mixture of meats this week I used 1lb of each pork, veal, and beef, I’ve even used turkey mixed with pork and it was fine...)
1.5 cup or can of chicken stock
2 onions – options
1 cup celery – optional
garlic – optional
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon, pepper and savory
¼ tsp ground clove
1 cup bread crumbs
½ fresh parsley – optional
Cook meat and add ingredients up to ground cloves and simmer till liquid is reduced to 2T liquid.
Stir in breadcrumbs and parsley.
Bake in a pie shell, I use about 1 lb of meat / pie. Bake at 400F for first 10 minutes then reduce heat to 325F for 15 minutes.
