Ahhh...I had to stop and take a break. I got laundry going, I had to take the trash out since it's trash day...fed the critters, saw that one of our Koi fish is dead...then I stopped in front of a mirror and just stared.

Here's how I look:

Big baggy sweat pants, Big baggy sweatshirt (thank goodness I thought to throw that on since I was wearing a wife beater most of the morning), makeup all smeared from day before (went to bed without washing my face!! ) slippers that are falling apart, and my hair all pulled up with a clip that is hanging to one side...a mess. With a cup of coffee in one hand. I look like a woman who had a rough night last night and is trying to make up for it this morning!!

Now...it's one thing to be this way roaming around the house...but I've been in and out of my house to deal with the recycling and the trash!! Oh what the neighbors must think of me!! I just stood in front of that mirror and thought "Ewwww"

So after this I'm headed to the shower!!

Oh another thing I wanted to mention. Tip for the day...when you're ready to go to bed, and you're making sure all the doors are locked and the dogs are in and so on...before you go to your room...make sure have a light on so you can see!! Last night I turned off all the lights in the house and was making my way to my room...and I totally misjudged where the door was...slammed my face right into it!! Nothing like bruising my ego!! Boy...did I see stars out last night!!

Ok....enough about my life here in Oregon....Hee-hee...I need to go get cleaned up. And get ready to head off to Eugene.

Marti - I just about busted a gut picturing you running smack into a door in the dark. What a hoot. I actually did that once, but caught my little toe on a corner and snapped it sideways. What can you do for a broken toe, but scream? Not much else. And I couldn't even do that because everyone else in the house was asleep. And then, to look a mess in the morning, and go outside. You must sit around and watch talk shows all day, eating bon bons, right?

RosieKate - What is wrong with those people, not wanting to help out and saying "don't watch". Some people just make me sick. That's cool that your FIL can design a fort in the yard. I would love a Frank Lloyd Wright if you can arrange it for me!

Jana - The catalog is at www.terrysvillage.com They have some really great stuff, and the prices are excellent. I ordered a few fall items last year and love them.

I called the vet this afternoon to check on my girls, they were just waking up and not real happy. But they did have pain medicine. I had their teeth done too, poor things, everything must hurt. One apparently has gingivitis and some sores in her mouth, so she will be on meds for awhile. UGH. They are just like kids. I can pick them up tomorrow after work. I have to get their bedroom ready tonight. I didn't get to it yesterday. I'd like to have my vacuuming upstairs done too, so I don't scare them with it. Ahhh, so much to do and here I sit.

I am slowly getting back to my life here. Today I met my DD and DGD's for lunch at ChiChi's. It was half price margarita's, but I didn't think I should drink and drive. Some people can have one and be fine, I drink so seldom that one makes me verrrry drowsy. So, I had a lunch salad and some chips, talked and laughed with the girls and enjoyed myself. Went to the grocery afterward and now have some food to cook in the house.
Jana- Not much to say about my time away. There was a really long day with the viewing and then the funeral the next day. My dad's sister and her family had a big meal set up for between the viewings and the church put on a meal after the funeral. I was so pleased with the plot as it was on top of the hill and looked over a valley with an old timey white clapboard church which has a steeple. Just such a lovely, peaceful view. I felt good about leaving Dad there. Does that make sense?

Now, I am back to concentrating on finding out what my trouble is. I go the 29th for a scope to the stomach and a colonoscopy. Then to my Dr. for a paps, to the hospital for a mammo.....I feel like a lab rat!!!

Back to walking last night and trying to eat half way right. Hopefully I will see results if I can keep it up.

A quick pop in...I'm getting ready to head back to Eugene to get Jhanai for the week.

How is everyone doing? I stopped by my grandpa's on the way home...he was loading wood...actually unloading it. So I helped him with that. Didn't want him to overwork himself in the sun...I'd hate to see him have a heart attack!! (he had one years ago...maybe 15yrs. and I still watch him!)

Came home to a hot house...but since I'm in and out all day I don't want to keep the A/C on while I'm away.

RosieKate - the tree fort sounds so cool! I would've loved something like that when I was a kid. Oh my goodness... I thought chat was LAST night!! No wonder Marti and I were the only 2 there, lol!!! Seemed like Thursday yesterday....

Marti - so why are you seeing an advisor if it's any of MY beeswax?? I used to love camping out (indoors, lol) with the kids. We would spread out a red checked table cloth in the middle of winter and pretend we were having a picnic, lol. One time we even dragged out out shorts and wore some leis left over from New Years Eve, lol.

Jen - hey thanks for the catalog url. Glad your babies are doing well and I know you will pamper them when they get home. Are you off this weekend?

Sue - yes, I do understand about the serene burial plot for your dad. My folks are buried under a big shade tree, and I know they would like it if they knew. :Remind us when it's closer to time for your tests and we'll send good vibes for it.

I went to the eye doc and found out that I have very healthy eyes. Also, he asked how I have been losing weight. (my last visit was 16 mos. ago) So I told him about WW and the Jaded Ladies. Were your ears burning. I am getting the glasses that have the frames - which they call a chasis (sp?) - actually bolted to the lens. The lens will be the non-glare and are sort of rectangular. The frames are "dark sand" color, and not shiny at all. I love them!! They won't be available for about a week, because they have to send them off to get the non-glare finish. I was astounded at the cost, but they are worth it to me.

Don't forget - tonight is chat night!! I thought yesterday was Thursday, lol, but I'll be there tonight, too, lol.

Good morning y'all
Well the tree fort is going to be pretty cool. We have a steep hillside in our back yard and FIL designed it to go in the back corner, coming out of the hillside so it will seem like it has two stories. Now it's time to dig for the foundation...hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go.

Also had a nice chat with my grandma yesterday, as it was her 82nd birthday. She's my dad's mom and i hadn't had a chance to talk to her since Dad's announcement about his remarriage. She's very sad - told my dad she felt like she never really knew him if he could want DXW back after all the hurt over the years. Ouch. That's actually a pretty reserved response from her - she's been know to peel off wallpaper with some of her tirades. Needless to say, she's a complicated character, but she and I have always had a bond as I am the oldest grandchild and I was named for her. Our conversation didn't involve alot of petty sniping, but we talked about how we have both, in our way, worked to find happiness in our lives. Dad's news isn't going to change any of that, we just feel real sad.

Hope all the JLs are having a great day - Chat last night was sure fun. I'm going to have to make an effort to get there on Thursdays. It was a nice safe place to confess my ice cream binge Jana - sorry I had a brain freeze about the whole Board thing - I looked back over that and I thought "She must think I am such a ditz!"

OH well -off to dig!

Good Morning,,,well yes there was a great sale,,,but I was back home within a 1/2 hr. Thing is we had a horrible storm, hail and the whole bit. There was tornado warnings a bit north of us. This is common now, seems to be in the last few years we have had a few twisters touch down,,,most times no damage but about 4 yrs ago we had a bad one touch down in a camp ground.
So I tried to wait out the storm but fell asleep around 10.
Next time...

Angie - waaaaaa! I want to go see the Mavericks too!! Give Milo a kiss for me. We;ve had awful weather here too, and lost some strips off our shed. The wind blew down a huge limb off one of the trees, but we were lucky that was all. (Tuesday)

I've accomplished absolutely nothing today except to catch up on some sleep and made some phone calls that needed returned.

OMG I had soooo much fun! The MAvericks were fabulous,,,and I hope they come back real soon. This was an out door concert,,,which Im not fond of but for the Mavericks I would do anything...I admit i was thinking unpure thoughts....lol

I can't tell you the junk I ate,,,Elephant ears...I saw but didn't eat, a buttery corn on the cob, beef on a bun, then went back later for a corn dog...all I drank was water so I was good and bad.

I went a did a 3 card tarot reading,,,was told I am very nick picky, anxious and need to stop stressing...that the 3 major things in my life will settle down. I asked her what she ment by 3,,she said the medical problem, the work and the home life will stop being a trial by Oct. Then she just out and out asked if I was a virgo...lol


well my day of excitment is done and I need to rest my barking dogs...
