The Green Party have candidates in all but a couple of ridings across Canada. It would so sweet if they could get a seat or two in this election.

Ellis and Mauvais, does the Green Party in Canada stand for the same things as the Green Party in the States? (basically environmentally based)

Also, Mauvais, where did the August challenge begin? Did I miss a thread? (probably! )

Good morning everyone

Well I made it through the 3rd day and stayed OP!

DH and I went for an hour long walk before dinner last night it was gorgeous out -we walked through the bike paths along the Ottawa River and the up to Paliament Hill.

As we were walking along we saw some people playing team frisbee on the front lawn of the Supreme Court of Justice! Then there were more people playing frisbee on the front lawn of the House of Parliament - I love this City!

We also visited the stray cat sanctuary that is on the grounds of Parliament Hill - it is so cool! In the 70's a lady started bringing food for the stray cats that were living in the bushes behind the House of Parliament and continued until her death in 1987 whereupon an couple took over taking care of them.

I haven't been by there in a while and they have now built shelters for the cats that look like little houses to protect them from the elements and they are behind an iron fence so that people can't just walk in on the cats territory.

We saw several cats - all clean and very friendly (and neutered to keep the population from exploding), squirrels and a really cute groundhog living there all in harmony with each other. We also put a couple of $ in the donation box to help buy food for them since the man taking care of them is a pensioner and doesn't receive any help from any agencies to feed these cats and does it out of his own pocket.

It is so cool that we have something like this in our city.

Well it is Friday and I did really well this week - I think anyway

I managed to stay OP, got lots of exercise and did not eat any ice cream

Now I have to face my biggest challenge...the weekend!

My plan is to get up early on Saturday morning and exercise, eat a proper breakfast and then go meet some friends at 10:00 a.m. for a road trip. I dug out our little cooler and I am filling it with grapes, celery and cheese, water and a bottle of Crystal Light etc. etc. so that I will not eat junk on the road.

Here goes!

Her Vorpal sword goes snicker-snack, and another pound bites the dust. More importantly, another 1/4" off the hips. I think I'll treat myself to golf today, rather than messing about with weights and machines. Very hot and sunny here.

It's all about being environmentally conscious, being fiscally responsible, promoting preventative health-care, etc. You know... the basics. Living a morally responsible life.

Well I did pretty good on the road trip yesterday - stuck to plan- even though we went to the Hershey chocolate factory for the tour DH bought some stuff but most of it was stuff I don't care for so I won't be tempted to eat it.

Got some walking in too!

Today we are taking my dad out so that will be another food challenge.

I read my WW materials over again last night to get some motivation and stay on track-and I am all fired up to go today!

aand my big accomplishment this week is : hopped in the car and made bad food choices for mickey d's breakfast hubby was sleeping and normally doesn't eat breakfast . brought my big ol greasy steak bagel home saw hubby getting out of bed and gave it to him and had herbal tea and poached egg w/ toast instead.

I haven't been eating much this weekend, it's too damn hot. But I was bad and forgot to put a water bottle in the car, going shopping. Feh! The car doesn't even have air conditioning. Well, it's got 315,000 miles on it, so it'll have to be replaced someday, although it thinks it's immortal. We call it Marcel Proust, because when we're in it we're always trying to make up for lost time.

And I bought some stuff at Meier and Frank. The Calvin Klein bridge line is at 50 - 75% off. It turns out I'm a size 8 in jackets, 10 in blouses, and a 10 or 12 in pants. Yep, you guessed it, a J.Lo special. Oh well, my DH loves it-- or is he just being nice? Do guys really like a big ***? I'm so clueless...

Yes, apparently they do love a big butt. My sister is tiny with a big butt, and she claims it gets a lot of attention.

So how come we don't wear big 'ol butt bras with the lifting and the separating and lots of cleavage? I could use one of those.
