Hello, everyone! I stumbled upon this forum last night while looking for South Beach support & I am certainly glad to have found it. I am in Day 2 of Phase 1. So far, so good. I only had a few moments of what you might call withdrawl last night when I was craving a sweet very badly

But I hear if I can get through the first few days, the rest is easy as pie (pardon the food reference).
I have struggled with my weight for years. It's partly heredity and partly just bad eating habits. In college, I gained a lot of weight (and I had been heavy to begin with!!) so about 6 years ago, I just "dug in" and lost about 80 - 100 pounds by watching what I ate and exercising. Since then I have mostly maintained by weight but a few pounds have recently snuck back on. I exercise regularly and eat relatively healthy during the week, but I go crazy on the weekends.
I would like to lose approx. 40 - 50 pounds so I can be at my ideal weight, and I realized that this requires not so much a diet but a lifestyle change ~ hence, I am now on South Beach.
