  • Good morning to you all. It stayed pretty warm overnight and should be a nice day today. I am going out this morning to get my nails done and get some stuff at WM then coming home and watching the Cubs. They have to play a double header today because of all the rain they had over the weekend and the beginning of the week.

I cleaned bathrooms and did a load of laundry yesterday. I am going to try and get upstairs and dust after I get home, but if I don't I will get to it tomorrow.

Jack is having crab cakes and I am having cold shrimp for dinner tonight. Quick and easy. I usually just do some tater tots with it and salad. Very easy cleanup.

Jean: I don't know if you like pineapple upside down cake, but I have a recipe for one that goes in a bundt cake pan. She makes her own cake, but you could just stir up a boxed cake and put on it. Let me know if you want it and I will email it to you. The kids soccer teams seem to be doing pretty well this year. When you post they always seem to have won their game. Lot of farm land out by the commissary and doesn't look like they have planted yet either. Usually by this time you see stuff, especially corn. They do a lot of cotton and it usually is up by this time too though they usually pick it in October.

Everyone have a great day today and hope where you are is sunny skies.
Maggie hope you are ok and Hi to Susan.
  • Good Evening! We got up to rain, rain, and more rain today. The sun finally came out late this afternoon. It was a lazy day for me! I putzed around the house until I left for lunch bunch. I was going to get groceries this afternoon but decided to wait until tomorrow since it was raining. I came home and did some laundry so called it good for the rest of the afternoon. Bob was going to go up to the cabin and mow but the rain took care of that. The Orioles are here again although they are a week behind this year. The one lonely hummingbird was pecking at a red wind ornament in the tree this morning. We put a feeder out but I haven't see him/her since.

"Gma," I don't think I have ever had pineapple upside down cake. I wish there were recipes for two pieces of cake, pie, etc. The bakery used to make half and quarter pies; the hospital coffee shop has home made pies and sometimes I will buy two pieces to bring home. Maddy's team is undefeated this year. Most of the girls have played together since she started so they know how each other play. Kolby's team mates are all older than he is, and have more experience. I think his team has lost a game or two when we haven't been there.

I need to iron a shirt and then head to bed. Have a terrific Thursday tomorrow!
