School hasn't started yet.. I think that they will be lucky if they get to go back before Sept. here. Many of the schools are being remolded, one of the schools doesn't have a roof,oe doesn't have heat nor air and one doesn't have electric. One of these days there will be school here. It sounds af if I have missed alot. Can't wait to get caughted back up. Gotta run right now everyone have a great weekend!

Gosh Sandy, thats awful about the schools. Does your son have to bus to another district or county then for school?? And why did they wait so long to get everything going in them, like the air/heat/electric and such. Wow, looks like the state would be pushing them to get online! Wont this make them have to go to school longer this coming term? I hope it all gets worked out soon. Mine are loving it so far. They have always enjoyed school. Getting them up in the mornings have never been a prob. Its getting them to bed, lol. My oldest would be in the 10th. He stayed back twice though. He was very upset by it. Especially since him and his younger brother are in the same grade now. But he is more determined than ever to succeed now. He has ADD. His father and I chose not to put him on ritalin. To just help him the best we could. The grades he failed were early on, before we knew what was happening. The past 3 years though, he has really come a long way. Im proud of him. I think age makes a difference.

yes, Sandy, it's great to see you are stopping by. Hope your puter situation works out soon! I would go thru withdrawl too! That is terrible about your schools! Political readtape, I suppose. My kids go back August 25th--which is too soon for me! I would keep them home till it snows! I hate the structure of the school year! Soccer season starts next week!! Double yuck! But atleast this season two of my kids have practice on the same day--that will help. The weather this summer has been for the most part--rainy and sucky--so I can't wait to sit in all these lovely elements during the games, as I don't see much of a change in our weather future. I hate when we get cheated out of a summer.

I had a "having a baby dream" last night! Yikes--I hate those! Do you guys ever get those? I was in the hospital and in labor. Anyway...I'm still recovering from that dream...

I sort of started phase 2 of the diet yesterday. Had my first bowl of cereal with skim milk in two weeks. It tasted so good! But I didn't have any tortilla chips at lunch nor potato at dinner. I did have a sinful (but delicious) piece of bday cake from the party my son went to yesterday. I couldn't say "no", it smelled devine. Oh well..the rest of the day was good!

It was a busy weekend and week so far. Saw my brother and SIL and all the neices and nephews. They moved back home from Kansas. Gosh the kids have gotten so HUGE! We were supposed to have gone to the baby's first B-day party tonight, I just didnt have the energy to drive all the way there and back at night. I hated missing it. But my brother understood. Ill see them again this weekend.

I did get to walk tonight. NO RAIN! Woohooo. Then when I got home, my youngest son and I planted some potted flowers my MIL bought me. I do not have a green thumb. So Im praying they survive and thrive!

How is eveyrone doing? Its awful quiet here! Sandy, how are you? Renee, how is SBD still going? You have started phase 2 now I see. How is it??? I know you must be glad to have some of the foods added back!

Kevin, thanks for your supportive comment in my journal! It put a smile on my face! I guess all my ranting paid off, cuz last night when he got home from work--he checked on the pool and did a few things around the yard. He also helped get the kids to bed. And that I really have to work on cuz school is in just 2 meesly weeks and they are still going to bed at around 11 pm and waking past nine. Gotta change that. One of many things I hate about August.

Sorry to hear your family falls into that same habit. I am sure it is twice as hard when you work too. Thank God I do not work outside my house. I would go crazy. I am just too much of a control freak and neat freak to deal with coming home to mess and I know I would just pick up all the slack same as now and probably really work myself into a rampage. I know in the scheme of things it's just not that important--but I have a problem functioning if everything isn't just right. It is hard. God Bless you for working and taking care of your home and family!

That is great news you finally got together with your brother. I know how excited you were that they were moving to Georgia. it is so nice to have family near by. Sounds like you guys are pretty close too. I am that way with my brother who lives in New Jersey too and wish he would move back home. My kids adore him and my other brother too. I never had any aunts or uncles (my mom was an only child and my worthless fathers side--just disfunctional to say the least) but I see through my kids and my nieces and nephews how great it is.

SBD phase two is going pretty well. I am trying to limit myself to one complex carb a day. Yesterday I had 12-grain toast that was pretty tastey. Day before, I bought that Uncle SAm cereal--it was pretty good. High fiber, but not as expensive as fiber one. Gees--Fiber one was nearly $5 a box. I will wait until it goes on sale before I try it. I am still hanging on at 190. Which I am still happy about.

Glad to hear the rain is gone for awhile there. Here, it is like a darn broken record. Upper level low just spinning over us. Temps have been low (70's) and humidity has been between 80 and 90% almost everyday. It is the kind of dampness that gets into your joints. Ugh! Thank God I don't have artheritis! Areas around here continue to flood--as the ground is supersaturated now. And this has gone on for nearly a week now. I don't know about you but, I am ready to travel west--where it is hot and dry for awhile!

I have a doctor's appointment today at 2 for this ear. I hope she can give me a quick fix. Have a wonderful day and enjoy any sunshine you get!! Renee

Oh, I forgot to mention. Your flowers should do fine. What kind are they? Just remember, not too much water. (Although if you put them into the ground that is hard to do. ) And--miracle grow. That stuff is awesome. Take care! Renee

evening everyone. i sorta feel like a lost ball in high weeds. things are going rough here and i really haven't been getting to spend too much time on the puter lately but one of these days i will. you 2 have been an inspration to me lately and i need that so much right now. if only we all lived closer together then we could get together and have a girl gab seson. i have to go check in later.

The flowers do look so pretty in the backyard now! Maybe I can keep them going. Im gonna do all thats within my power! Ill get some of that Miracle Grow, Renee, and Ill try some of that. And with the way its been raining lately, water wont be a problem LOL. As far as what kind of flowers they are? Well, ummm, lets see, there is one called a shrimp tree, one called a lantana, and the 4 others are names I couldnt spell even if I had the cards that were attached to them still. LOL. Thats how flower illiterate I am!

Sandy, its great to see you post when you can! We miss not having you here, but we do understand your situation right now. I hope things are going better for you and I pray things get even better. Some things just take time. Dont rush it. Just know we think about you and are sending you lots of . It would be great if we lived closer. I love to talk hehe. Wind me up and I never stop! My mom always said I was vaccinated with a victrolin (sp) needle.

Renee, I was just glad to know my hubby and kids werent the only 3 men in the universe who just sat around, oops, let me rephrase that, LAY around, and watch. When I go nutty on them though, they just stare and then continue doing nothing. My husband will tell me later, "I know better than to mess with a rattlesnake. I just sit there til you slither off." Ha Ha. One day there isnt gonna be any clean underwear, towels, no supper, no soap, nothing. Then lets see how fast they move.

How did your doctor's appointment go? Were you able to get something to help with your ears? I hope so. How is your hubby's shingles? They sure have taken their time healing!

I'm new to the forum, been on Atkins since 10/02 and lost 80# but have become glucose intolerant so after lots of reading have decided to do SB to get everything under control, have more choices and hopefully get back to losing. Am taking thyroid med and waiting to see if it will be increased, hope so as still no energy. I have a Gazelle which I use daily, am disabled so this is only exercise I can do, as can't get out and walk anywhere. I'd like a buddy to take w/about weight loss and be encouraging. Thanks..Kriket

I dont follow any particular plan. I modified my diet and added lots of exercise and water. Ive lost 53 lbs since starting in March of this year. We hope to hear more from you soon. hey there everyone! i am up at a friends and i thought that i would check in again. i think that i am going to try to check out the south beach diet and see what it is all about, i am slowing down the weight loss so i thought that it might speed it up some. or i am hoping that it will. i am at a standstill right now i guess that the good thing is that i am not gaining any right now. the workouts are not comming along too good it is hard to do when i have a son that wont let me workout too long at a time. then there is the issues that i am going thur at home. richard is really giving me a hard time saying too many downgrading things to me all the time. the things are so awful it really hurts my feelings and in turn i get depressed so that makes things harder for me to deal with. i guess that this is one of those times that i really could use a good friend a shoulder to cry on so to speak. i have been called everthing but a good person. he recently had a fall and hurt himself and now he is asking for my help and degrading me and it is hurting me. i feel like having something awful done and that isnt in me so now i am a mess. i guess that i have brought you all down long enough

You havent brought me down at all Sandy. You say whats on your chest and in your heart at any time. Get it out! Im thinking about you and praying for all this to be over soon for you. Please just keep your chin up and dont let his harsh words get to you. They arent true. Never ever think that they are. It doesnt make them hurt less, but just know they are not true, he is only doing it to hurt you. Please post again soon.

First off, Sandy--I wish we all lived closer too. That really is a shame what Richard is doing to you--but you are so much stronger than you think! Stand tall and ignore what he is saying--Kevin is right, none of it is true. If it doesn"t get a reaction out of you--it will hopefully stop. Just remember--he is the one who wanted to end things here! I am so glad you could take the time to stop in. You are really missed and I too am praying for you to overcome and succeed. On the diet side--it is wonderful that you haven't gained. South Beach has been good to me--so if you need any info--just ask. I bought the book. Anyway, to you!

Kevin, I only know what the lantana's are. They are pretty! I am sure they will grow just fine! Yes, your men situation sounds so like mine. Joe says the same thing about me--only I am a "raving lunatic"--same difference though. And yes, they all avoid me when I go into battle mode too! Like "oh no, mom is having another attack or something--just stay clear incase she blows!" It's annoying.

Welcome to kriket. Congrats on loosing the 80#. That is such a wonderful accomplishment!! I have been doing the SBD and it has been good to me. I lost about 20 pounds basically following WW, but then stood very still for weeks. SBD jump started me into loosing again. Not to mention, freed me from the dreaded counting of points! The gazelle sounds like a excellent workout! I have a treadmill at home. This site and these wonderful ladies have been my saving grace many, many times!!

Thanks for asking about the ear. Left was flushed by nurse in doctor's office--is better--but now the right is blocked!! I was just there yesterday--and you would think when she spent her whole 2 seconds on me, she would have reccommended irrigating the right too--but nooooo! And I am steaming mad about it! I made a 11am appt for tomorrow--this is not my reg md, but someone in the office covering for her. I plan to give it to her big time and walk out of there not oweing a cent. Wish me luck!!

How is everyone doing this fine night? Things my way are pretty good. I didnt get home from work til 7. Had City Court again. This time they forgot to add our case to the docket, so we sat there for 2 hours for nothing. Now I have to go back AGAIN in Sept. This is getting old.

Renee, Im sorry to hear they did take care of BOTH ears. Its always like that when you dont see your regular doctor and someone else fillls in. I dont think Ive ever had my ears flushed before. How does that alleviate the pressure??? Give them the devil and insist that you dont pay for the same visit TWICE! That just wouldnt be right. They should have done a more thorough check the first time. Good luck!

Hello!

Sorry I missed posting yesterday! I got these ears taken care of and am feeling much better! The waterpick jet loosens and gets the impacted wax out of the canel. That is part of what was causing the diminished hearing. Then, once she can see the ear drum, she will know if ther is an infection of irritaion there. I squabbled up pretty good at the doctor's office and they were all apologetic to me! anyway, I now have a prescription for some antibiotic drops and clean ears! I hope to never go through that again!

Kevin, that sucks about court. Doesn't anyone respect anyone's time anymore? I hate it when someone incompetent doesn't do the job they are being paid to do! Sometimes it would be nice to just send them a bill ! I hope this is the last time they do this to you!

I had a bad day of eating yesterday, and hope to get back on track today. I was feeling kind of nauseous all day and just wanted comfort foods, I guess. And you know those comfort foods are never healthy! Make it a good one! Renee
