Rubens & Dentrassi ~ LMAO ~ reminds me of something... i talked my poor hubby into shaving "down south" for me... told him if there wasn't quite so much hair, i might find my way down there more often LOL... so, he shaved & hated the itchiness... SO, i talked him into letting me put Nair on him down there cuz i've used it before ~ BIG MISTAKE <<read: don't ever do this!>> he got a rash & it burned.... *oops!*
So, just for your info girls, if you'd like less hair on your guy down there, just have him trim w/ clippers...

Thanks for the advice!!! My DH probably wouldn't even go anywhere near there HIMSELF with clippers!!!

I get the eyebrows, upper lip and anything happening on the chin waxed regularly...however, on ocassion I have had burns from the wax...sometimes the wax can be too hot...so, make sure that you go to a professional in a reputable salon. I also use retin-A and that makes your skin more sensitive...last month i went to a new waxer because the old one had burned me maybe three times over the past four years or so...small reddened areas that peeled like a small little patch of sunburn...WELL, went to this new chick who told me, oh, honey, that woman was horrible to burn you...there are techniques to be used with folks who have sensitive skin and use retin-A...
well, of course, she used the special techniques and then applied some kind of ointment right after she pulled the wax off and the ointment contained tea tree oil.
I had burns all over! Basically everywhere the wax touched my skin my skin was bright red and sore...especially the whole area between my upper lip and my nose...it was so nasty!!! had to keep ice on it because it hurt, had to hear a lecture from my father who thought I was a total freak because he had no idea that women even did any such thing as to put hot wax on their faces, had to spend bucks on two prescriptions, westcort and silvadene ointment, plus bought over the counter antibiotic cream, not to mention the co-pay for the doctor's visit...and...the resident who was on call Sunday when I called the doctor's office, a sweet young woman said, don't worry you can cover it with makeup...

and I'm thinking, I'm a lesbian social worker, okay, so i do wax my face, and I do own lipstick but, the only foundation that I have is in an old make up bag underneath the bathroom sink and I suspect that it's older than you are dear...anyway, took a trip to the fancy cosmetics store so i wouldn't alarm my clients...
all healed now...
still like waxing...skin all smooth and hairless and hair grows back slowly and yes, some of the hairs don't grow back and unlike with a razor where the chopped end grows out these grow out new and soft...fine...
though I don't know when and if I'll ever do it again, post-traumatic stress thing going on...would love to have the arms waxed and the legs and the bikini area and...I have a high threshold for pain but, really, it is a quick ouch...not too bad...not like labor or a tooth ache or anything...just a quick...OUCH! and then...oh, yeah...and then second degree burns on your face and lots of money spent....hmmmmm...shaving cream and a razor with a pivoting head for the teenager!

We missed having you here sweetie!!!! Hope everything is going well for you!!! Sorry to hear about your experiences with waxing. How awful. My Grandmother actually shaved!! I pluck the big ones and leave the rest, but I AM starting to get pretty hairy!!!!!

sometimes I use my electric razor when I'm too lazy to go get waxed or pluck but don't tell anyone...it's a major secret...umm, not too many people will see this right? Den, thanks for the welcome sweetie!!!!

Tweezers on chin... miss some occasionally, have tried wax but needed double jointed elbows to pull the strips in the right direction. Eyebrows seem relatively under control.

Did any of your mothers tell you any of this? It was all a very nasty surprise to have the chin hairs... and I thought all the smooth girls in Playboy were AIRBRUSHED, not shaved. hahahahaha.

HI ladies. For those you posting and wondering about the Brazilian/PLayboy wax...someone called it the virgin wax....I like that name much better. I had tried it at home once....if you do it at home you are probably gonna end up with bruises all over. Getting it done by a professional is much better. Runs about 60 for a good wax. I'm not gonna lie....it hurts like...well it just hurts bad...I have a high pain tolerance and I screamed a few times. It is worth it though.....and after the first time its not near as painful. I dont think I will ever go back to shaving. If you do decide to do professionally, be sure to ask how many Brazilians the person has done. You do NOT want to be someones first Brazilian. They are very professional and you get over the embarrasment real fast. Hope this helped anyone who was considering it.....
