Really quiet here today. Guess I'm going to have to cook this am..thought I could get away from it for awhile.

Bright: Glad you posted we was gettin' worried...you sound great, keep up the good work, and you and Semo will leave the rest of us in the dust...but we will really be happy for you both anyway.

DN and I had a nice weekend in NYC with my cousin...we went to the Frick which is an old house that is now a museum and I got to see paintings that I only studied about previously so it was a real nice surprise since I thought these particular paintings were in a European museum and all the time they were only 15 miles away....duh!! We also went to some galleries down in the Chelsea section which is very avant garde....it was fun for an afternoon but I wouldn't live there for anything...not green enough!

We ate out too much this weekend so I am sure the loss I had during the week is now balanced by a gain.

I told DN it's got to end...it's too expensive calorie wise and financially too!!

Yes I'm still buried but it doesn't matter to me one bit right now cause I'm gettin outta that place Thursday night for a glorius fun-filled weekend in Las Vegas where the temperatures are in the high 70's and the sun is shining!

Oooh, Vegas! Huntress is goin' to Vegas! I'm just a bit jealous. OK, a lot! Let me give you an early "HAVE FUN!".

Well, my joy ($$) was short-lived I fear. Here it is, Monday, and I'm all alone on the phones again. I know one of the girls said she'd be late but the other just didn't bother to show up. Neither did the old *itch. Guess they both know the boss isn't in so they figured they could get away with it. Me, I'm going to be composing and firing off an email to the HR manager telling her pretty clearly how I feel about the situation.

OK, enough whine whine whine.

I was good this weekend. Rich and I left at 6AM on Saturday fo this warehouse type store about 2 hours away. We spent oodles of money on new wood flooring, loaded up his truck and started for home. Ah, but what's that sign say? Factory outlet stores!?!?! Wait a minute here....

Long story a little shorter. Rich got bib overalls and 5 pairs of pants. I bought, let's see, 2 skirts, 3 2-piece pants outfits, 2 pairs of pants, 4 tops and 4 pairs of thick wooly socks. Total cost: $140. Not bad, eh? Also bought a pair of walking sneakers, a pair of shoes and a pair of boots for a total of $35.

Ah, but the best news... Had a light breakfast at home. Had a little chinese (spicy chicken and garlic sauce ) for lunch. Had a huge salad for dinner when we got home.... Carried my water bottles everywhere. Get the picture? Combine that with all the walking and package carrying. I done good!

We spent Sunday prepping the dining room floor for the new wood. Didn't get quite as far as we hoped but lots of exercise and little time for snacking. Oh it's a beautiful thing!

OK, I've rambled on long enough. Someone said the HR manager is in so I'm going to invite her to come see the dark offices up here. Ah, I just love being a baby-sitter for these problem children. Not.

Hm, must be Monday.

Only time for a quick hello - still have worked piled up and now I'm without an afternoon receptionist so I'll have to answer phones today. Still trying to find someone.

Sun is shining and it was 70 over the weekend - but only in the 40s today.

Hi everyone! I'm back from the blue water, white sand and hot sun. My frame of mind is restored... at least I'm sufficiently deluded to think it is, LOL.

It was beautiful, I spent a week in Cozumel with my mom... lots of beach time. Yeah, I'm still fat, but even a fat girl can have good hair days in Mexico. So I'm happy. And I'm as brown as a girl who wears a shade of foundation called "Pale Ivory" can get in a week. (not very.)

So I've caught up on the thread but I'm trying to be more diligent and consciencious at work so I can't formulate individual replies at this moment. Please just accept my greetings and my hugs and my thanks for thinking about me while I was gone!

Just a quick howdy! Busy, busy, busy today. Sun is out but the temps are cold, not slowing us down any tho. It's like a marathon around here, everyone wants theirs NOW. If I'm not back for a few days, it's not because I don't wanna be, just no time.

DNW: I am so jealous that you can just pop over to NYC---we visited a few years ago and I loved it! Hope to come back in a couple of years. The museum sounds wonderful! How in the world do you manage the eating over there? We ordered burgers and got a whole pound of meat on a bun! Never saw so much meat in one place! Ended up spliting every meal we ordered!

Gotta go...no more time for shout outs...hope everyone else is keeping warm and snug tonight! Hopefully, I can post later in the week...

The concert was good. I dont regret taking the kids, but would have been nice to be there alone with DH. My feet were killing me the next day...wore stupid shoes...but they were cool.
On top of the concert this past weekend, we bought a new truck. Not brand new...2001. DH is like a kid with a new toy. The last few days have felt very hectic. I probably need to stay home today...get caught up. But, nah. Going to a friends house that I don't see very often...hour drive. She's the "forever skinny" friend. I think she has the metabolism of a hummingbird.

Semo, just think how all that wonderful exercise has made you more capable of dealing with all the work stress. yes?

Last night we ate out. I was really good. Had a 6 fat gram salad. Then, came home and ate an icecream sandwich! I swear, I'm broken.
Well, I'm off to load the crockpot and get myself ready. Leaving for friends house straight from kindergarten.

Good morning all!

Well, Bright, I have to say it was just what I needed. It was almost too hot sometimes, but I was NOT complaining. When we got off the plane in Cozumel it was already dark but still very warm and the air (think jungle) was moist and just wrapped itself around you. I could feel the pores on my skin opening up to drink it in. Our room faced East over the jungle rather than the sea and was floored with cool tiles. When you opened the sliding glass door to our little balcony (which was a sharp step down) the vertical blinds rattled in the hot breeze. Even at sunrise the sun was hot on my skin as soon as it was up.

It was very good just to be AWAY and have everything look strange and new back at home. I feel refreshed, where before everything felt difficult now it is easy and more things are possible.

Last night, I came home from work and made sushi! Where before I would grudgingly cook something easy and flop on the couch. It is mental, not physical. I think the anxiety and stress is too much but I say "I'm fine, I'm just tired." and then I *AM* tired, all the time! Now that can really take the joy out of things. I know that this feeling will fade, but I hope I can keep a little of it in my approach to things.

My job is changing a little - they're taking some of my more mundane work away and giving it to someone else to make room for almost ALL project work - of which I do a fair amount anyway. There's no title change, or anything else, but it is a step in a direction that I think will be good!

That being said, I've got to hustle back... but first,

DNW - you made the right decision! Sometimes the sweet relief of a little extra support is just the ticket. We're only human.

Tiger - have fun today! You're doing what you can - maybe a visit to your skinny friend will give you a boost, but you also have other fish to fry right now.. you will do the best thing you can.

Tig, well, I'M wearing "stupid shoes" today so let's see how I do. Glad you had a good time at the concert. Ooh and a new "toy" too. Sounds like a great weekend.

Just spent almost half an hour on the phone with the boss. He made me read to him all his emails and then print them out and fax them to his hotel. What a lunatic.

Spent a couple hours last night at a meeting at the VFW. OK, correct me if I'm wrong here. The meeting starts at 7:00. We're covering stuff, moving right along. Then a couple people roll in around 7:45 or so. So what does everyone do? Of course, they go back and rehash all the stuff we already talked about just to get those late people "caught up".

So I got ticked and said (politely) that we've already covered that and those of us who were actually ON TIME for the meeting shouldn't have to sit here and go over it all over again for half the night.... Well you get the idea.

Suffice it to say there's a few folks not speaking to me at the moment. Tough taters, I say.

Worst thing was that we got out of there so late and I didn't feel like cooking something healthy and good for me and the Burger King is on the way home..... Oh well. Today's a new day, right?

Better get back to work. Lots to do today. Talk to you all later!

Just a quickie:

I am drowning in work at work!!!! Working until after 6 pm every night this week.

My food has been in line pretty much and I need to exercise as I have a lot of anxiety and need to get rid of the extra adrenaline.

Will post soon...if I don't fall over from exhaustion.
