I suppose if people are looking for their true selves and/or true loves or are looking for a better job or to go back to school or who WANT to be the life of the party...those people are going to be disappointed. Weight loss is not a cure for those kinds of ailments. I think those of us who are already genuinely satisfied with life outside of obesity will be pleasantly pleased with weight loss, and yes, happier. But I have no aspirations outside of fitting into any and all chairs and booths, walking up to my kids' school without being winded, rolling over in bed without pain, etc., etc. And who can blame them? Weight loss has definitely made me a happier person, but I was already satisfied with all other aspects of my life. It was just hard to see through the fat.
