  • Hi Blodwen
Glad you're on the mend i've been in Canada for sixteen years now but try to go home regularly to see the kids and grandkids (although I hate the long flight ) my son lives in Preston and my daughter lives in Bury so when i'm back we go to Manchester and blitz Primark won't need to go to Manchester next time though as they've built a new shopping centre in Bury and there is a Primark there can't wait hehe. Haven't been to Liverpool for years. My friend writes to me and makes me jealous telling me where they've been for a night out (I miss my nights out with the girls ) she'd had a real good time in Liverpool ahhh maybe next time got lots to do and want to wii today. Don't think i've been on there for a couple of days that won't do
    Have a Great Weekend
  • Hi Cat,

Hope you're having a good weekend. You've been in Canada a long time then - I always fancied going there. So far have only managed Niagara Falls for a few days but will definitely go further in one day!

The weather here today has been foul yet again so I've sat inside on the internet for a few hours and managed to buy a pair of boots, 2 pairs of trainers and a hoody, oops! Oh well, a bit of retail therapy will do me good Ah Primark- when it opened here they had to have Alton Towers-style barriers outside for the queues! In fact Kim Cattrall is in Liverpool this week for a play and apparently she was spotted in Primark the other day, so even the celebs go there! You should definitely have a night out in Liverpool if you can, you'll be guaranteed a good time

Right, need to go and check the tea isn't burning! Weigh in tomorrow morning but since I haven't been weighed since before my naughty week last week I'm not really sure what to expect. Oh well, I've been good foodwise all week so can only be good

    Have a good day!
  • Hi Blodwen
I've never been to Niagara Falls i'm about as far as you can go in Canada any further and you'll be in the Pacific. Vancouver Island, so if I want to go anywhere I have to get on a ferry for an hour and a half to the mainland or fly. Went on a helicopter once its a drag but not bad if you want to go to the states you can get a ferry to Port Angeles and drive anywhere from there
Having a lazy day here trying to get going but its not working I did wii yesterday thought it had been two days but it wasted no time in telling me it had been three i've been calling it Gold's gym boxing but in fact its Gold's gym cardio workout hope I didn't confuse anyone
Good Luck with the weigh in i'm sure you'll be fine
  • Hi Cat,

Ah I've always wanted to go to Vancouver (been reading too many Douglas Coupland books I think!). I bet it's a beautiful place to live, shame it's difficult to get anywhere though.

Well I got weighed this morning - lost 1.1lb (seems to be a recurring loss, never just 1lb!!) which means I made up for last week's probable gain plus a bit more, phew! Am just 0.1lbs away from losing a stone, so think I'll just class it as a stone - serves me right for having such precise scales, lol! Haven't been back to the gym yet *slaps wrist* but will start back at the aqua aerobics class tomorrow now the cold has subsided. Actually looking forward to doing some exercise after a few weeks of laziness

    Have a good week!
  • Hi Blodwen,
Congrats on the loss i've lost 1lb too wan't expecting anything as haven't been as on plan as I planned to be I tried Turbo Jam last week it is so much fun wanted to do it on wednesday and thursday but I've been so tired this week was aching too from the exercise i'm off now for 4 days so plan to do some wii-ing and more turbo jam. Oh, I better explain i'm not in Vancouver i'm in Victoria which is on Vancouver Island a bit confusing isn't it I have to get the ferry to Vancouver (90 minute trip plus 60 minute drive to ferry terminal) if I want to fly to England then another 45 minute drive on the other side to the airport not to mention 3 hour wait after check in then the long flight thats what makes it a drag worth it though when I get to Manchester If you live in Vancouver you can drive anywhere but I wouldn't want to live there I prefer the island its more laid back. They have drive bys in Vancouver i'd be too worried to live there
Should we start an October thread or stay here? I don't care either way as long as we keep losing Well the laundry won't wait anymore so i'll get going. Have a great weekend and enjoy the aqua aerobics
  • Hi Cat,

Well done on your loss, that's great especially if you haven't been strict. I lost 2.6 lbs this week I lowered my calories slightly and it seems to have worked. Also went to the gym twice. I think I might try some other classes at my gym because as much as I like aqua aerobics, it's more of a summer class and I hate going out into the cold with wet hair (I'm such a wuss ), plus think it might be good to have a change. I'll have a look and see if anything takes my fancy. I'm going to skive off tomorrow anyway as OH has his PhD viva in the daytime and assuming he passes (which I know he will) we'll be going for a few celebratratory drinks; probably soda water for me but I think I can manage one night off - back to the gym on Wednesday for both of us!

Haha, it's my fault, you did say you lived on Vancouver Island, I just got confused. I knew it was separate from Vancouver but just been looking at Google maps and didn't realise quite how far apart they were - honestly, it sounds lame but coming from such a small place it's hard to comprehend such vast countries as the US and Canada! I expect you're used to it by now I didn't realised how different the places were either, although I suppose it makes sense as even two places next to each other can be totally different. Ok I'll stop waffling now as I'm making myself look stupid!

Do you know, I didn't even realise we were still on a September thread. We could start one if you like, might encourage some more people to join in as it just seems to be you and me atm!

Right I'd better do some work - have a good week!
  • Hi Blodwen Awesome Loss!! Well Done! i'm definitely slipping here not done any exercise at all and I can tell I feel a bit sluggish. Need to shake things up here its weird when i'm a work I think wish I was at home I could exercise then when i'm off I go to the mall or sit around messing with my laptop i'm going to move after i've posted this message I haven't spent much time in Vancouver so don't really know if i'd like it there or not it just seems more violent than here when I see someone has been shot in a restaurant or an innocent person was caught in gunfire or something on the news its definitely a beautiful place the island and the mainland. I suppose the one thing i'd like about living in Vancouver is being able to drive anywhere across Canada and U.S. I drove from Florida to Victoria once it was awesome would love to do that again Well things to do i'm supposed to be making Thanksgiving dinner although being a brit I don't recognise it as a holiday just hope that darn turkey is thawed Mmmm, guess i'll open the October thread too even though it is the 11th See you there
