  • Today I passed up some chocolate-frosted brownies sitting in the lunch area... which I walk past whenever I go anywhere outside my lab. It was super tempting at first, especially when I had to stand right next to them to get my morning snack out of the fridge. Luckily after a while I realized they were probably from the picnic yesterday (eww) and they were gone by lunch time anyway.

Meanwhile, even though I'm honest-to-goodness hungry this afternoon, I'm holding off until dinner. Like I said in a previous post, my body gets all thrown off when I've been bingeing regularly, and it takes a while for it to learn what a normal amount of food is!

Kitty -- do you follow a recipe for your vegetable soup? I've been wanting to make some healthy soup lately but can't decide on a recipe.

I'm amazed at what great days we're all having so far! We've gotta keep this going!!

  • Well, it's almost bedtime and I have had another binge-free day. Sounds like many of you did, too. I'm not sure I could have passed by those brownies without grabbing one!

I read this today: "Our weight loss plan is not a test to fail or pass or a contest to win or lose. It is an ongoing, unfolding creation of the body, mind, and soul." (Joni Woelfel)

That was good for me to read because I can tend to be competitive, which leads to beating myself up if I mess up.

  • Ok, ladies, did the yesterday end as well as it started for all of us??

I had an absolutely perfectly on-plan day. The best I've had in years, probably. I did end up choosing to eat a fudgesicle at night because I knew I had room for it in my calories (it was only 60) but otherwise I ate exactly what I planned out ahead of time.

So far this morning I had one mini-scone (planned) at a meeting... it was tempting to take more than one, or to have a mini-muffin or donut hole with it, but I didn't. This afternoon there will be MORE tempting food at the weekly friday seminar (usually cookies). At least I'm going home before happy hour (free beer and snacks). It's tough being a grad student and trying to lose weight!

Unfortunately I'm going out to eat tonight (the worst part of having friends in town to visit), but it's at Chili's so I'll see what nutrition information I can find and make a good choice. And no drinks! And I'll report back to you guys either way.
  • Hello, Everyone of you binge-free beautiful new friends !

Good idea, Mayness, about checking for nutrition before going out to eat.

I have a busy day today. Lunch with a friend (who comes here on her lunch hour with her bag lunch). Writers Guild this afternoon and a meeting tonight.

Today will be a tricky day for me. When I have lots to do I tend to take short cuts with my food and that is dangerous. So today I have all my meals planned out. Fingers crossed and praying that will make a difference. I'm on day 6 of being binge-free and I like this feeling. Wanna keep it!

I'll check back tonight and let you know how things go today.

    Good luck!!!
  • Hi chicks
    ,
No, I have not fallen off into a deep crevasse! My home computer has a virus. PIA.
Mayness, the soup I made did not have a recipe but I have some some absolutley fab soup rec. here on 3fc. My all time favorite is a brocolli cheese soup that has neufchatel cheese-lower fat cream cheese and salsa in it. If you want I can give you the info.

Food, better, but not pop. More like 50% op. But NO binge.

I am at work today so I'll have time to check back later!

    Have a good one, all.
  • New to this forum: Was horrid Friday and yesterday. Hoping 8/30 can be binge free. So far so good.
  • Good luck, DogMomNP-

This is Day 8 binge-free for me. I never thought I could make a week. Never have before. Thanks to God for working in my llife today.

The cravings are still with me, but I have been able to direct my mind to other things like reading or doing some postcards at my favorite site--- postcrossing! My little dog has been brushed more in the last 8 days than she has in the past three years! LOL

  • Made it through last night - ready to start over today
Last night was really hard. I didn't fall asleep until 5 this morning. I kept getting up, eating, sitting back down, try to do something to take my mind off food, getting up, eating again!

I'm glad things don't feel as bad in the daylight. I'm going to do some Wii Fit today and maybe get myself to the gym. It's scary for me but I really want to get out there & move.

One good thing - I finally found just the right avatar!
  • Thanks Spicy! Ha, my dogs could use some brushing.

MissKoo: Hang in there. I'm trying to start over today too.....
