  • You are doing awesome ASHLAN! A 5K is 3.1....sometimes confused by the 26.2 for the marathon. Sometimes when we train we go 3.25....no matter the distance you go ....you are going FORWARD to a better life!

GALS ~It is more difficult to do 3.1 miles on the street...be careful but KNOW!!!! that you can do it and WILL!!!!! do it when you are ready!

    I promise....and I do not lie!!!
  • I think I'll try this one. Not sure if I'll walk or run but I'm doing one or the other. 12 days to go.
  • I'm in. Hopefully I won't get sick again (and be wiped out for a month)!
  • I'm in! And actually signing up this time, unlike the St. Patty's day one.

Would love to be under 50 on the training trail I'm using for my 5Ks.
  • I started the C25K again but with week 4! Hopefully by fathers day i will run a 5K in 30minutes!
  • OK, I'll have a go!
I am starting the C25K program tomorrow, so this bunny will definitely NOT be running the whole 5K, but I've got to start somewhere.

    Coach Gary, count me in!

Just realized: this is all happening on April 12th, that's my birthday!
What a good gift to give myself.
  • Please count me in.
  • I'd love to join in. #23 again if you have it, please!

CruiseCAT, it's a lot harder to run outside because a treadmill helps propel you to a very small degree and asphalt and concrete are harder than a treadmill surface for sure. I remember when I graduated C25K on the treadmill and first started running outside. It was brutal. A lot of it is psychological/visual, too. Being outside can make you feel slower, even if you're going the same pace as on a treadmill.

Anyway, if you can run 3.1 miles on a treadmill there's no reason to start C25K over on the street. Just do what you can do and start to transition to the outside, and your body will adapt much faster than you think!

If you have a local track somewhere that can also be a good way to transition. The surface of a track is a lot more forgiving than the street and it can help with the impact while you're trying to adjust your form. Either way, don't be intimidated by it. You can definitely do this, just take it easy at first
  • I am really busy right now but I promise to get numbers up this week-end!

Angie and I are doing the Carlsbad 5K on Sunday...we will walk this one...it is so much fun....thousands of people and a beer garden in the morning!....wink
  • I have run my 5k this morning because I won't have time next weekend! If i get a chance to run it any closer to next sunday I will but until then I have to stick with thsi one!
  • ALL IN....no time to chat...Angie is doing taxes and needs computer...see you tomorrow! Angie and I do a 5K tomorrow with 10,000! other folks...not all in the same race...wink!!
  • Ran hill intervals in the wind today!

Have fun with your 5K, EZ!
  • I'm in again! I'm hoping for an OUTDOOR walk this time
  • I'd like to join! Do I need to do more than say that in order to sign up?

By the end of April I'm hoping to run a 32 minute 5k, but for Easter, I'd love to finish in around 35 minutes.

    ....
NOPE! You are in KIDDO! Welcome!
