  • Congrats Nancy!!!! WOO HOO.... Its so great to finally get past a certain number. We all have them. keep up the fabulous work!

Well, even though I did not stay for the meeting yesterday I did read the book that was handed out. It was the week 6, about tracking and finally introducing the simply filling method ( the old core). I read through it all and I'm switching to that method. I've been doing the true momentum (basically flore - core foods but counting points) for several months now, even before this session started. I did need that to get my portions back in control. So I decided to go back to what I was most successful at --- with a whole new attitude. The break in tracking points, I think, has given me a new view on things. I have realized I've been adding more and more processed things into my diet for while now. It will be good to purge those out for a while. Maybe it will get things moving in the right direction.

Sandra, you yard must really be shaping up. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Coco, how is Dh feeling? Is he going to the Dr soon or is it a matter of just him taking care of things? I don't know much about gout. I hope it improves soon.

Well, go to go frost a birthday cake. DD is 6 tomorrow. I can't believe how quickly time goes by..... today is the last day I'll have a 5 year old. (sniff, sniff)... Have a good night.
  • Nancy. I confess I am not only happy for you, but I'm also jealous. You have worked hard to get your weight down. I am hoping to get some of your determination.

Coco, congratulations on being down 33 lbs. That's wonderful. I hope your dh is all right. He's lucky to have you to watch over him.

Paula, happy bday to dd. Time certainly flies. My ds is 41 years old now. It's hard to believe.
  • Good Morning Ladies

Sorry for being MIA yesterday My computer provider was out for most of the day and than I got involved with the golf match tournament.

Nothing, except I have 4 more days before heading to the doctor with my food plan and I didn't move a muscle on the scale.Still up,I can't figure whats going on. I've been eating all the right Core Foods. and still 168 for 2 weeks. Hope he[doc] has an answer.

COCO-I love see nature happening right in front of you.The swan made it ok. Everything went well at the doctors she confirmed that's the cancer is gone and told Leo hes got to start exercising again. Nothing to hard just to walk to the mailbox at the end of the block.

RHONDA-That what I'm doing the Undiet, but watching calories and eat core foods.Seeing nature is the reason we moved to the country.

SANDRA-Its was so cutest think, I started to smile & pointed to the swan and the cop smiled back as us.

NANCY-BIG CONGRATS getting to the 140's. Your doing terrific, keep up the good work.

PAULA-Tracking the core foods, that every interesting. Maybe that what I doing wrong is the portions.I do measure and weight my meals but the yogurt & fruits in the afternoon & evening don't bother to measure a apple, banana, peach & orange and as for my yogurt I just put in in a cup bowl. Thanks for sharing the information.I almost sound like Phase 2 of the SBD you have to go easy on the grain carbs.[[[[Interesting.]]]]

Have to go,will look in on your gals later
  • Hi Everyone
    Just having a lazy day.
Thanks for asking. Hubby is doing better today. Some of the swelling is going down. It just takes time. The last time he had a gout attack. It lasted about a week and a half. They say to drink cherry juice and eat tart cherries. He tried that. But didnt seem to work for him.

BEACHBUM I have been having trouble getting on my internet also. Maybe it has something to do with the weather. That is good that your hubby is allowed to start exercising. So glad he got a good report.

BLESSEDWITHSARAH Oh my. A six year old. They grow so fast. Seems like once they start school. They dont stay little. Hope you have a good day.

To Everyone else. I am thinking of you.
Well I better get off here and get something done.
    So will be back later.
    coco
  • Hi Everyone
Just getting back on for a few.
Son is taking his shower. So when he gets done I need to do my dishes.
Washed some clothes today. Got a load in the dryer now. Wont dry them all the way. Will hang to finish drying. So will have to do that.
Tomorrow I am going to go to the mall. They are having a health fair. Am going to get my blood taken. They check cholesterol and all that stuff. Then will get the results in about 3 weeks. I have been doing this the last few years. Alot cheaper than going to the DR to have it done. Only thing. Dr wants my thyroid checked. But they dont do that. So will have to either have the DR do it. Or later on they have some other places where they do the blood test. But they check the thyroid. But dont know if I can just do the one thing or not. They charge a seperate price for that. So guess I will have to check into it.
Hubby is doing ok. Foot still swelled. But not as bad as last night. So that is good.
Well son is out of the shower. So guess I better get off here and get to work.
I hope everyone is doing ok.
    Think of everyone.

  • Hi Everyone:

I'm just looking forward to a busy and productive weekend.

Yesterday, we had spring; today, winter again.

I've been trying to eat more salads because I had just about not had any for weeks! I read a study that put people on different types of diets and everyone lost weight. Why? Fewer calories and more exercise. It shouldn't be so hard, should it!?

  • Hi everyone. Busy day ahead for me. I'm doing well food wise. I did have a small, small piece of cake and a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream last night (my absolute favorite, dd's choice as well). She wanted chinese food for her birthday dinner. I ordered steamed chicken and broccoli -- topped it with soy sauce. It was very good. didn't miss eating the fried stuff at all. Knowing I was going to have the cake and ice cream helped as well.

Today is gymnastics in the am the dd's party this afternoon. There should be 16 little girls there - thankfully its not in my house! After I drop her at class, I need to go pick up the paper goods and then the cup cakes. Should be a fun day -- have the batteries charged in the video camera and digital camera.

Well, I'm also off to do laundry. I'll check back later.

Oh, more snow tomorrow it was finally all gone. Oh well, thats New England for you -- close to 60 yesterday and snow tomorrow.

    Have a good day.
  • Hi Everyone
Well had a few errends to run this morning. Then went to the health fair. Out to eat. And Wal Mart.
Hubby was able to get a shoe on today. So that was good. But we wouldnt let him do much walking. At Wal Mart he stayed in the truck. But wasnt in there very long.

BLESSEDWITHSARAH Mint chocolate chip. My favorite. Hope you had a good time today.

TEJAS Hope you got done what you wanted too today. Know what you mean about this weather. One day 50 degrees next 30. We are suppose to have a chance of snow flurries tonight. Wish it would make up it mind. But I guess this is March weather for you.

BEACHBUM how are you today. Hope everything is ok.

VICKIE how are you. Hope you are doing ok. Did they get the leak fixed.

ONTARGET Are you planting plants yet. Didnt know if the roses came or not.

Well I am going to get off here for now.
    May come back later.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

  • I've had a rather low calorie day today, and mostly Core. I did stop at a Subway and ordered their chicken noodle soup because I was famished and hadn't brought any snacks with me. It was so full of salt that I ate only the chicken and a few noodles before passing it back to them. Awful, it was

I just got a hard-boiled egg out of our 'fridge and it was right on the edge, so I spit that out too! I made a non-Core chicken dish with vermicilli noodles for DH and I didn't like it at all. It's not my day for nourishment, it seems. I think I'll have an apple and some cheese and try again tomorrow!

I've been running around looking at flooring and at home I'm packing the filing cabinet items into boxes. It's interesting to sort through years of papers. I know that I'm packing things I'll throw out in Texas, but I'm doing what I can do...

    BBL, maybe...have a good night.

  • It has been a lazy rainy day around here. We went to a RV show this morning and dreamed about RVing across the country. The rest of the day we have
been sitting and watching bad Sci-fi movies.
I was bad and had a pop tart that my son had bought. Those I cannot resist
so I don't have them around much . I grilled some chicken for dinner and it was dry and bland. I need new chicken recipes.
My son that is away at college has the flu and I hate being so far from him when he is sick. I always spoiled my kids rotten when they were sick. I would
run get them or make anything they thought sounded good.

Need to go back to work soon but I know my sleeping late and free time will be all over so I am procrastinating.

  • Good Morning ladies

Was going to church and our usual brunch today but i woke up to strange sound on the skylight and its called hale.By the time I headed downs stairs the weather out side turned to a heavy down load of snow.

Not going out in this mess, they say we're going to get 1-3 inches now but by tonight additional 4-6 Inches of the white stuff. Its the storm that in the south that going to be the worst of 2 storms.

Hope I make the appointment with my doctor. Leo told me if it bad he'll drive me over there, providing the doc and his staff make it in.

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, Leo & I were busy in the morning and than we are great golf fans and we watched the match game challenge, today its the finals but none of my favorites made the match soI don't care if I watch it or not today.

COCO-It wasn't as much the weather our provider was out.We have cable for the tv and the internet and they are working on some of the new digital program. Hope he starts exercising,he told the doc that it easier said than done. I guess I'll have to get after him.Everything is fine just had a very busy day yesterday. Thanks for inquiring.

RHONDA-Looks like our pattern of weather is following yours. That great to eat more salads of roughage,I should do the same but I was turned off when winter hit I like to have a warm soup at the beginning of my main meal. Once it get warmer I switch to salads again.

We're deciding whether we should get wall to wall carpeting or just keep our area rugs.My friends tell me its easier to to vacuum rugs than to wipe up plain floors. Can't make a decisions, one way or the other.

PAULA-The Chinese food with cake & ice cream wasn't that bad,try to drink little more water to get the Big S[sodium] out of you. Looks like you DD is going to have fun with here little school mates. I know my DGC love to have birthday parties with the friends more than with the grown-ups.

NANCY-Before cruising we always wanted to buy a RV and see the country but with back problems and cancer hitting our lives we decided that traveling that way wasn't our cup of tea. Good for you, that's the ideal way to travel[no hotels ] just day to day food it all you need. I'm a scifi fan also my favorite show is Ghost Hunters and the old twilight zones. Like supernatural also, don't like snake movies they had on last night.

Have to go,get dressed, will stop in later
  • Good Morning Chicks! It's been a busy, hectic couple of days for us.

Let's see. The leak was located and fixed, theoretically. I'm not going to have any painting patching done for a while since the drywall needs to dry out. I'll have the painters fix it when they come back to do the last 3 rooms in the house that need to be done.

I went to my Gynie appointment and all seems to be well. He gave me an idea for a new Internist and wrote me scripts for basic tests that my old Internist should have been doing all along. Based on my symptoms he thinks I have thyroid issues rather than menopause. So...I'm having CBC, cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and full thyroid panel done. Then I'll take the results to the new Doctor. I'm nervous that my numbers will be bad, but they are what they are. Worrying won't change them.

I'm on program and exercising. The scale has not budged this week and my weigh in is tomorrow. I'll be so disappointed if I have another small loss but there's nothing I can do about that but continue to follow the program.

I have to get on the treadmill in a few minutes but let me go see what's been up with all of you.
  • Sandra, HUGE congratulations to you and Curtis for your archery victories! You must be so proud of yourselves. You do sound tired. How are your feet? Are you planting any Peace roses at the new house? I can't remember where you put them in. They were my Mom's favorites.

Rhonda, I LOVE your idea of giving up excuses for lent. I need to give up complaining. It doesn't help. If I had a day like you had with the food catastrophes, I'd have used it as an excuse to eat something WAY off program. Good for you for resisting that.

Nancy, the bunnies are adorable but more importantly, CONGRATULATIONS on hitting 140. Oh how I look forward to the day I hit 150! I'm not planning to go below that right now. Have you looked at the nutritionals for the Fiber One Toaster pastries? I don't know how many points they would be but they are good. I bought all the flavors before I went on JC and at least they have some fiber in them.

Coco, you lost a POUND! Awesome chick. Keep up the great work. I believe you are going to reach goal. 33 pounds and counting! I hope your DH's gout goes away soon. Jim used to have that and it was awful. He couldn't even stand the pressure of a sheet on his toe. And my guy has a high pain tolerance so it must be excruciating.

Mary Ann, your weather sounds like typical Chicago. Stay safe.

Paula, you'll lose next week for sure. You're determined. Happy Birthday to DD. How did the party go?

Ok my chickie friends...off to the treadmill with me. I'm up to 2.0 mph for 31 minutes. I'm increasing my time starting today. I'm going to go at least 35 and maybe more. Wish me luck.
  • Hi Everyone
Just checking in. See how everyone is doing.
Not much going on here. Went to church. Then to Eat N Park to eat. Had their grilled chicken. Wasnt too bad. Kinda dry. But I didnt get the honey mustard sauce. I love theirs. Just had it plain. Then a bake potato. But I did break down. and had cup of their chili. I really like theirs. Then came home. And ate a WW dessert. The chocolate chip cookie dough one. It was 3 points. So I will have to be really good the rest of the day. So dont know what the scales will say tomorrow. Guess I will find out tomorrow night.

BEACHBUM you be careful if you have to go out today. I think we are to get some snow flurries tonight. Is your appointment with your DR tomorrow. Hope everything goes well. Maybe you and hubby could take little walks together. Get him started exercising. But I know with the weather that will be hard. Have a good day.

VICKIE Wow. You are really doing good with the treadmill. I am sure your numbers will be ok. Look at the changes you are making in your eating. I am sure it will show up in the blood work. I am sure once your body adjust to your new way of eating. The pounds will start coming off. Maybe you are losing inches now. And the pounds will catch up. How do you like the JC consulores. I bet that makes it nice to have someone one on one. And can you contact them at anytime. If you are having trouble.

TEJAS I often wondered about the soup Subway had. Figured it would be pretty salty. Now I know not to get it. But you did good. Not just grabbing whatever. When you couldnt find the right things to eat.

NANCY237 The RV show sounds like it would be fun. Our Son has a camper. He took us camping last year. We loved it. In fact when son was younger. We had a pop up camper. We went a good bit with it. But a pop up is for the young. Everything is stored down low. And getting down there and back up. Well. Lets just say. I am too old for that.

ONTARGET hope you are doing ok. And your feet are feeling better.

Well I am going to get off here for now. Hope everyone is having a great day.

  • Hi everyone. Birthday weekend is now over. The party was a lot of fun - a total of 17 5 and 6 year old girls ended up coming. Just what I expectd. They all had a ball. I do have 1 1/2 dozen cup cakes left over. I had extra's for the parents, none ate any. I may bring some to work tomorrow to get them out of the house. There was a dozen mini muffins from DDs school snack that came home on Friday - those went to the coffee window at church this morning. Otherwise things are back to normal here.

Vickie - when do you get the thryroid results? If it is low thryriod (hypothyroid), its really no big deal. Once the dr can determine the right medication level, its just a pill every morning. I was diagnosed over 8 years ago. I do know now when I have trouble losing and have raised blood pressure, my levels are off.

good luck to everyone weighing in soon. I have until Wednesday, I'm thinking it will be a good one. Well, got to run. BBL
