  • Hi All.

A big WELCOME BACK!!!!! to Jo Jo.

Well, Mary's contractions finally got stopped, but not til she went to the big hospital about 50 miles away. The OB unit there is state of the art, and she had a very knowledgeable doctor. Hopefully the twins will hold off for a few more weeks. I got to see them on ultrasounds, and think they look beautiful!!!! Spoken like a true Grandma, right? One is right in the birth canal, and her sister isn't far behind. They are 3pounds 6 ounces, and 3pounds 4 ounces right now. The doc said that they can gain up to 1/2 pound a week now. Thank you all for your prayers!!

Hope everyone else is doing fine and dandy.

    Talk to you soon,
    Jana
  • Whew...it was a looooooooooooong day.

I took my eldest to the Shriner's hospital today and discovered it was quite a bit further away than I had been told. We finally arrived, and the appointment took 4 hours...it was *very* thorough. Her scoliosis has worsened somewhat, but we came away with a physical therapy regimen that will hopefully lessen her pain. If it doesn't, they will implement some other (more intensive) form of therapy in 6 months. I did get some great pics of her next to their WONDERFUL larger than life stuffed Big Bird and Sully (MOnsters Inc) toys. We had to haul a*s to get back home in time for her concert tonight, but I got her there with about two minutes to spare.

When I finally got home I found that one of the cats had been skunked. My littlest told me that she put rose perfume on the cat, and now she "smells like a skunk getting ready for a hot date". *LMAO* Time to go buy some tomato juice!
  • Hi Gang,

Jana: So glad everything is going well for Mary. How very exciting to have twins! Keep us posted!

JoJo: Welcome back! Nice to see you posting again.

Kat: Thanks for offering to decifer my cat's report. I know what's happening even if the vet didn't have the heart to tell me. That was sweet of you, though.

Have five glorious days off from work and plan on just catching up with a lot of things around the house.

Hope everyone has a very peaceful weekend.

    Love,
    carree
  • Hello ladies,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial weekend.

I haven't been on the computer much in the last few days, I've just been kinda hanging out at home doing absolutely nothing at all. My three weeks of free time is almost over, one more left, then it is back to school for two months this summer, then I get another three weeks off before fall semester begins.

I did manage to get some cleaning done around the house and I've watched a lot of TV. I guess I better get back to business with my weight loss, I haven't walked in a few weeks!!!

JANA, I'm glad that Mary is doing better. Keep us informed and we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

KAT, I hate to hear that your daughter has scoliosis. Shriners is a great hospital, we have one here in Shreveport.

CARREE, enjoy your five days off. How is your cat doing?

Well, I better run, I'll check in with you guys later.

    Ruth
  • HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Just stopping in for a minute. One of the meds that they gave Mary to stop the contractions unfortunately caused a decrease in amniotic fluid around one baby. So she is still in the hospital, being monitored closely to make sure Twin A doesn't go into stress, which can cause brain damage. Mary will be 32 weeks tomorrrow, and the doc said she will deliver her at 34 weeks unless the baby is in danger beforehand. So I will be spending the next 2-3 weeks driving back and forth to the town where she is. I will check in here when I can, okay?

    Have a good holiday, everyone.
    Jana
