  • Kier, good attitude about running away from the next office gathering!

Megan, hope the next two weeks go fast for you! You deserve a summer, too. You're doing so well with your loss!!!

Sorry about your lunch, Kelly. That stinks! Hope you found a way around it.

Jess, I was on the pill when we first got married and went off to get pregnant with Connor - haven't gone back on hormonal birth control again. I didn't really know all of the options that were out there, being a novice at all of that, but after really looking into it (yes, you'd have thought I would have done that *before* going on it in the first place) I decided to start tracking my cycles using the Fertility Awareness Method. I read through Taking Charge of Your Fertility - great book! All natural, no hormones, better understanding of how your body works - I love it.

Schmoodle, make them grilled cheese! That was my favorite lunch as a kid!

Glad your lunch was nice, Sheila!

Morning, Kitty! I lose from the outside-in I say, as in the extremeties first and mid-section absolutely last! I don't know why. Crazy bodies!

Barbara, do you like the summer cookbook? I'm going to try to find it at the library I think!

  • Allie, I believe you can steam chard. I may be wrong. I *just* made oatmeal bars with zucchini. I used half smashed banana and half applesauce, added one shredded zucchini, and a handful of raisins and walnuts. They are SO good! I also put in a quarter cup of milled flax seed. Mmmmmm!

  • I think I'm going to use a whole banana rather than applesauce. If I had apple sauce in the house, I could eat the whole thing! :P And no raisins or nuts for me... too acidic. But I'm excited!

I found a recipe to wilt chopped shard in garlic and olive oil, which sounds yummy to me. There's tons of it so maybe I'll steam some tomorrow!
  • Kara, I have very little rhythm but it started getting better the more I did the Hip Hop Abs routines. Just don't do it in front of Tom. I did it in front of DH and he laughed hysterically at me because you look like this most of the time:

But then I made him do it with me just ONE time, and he looked even more ridiculous than I did.
  • I'm back from a "perfect" day at Cape May. We got there about 7:30 this morning, and stayed until 7pm. It was just what I needed, there's something about the seashore that is so calming and peaceful. Jake was in a great mood all day, even though he ended up with a sunburn. I'm lucky in that regard, I can spend a whole day in the hot sun and not burn at all.
I just had a shower to wash the sticky salt water out of my hair and off my skin, and now I'm going to have a cup of chamomile tea before going to bed.
Goodnight, I'll be up early to chat with you all tomorrow.
  • Linda, so glad you had such a wonderful day. Wish I had your skin so I didn't burn. That's all I seem to do no matter how much SPF 30 I put on. Sorry to hear Jake got burnt though. Aloe Vera helps! Will chat with you tomorrow. Enjoy your tea!
  • My day started at 12am with my daughter screaming her head off until 2am. I think she is teething. She then woke my son up at 6:30am. I then dropped him off at his preschool and my daughter and I worked Vacation Bible School at my church from 9am-12pm. We had 50 4-5 year olds.

With me starting Phase I I find my energy level is a bit down. I think it is just my body adjusting. I also have been living in the bathroom with stomach issues.

I ate my tuna salad which I might say was GREAT! I needed a change from the grilled chicken.

At 1pm I was praying my one year old daughter would let me take a nap but that was not happening. She took her nap this morning at Vacation Bible School. She finally went to sleep from 2pm-3pm but then I had to wake her to take her 1yr pictures. She did great! Of course mommy and her nana had to make a fool out of themselves to get her to laugh.

I then went pick up my 2 yr old son from his school and we did the nightly routine of supper, bath and bedtime until daddy came home at 7pm. I then cut the grass because I am obsessed with grass cutting.

That was about it. I probally will be turning the lights out early tonight. I usually stay up until 1am but not with week 1 of Phase 1. I need all the rest I can get especially with those 50 4&5 year olds that await me tomorrow.

Overall I am liking the way I feel on this diet plan. I feel really light and I am enjoying all the compliments from people even though the scale is not budging.

Well Good Night! I am glad I found this board. You seem like a great group of people.
  • Cottage, that sounds wonderful! I recently found public transportation to my favorite beach but haven't figured out a time to get there... especially because I don't want to go myself! I haven't been swimming at the beach in years and I have a cute new swimsuit I want to sport!
