Sigh...I'm abandoning two of the challenges. It's just too depressing not making them and my heart's not in them. BUT, I am keeping going on the no sugar and the crunch ones. As of end of yesterday, here's where I stand.

CRUNCH challenge -- Day 4 completed, 2 pauses left
NO SUGAR challenge -- Day 18 completed, no pauses left

I will be back to report today's results after I do the challenges...so maybe tomorrow morning.

    **************

jolly -- Excellent work today! Wow! I'm proud of you! Ooh, hope that hip is OK. And here is that pat on the back! What a save!!!!

AND, I just saw your post. Congrats on the weight workout!!!! I got to the gym yesterday and it felt soooo good! You may get to like them yet!

dj -- You are doing well too....the utensil challenge is tough, but maybe you're over the worst of it. It sounds like it's mostly about forgetting, which is great in itself...that you're intending to do it, but simply forget rather than not wanting to do it and just shirking. You must be feeling good with all the vegetables and exercise. Keep up the good work!

wondersha -- Good for you! And there is nothing "wonderful" about candy! Keep up the good work! I'm thinking I may take my cue from you and do a no-eating shortly before bed challenge...let me think on that one.

  • Day 9 - Put fork/spoon down between each bite 90% of the time - good - 0 pauses left
Day 15 - Half of my dinner plate is filled with vegies which I will eat first - (this is dinner only) - good - 2 pauses left
    Day 14 - Exercise 30 minutes everyday - good - 3 pauses left

Made it through on the utensil challenge and just squeeked by on the exercise one. I did exercise, I just kept getting interrupted! Finally, the 4th time someone interrupted me, I gave up. Luckily the dvd player said I had gone 33 minutes into my workout!

Red - Sorry about those challenges, but the ones that you are keeping are good ones. That no sugar challenge of yours would scare me! I don't know how you do it since sugar is everywhere!

Yes, I really do want to slow down my eating, hence the utensil challenge. It's funny, breakfast I do really well putting the darn thing down. Lunch is usually good too, it's dinner though that gets me! Maybe because that's the one meal we all sit down to together and I get distracted? Oh well, I'm making some progess!

Jolly - Congrats on the gym! Awesome job! By the way, I hate weights too. I find them boring and would much rather do cardio, but, they're an important part of being fit so I do them anyway.

    Have a great day all!
  • Good Morning All

Day 4 no eating after 9:00pm 1 pause left
Day 5 no eating candy 1 pause left

not feeling well today...blah...here's hoping some good ol' excercise gives me boost...

DJ- I have to say how impressive your 30 mins challenge is...I hope in the future I could do something like that

red I say concentrate on the positive...YOU HAVN"T HAD SUGAR IN 18 DAYS....

Jolly woohoo for you!!!!!! two thumbs up for two weight rotations

    okay all,

have a great positive thought filled day

    Shannon ( I love these little emoticons..lol)
  • Hey all. Real quick, as I have to go pay bills, and I want to shut down the computer before the storm hits.

Daily posting, day 13 - 3 pauses left. Follow workout plan and follow menu, day 3 - 3 pauses left.

I did oops on a snack today, but I am concentrating on meals right now. plus, I am very proud that I did grocery shopping without giving in to anything bad.

Have a great night all Red, just look at how great you are doing on the sugar! You can do this. DJ - you are making awesome progress. Shannon, I love the smilies too
  • Good morning. I just had to come on and share. Again this morning I almost talked myself out of working out. So many excuses came to mind, and even thinking I could stay on plan by doing the yoga workout I missed earlier this week . . . But, eventually common sense prevailed, and I went out to do my jog. I did go with the shorter distance (I have started my half marathon training program, and have the choice of two distances), but was able to do the full 2 miles without walking. Slow, but I did it. Yeah.

Red, I don't think I will ever LIKE doing weights, but like DJ, I LOVE the results. I know I loose weight faster when I do weights. So, I must get my rear in gear and do more of them.

Keep up the good work everyone, and have a super day
  • Day 10 - Put fork/spoon down between each bite 90% of the time - good - 0 pauses left
Day 16 - Half of my dinner plate is filled with vegies which I will eat first - (this is dinner only) - good - 2 pauses left
    Day 15 - Exercise 30 minutes everyday - good - 3 pauses left

Well I actually met all challenges yesterday! Will try for a repeat today.

Jolly - Great job with your running! Funny how we can come up with so many excuses not to do something that we know we should do. Glad to hear common sense prevailed!

I know exactly what you mean about doing the weights for the results. I wish I liked them better but they're the one thing that I have to force myself to do.

Wondersha - Hope you're feeling better today! As for the exercise, when I first started exercising I had to force myself to do it and it wasn't easy at the size I was, but now I'm hooked. I can't say everyone will become hooked on working out, but many people do. You never know, you might be one too! Just start slow and easy, and don't add on too much too soon.

    Hi Red!
  • Day 5 no eating after 9:00pm 1 pause left
Day 6 no eating candy 1 pause left

have a great day ladies, I need to run around like a chicken with my head cut off and get my butt in gear before work...

  • Good morning all. Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. I am feeling good right now. When the dogs got me up, I went to the gym and did my workout while they were eating, then came home to start my day. At least I accomplished one thing before can'tgetbuttoffcouchitis sets in Also, I have found a help. I have fresh watermelon cut up in chunks at the front of my frig. Having that ready to munch on has kept me away from other things.

Yesterday, day 14 - daily posting, and day 4 follow menu and follow workout plan. All pauses still left.

3 months from today I start my cruise.

    Have a wonderful day all

I am thinking about adding a couple more challenges tomorrow.

OK. Thought about it. Decided to just do it. Tomorrow I will start the following two challenges:

    4) No soda

    5) Daily crunches and pushups. (I hate this one as much as weights, REd, but it will get me off the couch and moving at night)

    Have a great night all

Ok just a quick catch-up. Did good yesterday.

Jolly - I'm so jealous! The Bahamas! Never been there, but sounds wonderful.

    Red - Great job!

Wondersha - We learn as we go, so don't fret. You've been doing great!

  • Morning all. I just had to come in and report, I did my 3 miles this morning without any walking breaks. Hurray. And i had almost talked myself out of running again. But I did it!

I have never been to the Bahamas either, DJ. After going to Vegas for my step-brother's wedding, I discovered that a true vacation might be a good thing, vs. just taking stay at home mental health days. So my friend and I booked this short cruise.

Have a wonderful day all. I will check in tonight
  • Day 12 - Put fork/spoon down between each bite 90% of the time - good - 0 pauses left
Day 18 - Half of my dinner plate is filled with vegies which I will eat first - (this is dinner only) - good - 2 pauses left
    Day 17 - Exercise 30 minutes everyday - good - 3 pauses left

    Another good day!

Jolly - I think you'll have a wonderful time! A real vacation is a wonderful thing. We went to Hawaii a couple of years ago which was one of only a couple of "real" vacations in my life, and it was so nice. I can't wait until I can do it again!

    Have a great day all!
  • Hello Everyone! I'm off on a trip for two weeks myself. Heading Stateside! First time in six years. Wonder if they'll let me in...I plan to continue the crunch challenge. And I would like to keep a record of all food eaten, all things drunk and all expenses. How's that for an ambitious challenge while traveling? Still, I think if I don't I'll go hogwild, never a good thing. I'm not putting any limits on things. I just want to be able to look back and say, ha! no wonder you are the way you are now! I may not be able to get to a computer that often. Hold the fort without me! jolly, bon voyage! dj, Apple, wondersha, others, take care and good luck!
