emilymay -- Congrats on that loss! I'm not surprised you're losing on 2000 calories right now, but glad you're seeing the results. Exercise really does help!

My toe continues to improve. I still can't do cardio -- I hobble when I just walk -- but yesterday I did most of my weight workout and I DID feel better when I was done. Luckily I can just hobble between the machines...

Howdy Chicks!

Just a fly-by! Food was so-so this weekend but I wasn't feeling 100% so I'm giving myself a break. Tummy was acting up and the last thing I wanted in it was vegetables! I skipped the eliptical too on Sunday, but did get up and do it today...so far four of five days...pretty good for me. If I wasn't so beat after 10 minutes I'd be happier though. But at least I'm doing something which is a definate improvement!

Later chickies!

Hey gang! Happy Monday! Congrats on all who lost weight! YAY! WELL DONE!

I managed to lose two pounds last week and my goal is/was to be under 290 by Christmas, which means I'll have to lose 4 pounds this week, I'm going to stay on plan and do extra workouts, but that might be unattainable. We'll see, I'm keeping my spirits up!

I'm nervous about the holidays and what that will mean for my eating. I did really well over Thanksgiving so I know it CAN be done! I am hoping to push really hard at the gym this week and be ULTRA good on the days where outside situations will be at a minimal, that way I have room to be a little bad without blowing the whole thing.

One of the biggest obstacles that I managed to overcome deals with going off plan. In my previous "diet attempts" in the past, if I blew it even ONCE I would completely cave in and never go back. I have acknowledged and accepted the fact that I do this and that really helps. I know that if I go off it doesn't mean the whole thing is a bust, it just means that the rest of the day I try harder and do better the next! I can't punish myself anymore!

I hope my insight helped someone!

Wyllen: Thanks for the advice about upping my goals for exercise. I think you are right. I will keep them low until I have met them for a bit.

Sue: Good luck getting to work without much traffic problems.

Michelle: Lists always help that way you won't forget anything.

Erika: Great job staying the same and not gaining.

Emilymay: Congrats on -2

Toni: Congrats on your -2 also!

Hope everyone is well and blessed.
Blessings to you all,
Annie

I had a pretty bad weekend. My inner turmoil about the place/bf/etc. affected me worse than I had anticipated. In fact, I think there is another issue going on here but I can't identify it at this point. No exercise, extra ice cream and general sluggishness. Ugh. Thank goodness for Mondays.

At Thursday night's TOPS meeting, we discussed some strategies for staying on track during holiday parties and family dinners and such. Some of them I'd heard before, but some were kind of new, so I thought I'd share:
  • Use a smaller plate for your meal (dessert plate, salad plate, bread plate, anything smaller than the giant dinner plate)
  • Keep your hands busy--bring a craft or a crossword puzzle or something to write on...anything that will keep your hands full and not constantly reaching for food
  • Be a social butterfly! Talk to EVERYONE until they are sick of you
  • When filling up your plate at meals, purposely take foods you DON'T like--that way, there will be less space on your plate for the high-cal foods you will eat, plus, if someone offers you additional food, you won't seem rude by just saying no because you can just say you're so full you haven't even finished what's on your plate

Jilly, those are interesting tips! I had heard the "use a small plate" one, but not the others. Don't think being a social butterfly would help me though...I'd just eat and talk both! I like the "keep your hands busy" one. It's one of the reasons you tend to gain when you quit smoking...suddenly nothing to do with your hands and mouth. I may have to take some embroidery or something with me to the in-laws this weekend!

I like the tips!!

Nothing too much going on here.

Our friend got kicked out from her house today.

She's 18 and has a 2 month old little girl. Her mother told her that she had one day to find somewhere else to go because she couldn't stay there.

We have a second bedroom in our apartment and we let her move in. I hope this goes okay.

Nancy, I hope your life settles down soon. I know from experience how difficult it is when there's personal turmiol! Hang in there and remember we all care here at 3fc/

Congrats to all who are losing!

Welcome to all the new ones I've not had time to "meet" yet.

I've had several parties in the last week, and several more before the end of the year. I just posted a little bit more exercise time. I'm alomost to my first monthly goal for exercise. It's not a lot like most of you glirls, but it's a huge improvement for me.
Oh, I need to apologize now for my typing....I don't have my glasses on and I gotta hit the shower in a minute and get ready for work.

Sue, I'm so relieved you're safe. Hang in there, we're thinking of you! :jug"

Jill, I loved the tips! But, I can't do the social butterfly thing. It's too stressful for me. Especially if I don't know a lot of people there. My work party is fine. My husban'ds work party freaks me out!
Our in ofice partieS..... yes, PARTIES, are ok cuz I'm in my element there too.
Family things are high stress too.
I weigh in tomorow or Thursday....depending on when I get up early enough to go get blood work. I'm sure I'll see a gain, but I'm not freakin out about it.
I know I'm doing better than in years past and I'm on my beloved gazelle.
These are big nsv ......symbolic nsv at the very least. One little thing that's cool, I'm not dying after 10 minutes anymore. In a day or two more we're gonna move the resistance.
Ladies, I gotta get in hte shower and get ready to leave and check on Miss Abby again. Andy is staying home with her today cuz she's sick. Nasty head ache, sore throat, achy, fever....y'all know the drill,
Hiope you all have a safe and successful day.
Hugs.

Good morning ladies!

Congrats to all that have lost weight, and the NSv's!

Yesterday I went off plan, I think TOM is coming because I totally binged on all the chocolate up here at work. But then I got sick and learned my lesson so I'm back on track. Scale didn't budge, though, so I'm hoping it won't!

Things are crazy here as usual. Can't wait for this holiday to be over, and things to get back to "normal"!

Blessings!

Nancy: Hang in there

Jilly: Great ideas. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Erika: That is so sweet to let her move in with you. I hope it works out well for you.

Snady: Take it from someone who also doesn't move much. Going from zero to 100 is excellent. Congrats on getting to where you are right now.

Melissa: Good for you getting back on track after the small chocolate slip up.

Missing a bunch of you chickies. Hope you are all doing well and are just really busy getting ready for Christmas.
Blessings to you all,
Annie

Patti, I sent the maroon one back as it was more a 'posh' do, type of top & I never get anywhere posh or have anything to wear with it!!lol. Hope you enjoy your trip with hubby.xxxxx
Toni, WTG on getting portions AND perspective!! That's what we all need!!!!xxxxx
Jilly, I'm SO pleased the scales are going down AND that you are feeling 'in control'.xxxxxx

Sorry if I missed anyone, I need to sort the boys out & my dinner is getting cold. (stir-fry chicken, rice & veg with 5spice, mmm low fat, low calorie AND filling!)

Only 33 more minutes till I can leave the office...ooh, now 32 (but who's counting? ).

I really need to leave today...there is a huge platter of free bakery cookies in the break room (sugar cookies, M&M cookies, chocolate chip cookies...). I almost grabbed one. Almost. I stood next to the tray and held my hand over the platter. Then I looked at them for a second and could not tell by looking at them if they were crunchy or chewy. I would much prefer chewy, but I just couldn't tell. I didn't want to put my hands on a cookie to test the texture and then decide not to eat it, so I didn't take any at all. Not a single cookie. There were also some free sandiwches on pretzel bread (YUM!), but I avoided those by just eating my lunch instead. ARGH, why must things be so TEMPTING?! The other ladies in the office joke that free food doesn't have calories, but my bathroom scale begs to differ

Alright, now 29 minutes before I can leave the temptation behind. I will leave the office, go to Burlington Coat Factory (have to exchange a gift), and then go home to my leftovers for dinner in my cookie-less kitchen. Must...be...strong...

AH!! i am so tired! i have been up til 3:30 am the last 2 nights editing my final project for my film class. then yesterday i had to do makeup for a photoshoot because my friend wanted headshots, then for a taping we were doing here at work. i LOVE doing makeup. its so fun. but im EXHAUSTED!! i have to go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight because my last final is tomorrow and the test is gonna be HARD. its on the whole book. the book is only 90 pages, but there is a lot of technical information to go through. i really just want a nap. lol.

also, i have totally lagged on getting my christmas cards out. im so sorry! thanks to all the ladies for all your lovely holiday wishes, and to zelma for your package!! i totally collect flip flop stuff. in fact thats all i wore for about a year, which is why i have a stress fracture in my foot now. fun. at any rate. that was so sweet of you.

Jill - i had one of the cookies. they were totally stale

annie - congrats on your NSV. i know how excited you must be for your hubby to notice your hard work!

nancy - you are allowed a bad weekend. just dont let it turn into a bad week... i really hate those moments where you know you have to figure something out, but you dont know exactly what it is you have to figure out.

my NSV's for this week - finishing my Pink Floyd paper, Finishing editing my movie, and remembering to come post here

Jilly - You GO girl!!! Avoid those nasty, stale cookies! After all, if it tasted good, they wouldn't be giving it away!

Sharon - I bet you looked sexy as can be in your corset-top! With a jacket, I'd definately wear something like that - but then unless it squished the spare-tire UP and into the bra area, I'd have nothing to show off! It took me a minute to remember when I'd mentioned how big my hips are! The late-medieval style dresses hide a lot of flaws and I used to love Elizabethan, but I never needed a bum-roll to make my skirts stand out - they were built-in on me! Yep, Lilion has a BIG booty - but it's 9" smaller than it used to be!
