Hi ladies and Happy APRIL Fools Day!

Can you believe this is the first of the month? A new month already upon us. The time is going way too fast for me. Hope it goes this fast when Josh goes to Iraq. I feel like my life is just passing me by though. Guess it is one of those days where I have nothing to do but think and I need to stop it!

SUSAN...I'm here. You guys have just been so busy posting since I posted yesterday! And you are NOT fat Missy! If ya wanna see fat, I'll post a picture! Hope you get some moola from Mike soon so Miss Gaby can have her bubble bath. Crafts...no, not really. I don't really do crafts. I have made a wreath or 2 in my time and do a little bit of scrapbooking once in a great while but don't really consider myself a crafty person.

ELLEN...one day I hope to say I have been in the same house for years. But honestly, I never know what's going to happen. Really didn't plan on moving from here until we found out they plan on building something behind us, eventually that is. We kind of like our view and no one being behind us, makes our yard look and feel so much bigger, lol.

JANE...hope none of your clothes got wet. You guys will be in your new home soon enough and no more leaks!

JULES...more (((((HUGS))))) for your DD. I can only imagine how hard it is for her going through a divorce. And...a very HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to your DS! Have a great lunch today with your family!

GINNY...sorry, can't help ya with the colonoscopy, not had one yet. Hope you have a GREAT weekend planning the wedding with the kids! How fun that will be, or I think it would be anyway. Can't wait until my DD gets married to help with hers.

ANGIE...no plans for me this weekend. V is working today so a boring day for me. Just catching up on laundry today and some reading. Tomorrow V and I are going to go check out some open houses. Maybe get some ideas on stuff. Also, go see the new house again. That is...if it doesn't rain. Supposed to get some severe weather this afternoon into tomorrow. So we will see.

KATY...we too moved a lot growing up. And then when DH#1 was killed I moved the kids around a lot because I couldn't figure out where I wanted to be. Felt kind of lost, like I really didn't belong anywhere and I do regret that. I wasn't really thinking of the kids when I did it and that's what I regret. And now...I am at the point that I am sick of moving. So I am really hoping the next house we stay there for a while.

SUE...here's to your house going up fast! Hope you have a nice lunch with your friends today. And have fun shopping!

Hi to everyone else

As I told Angie...nothing really going on with me. Just a little bored so thought I would play around on the 'puter. Although, I think I am ready to get off-not really into it today. Waiting for clothes to dry so I can fold them and that is about it for me today. Going to do some reading, how exciting. Anyway...may check back again later when I get bored again.

Have a good one ladies whatever you do!

APRIL FOOLS DAY
GOOD WHAT THE HECK TIME IS IT ANYWAYS...Another nice day, the sun isn't shining to bright but the air smells and feels wonderful,I think spring has finally sprung. What exactly do you do on April Fools Day, I looked in the mirror this morning and I swore I was 25 and 100lbs and as I was basking in the glory ,when the mirror swore at me APRIL FOOLS DAY. I wasn't at all amused so I went back to bed. I woke up the second time , yep there I was in all my glory still 51 and still 135 lbs.
HI ANGIE....
You and I have some strange coincidences, about 7 years ago I got up around 1 am to let my kitty
cat Bijou in, and went back to bed about an hour later I smelled gas , it was strong and filled up the house, I panicked woke the kids up,grabbed the pets my golden retriever Aria was such a protective soul , she always waited at the top of the stairs with her snout between the spindles, till I told her it was safe to come down now thats a watch dog. anyway I sat them on the bench outside , while I went in for a closer look, yes I was a brave soul, or stupid I went around the house and came back outside and the smell got stronger as I got closer to BIJOU Yes it was moi kitty cat sprayed by a skunk, so I loaded up the tub with tomato juice and sent the kids to bed and spent the next few hours bathing poor kitty. Thats one story, now last week when my daughter and I were out doing the yard work , I came in sometime around 4pm and the house was hazy I thought that someone was burning leaves out yonder and the smoke was coming into the house via the patio doors. I went upstairs same thing, downstairs same thing, I proceeded to the basement and a wall of heat hit me in the face and the furnace was making some mighty strange noises, so I ran upstairs turned the furnace off and its been off ever since. I am to afraid to turn it on so until I get someone down to check it out , it will stay that way. The house gets a little chilly sometimes at night but I really don't mind it because I am one who always sleeps with the window open, even in winter sometimes , just a crack ,so its fine . I just got an early start on saving on my heating bills this year Did I ever mention that my future SON -IN-LAW is also volunteer firefighter .sometiimes he will just get in from work and the fire pager goes off and he's off and running all hours of the night. Unfortualtly I am not in his area, but he will come if I need him , so he says anyways He's a sweet boy. Angie you have to go to bed with your armour on, you know like a boyscout is always prepared I hope you are having a great day.

HI SUSAN...I have the same problem ,but I had marshmallow snowballs, but only a few, cheesecake is my weakness. drives you crazy doesn't it, I refused to buy new clothes in my present state , but I had to give in and get a few things Oh well I am determined to get it off, I am really Come on Susan we can do it. OH I do apologize for including you into my insanity ,of course your not disfunctional You know I'm kidding right Ahh to bad you had to postpone your trip to Hawaii , well at least Rocky's coming to see you.Ummm beer and nyquil missy

HI SUE...Once the house starts rolling ,it will be no time till your moving in, what a happy day that will be I didn't like the electrical and plumbing portion of the process, when our house was built 17 years ago, but once that was finished everything seemed to move pretty quick , once the finishing touches start it gets really exciting. The house I moved into now is a semi detatched, and it was new when I bought it, but had many things to finish inside which suited me fine, so I saved a bit of money on the purchase price, but not in the end result, Umm except I am still working on that good luck with your bed linens , and enjoy your lunch.

HI GINNY....LOVE THAT.... BROADS WE ARE I love looking around for clipart sites , its kind of my computer passion I am happy I can make you laugh .MMMMMMM swedish pancakes, are they better than Aunt Jemimah's I won't tell I hope you have a lovely breakfast and day. Happy Wedding Shopping.

HI CRISTI... I can't recall if I knew what they were building behind you. I know your house will sell, but the house you are in now is beautiful would you be terribly dissappointed if it didn't. I had some proposals sent to me from the city about the sale of some property on the corner down the street from me , in my veiw about putting some low rise apartments, and I was panicked about it. Its a busy street , but still all residential and everyone here was up in arms because a good portion of this area except for a few older homes is new construction. I thought many times about selling before any ground was broke ,but honestly I love my property its 300 ft long and my nearest neighbour behind me is far away, my neighbours on one side of course is attatched to me separated by a fence and the other side there is a bit of distance ,but they are a sweet older couple who have lived here for over 50 years when this was all still farm land. That is one of the few older homes here ,but the property is beautiful and they keep it that way. I came to the conclusion that there will always be something that irritates us, and selling doesn't always imply profit. I know I would never get back what I put into this house. I also find people are more forgiving about the surroundings around there homes than they used to be at least they are here , possibly because of the land shortage for new home construction. If you were always planning to sell , then profit wise its probably a good move, as for me I am happy here in my little dwelling unless something major changes in my life. If selling is what you want you should do it with great excitement and it will happen , all I was trying to say is
I LIKE THE HOUSE YOU LIVE IN NOWWhy does it take so long for me to get to the point

HI JULES...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DS. WOW 21!!! can anyone remember that far back, I was already married and had my son. Can you imagine our kids married with babies at 21, I sure can't. we raise our kids the best we know how and pray that its enough , we can't make their choices for them , no matter how hard we try all we can do is hope they make the right ones, and if somewhere along the way they faulter, hopefully they have the tools to make it right.I hope you all have a wonderful time on this special day.

HI TO EVERYONE ELSE JANE, MINDEE, MARTI,did I forget anyone??? I will be back possibly later but its almost 4 and I haven't eaten yet, only coffee so far so I will check in later . Have a

Hi again ladies,
Back from a day of shopping. Went with the girls out of town this morning and had no intentions of buying anything, well with all the sales on I bought myself two nice bras (needed them badly) and two tops, oh yes and two cute little pairs of earrings. The bras and earrings were buy one and get the second one for half price. The earrings and tops got an additional 15% discount for using store credit card. And I got got 3 outfits for my dgs who will be 2 in June, and an outfit for dgs who will be 6 in May. Figured while they were on sale, I'd get them as long as I was in town.. I don't get to go shopping there very often especially this time of year. So I did good. Then we went to a chinese place for lunch. I did good, only one plate full. It's an all you can eat buffet.

Then when I got home I had to go back into Wally World and get my groceries. Got them all put away and a pot roast cooking in the oven for supper. So now I can take a break.

I have another firetruck story. 20 yrs ago my fil woke up from an afternoon nap and went outside to watch a man who had come to change his tractor tire. He suddenly keeled over and was gone. An ambulance was called,(that is another whole story, we had a party line on our business phone at the time and the other party would not get off the phone) anyway when the call went out, neighbors who also have a greenhouse business heard on the scanner about the 911 call and they grabbed shovels and hurried over to help, thinking we had a fire at the greenhouse. Well, it worked out well, because they ended up taking 4 of our children to their house so we could go to the hospital with mil, following the ambulance. He didn't make it... but that just sets the story up.. so hang on... now about 5 years later, we are out of town and a fire actually breaks out in the greenhouse. A retired fireman is driving down the highway and sees the smokes, He drives over to our place, bangs on mil's door, she lived close by at time, but she had no clue what was going on. He phoned 911. In the meantime, we arrive back home, seeing the smoke from the highway also as we are driving up, we hurry up the driveway and my dh rushes into the nearest greenhouse through all the black smoke, going for the hose. The retired fireman is yelling at him, to come back, the smoke could be dangerous, the fumes from the burning plastic etc. but dh keeps going. Ok, now the firetruck arrives. They rush out and pull out their hoses, then they discover that after their last fire run, they had forgotten to fill up the water tank. So they had no water. Well, don't worry, there is a rather large pond just across the road, they can pump up the water and spray it on the burning greenhouse. Ok, so where's the pump? You guessed it, they had also forgotten to bring the pump. So they call for a backup truck. In the meantime, dh finds the hose amidst all the smoke, all those nights of checking things over in the dark paid off. He gets the fire put out. He comes out of the greenhouse, sees the firemen all standing around. AFter a few more minutes the back up truck arrives. They had nothing left to do, except tell my dh he was endangering himself by running inside like that. WEll, if he hadn't we could have lost everything. And he knew the fumes weren't that bad, sometimes they had burned old plastic to get rid of it.. so he knew what he was doing. Anyway, we were not to happy with the local fire department.. if we hadn't arrived when we did, there would have been a lot more damage. We were lucky, only one door and wall had gotten burned, it was more between houses than in them. and not one single neighbor showed up. So everytime I see them rushing off to a fire, I always think,, hope they have water in the tank..

Ok. well I guess I better do some of paper work. Have to get it done before I go back on Monday. But wanted to check in here.

You gals are talking about showing pictures of your new houses, where do we go to see them?

I also have to get my ride in sometime today. Hope I can stay awake long enough this evening to ride at least 5 miles.

Someone needs to to tie me to a chair to keep me out of the kids' Cheetos....they are taunting me, the little buggers!

Sue - can't wait to see some progress pix of your house ( you, too, Jane!). It seemed that things happened pretty fast after the foundation on our project as well. Now we are on the drywall phase and it's going slow - mostly because its DIY and my DH works on it around his regular work hours. I am grateful for all the work he is putting in on this; it is saving us so much money and he is doing a good job. I can accept the slow pace.

Susan - I really would recommend knitting as a therapeutic activity. I call it my Zen. I think it is one of the reasons I have been able to stay somewhat sane with all the remodeling craziness going on around me. As for learning, I know people who have learned from Knitting for Dummies. I learned from a book called Knitting in Plain English, by Maggie Righietti. There is also a website site called www.knittinghelp.com that has videos of how to do practically everything.

Ginny - we are adding on to our house. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rosiekate37/my_photos You can see some of the progress here. Now the sides are pretty much all shingled, and two rooms are drywalled inside. Jane's whole house has been built in about half the time. sigh.

Angie - your plaque made me laugh - needs to be on a T-shirt. You have big kids like me. I wonder if my James will be a big guy like Brandon. The men in David's family are all of average height and build. The guys in my family are 6 feet tall and over 200. Some more over than others, lol. James was a 10 lb baby and could be on track to take after my side of the family.

Hi Ellen - you said cheesecake - hush your mouth, lol! I would love a piece of cheesecake - to go with the cheetos of course. I am just a'craving all the bad stuff today. I walked for about 5 miles all told today, so I probably worked up an appetite or something.

Cristina - boredom is ok - at least you aren't showing the house today, right? Hope you and V find some good prospects when you check out the open houses. How long is your contingency on the other one? You may not be crafty, but you do have great taste in decorating - I always like the pictures you post of the latest room you've worked on.

Jules - Happy Birthday to DS! I'm glad your DD is feeling better. I have been battling some insomnia and I can tell how easy it would be to fall into a depression over it. I have young children and lack of sleep is a reality and insomnia just twists the knife, kwim? I always said that I could handle anything these kids throw at me as long as I'm not sleep-deprived - it really sucks all the joy of life right out of me. If I were also dealing with some some major changes in my life to boot, I think it would be hard to avoid depression. I'm glad she caught up on her sleep and that things feel better to her. I hope she can continue with the counseling, as you propose.

My day has filled up fast - and I still haven't cleaned the bathroom. Need to do that SOON (PU) DH is working a track meet all day today. Kids and I went to the mall to get my son Lego Star Wars for his Gameboy. Managed to stay away from the other shops and came away only with what we went there to get - Hooray! Then we went to the library and checked out a pile of books. Now we are just hanging out; I'm doing just about everything except what I need to do and that is clean this house. Happy Saturday!

Happy April Fools Day!!

DH & I just got back from dinner out. We had our first date on April Fools Day & that should have been an omen. It set the tone for our marriage!! So we celebrate it along with our wedding anniv.

Ginny - I had a colonoscopy about 5 years ago. The worst part is drinking the stuff the day before to "clean you out". It works fast & VERY thououghly. The procedure itself isn't bad. I was in "la-la land" and even though they told me I wasn't going to be "put out" I was totally unaware of what was going on. I didn't feel it was a big deal & it's a necessary test for lots of people. Of course when DH had it done he was convinced that no one in the entire world had it as bad as he did. (Men are such babies!)

Keep your fingers crossed I finally see the back specialist next Fri. I've been waiting 3 months for this appointment. We'll see what he says - surgery or not.

I've posted a couple of times lately but when I go to send it tells me that I "may not" send & a bunch of other stuff. Also I get the "oops" message even though I updated my signature. Don't know what's up.

Hope everyone is doing well - I'll post again later.

You know the more I look at that question I realize how stupid it is what can I say. Hi Connie we haven't met but I am sure you can already tell how many bricks short of a load I am but nice to meet you anyways. I think something is amiss in the computer world today, all kinds of strange things seem to be happening. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Ummmm are you sure you are actually married I don't know what happened to your back , but good luck with your appointment and I hope you won't need surgery Hi Katy.... I looked at that knitting link you put up and there was one blanket I think it was called Emporium something , oh that doesn't sound right, I will have to go back and find it , anyways it was absolutely beautiful, it was white that much I remember, the mind is going as fast as the body Cheesecake is my absolute weakness, I know I have been fighting cravings all day I don't know why, but fortunatly I have nothing bad in the house today,PHEW Katy I was looking down the list of names and I had to scroll back because I thought you called someone dummy so I had to see if you were referring to me I don't have a complex I realized it was knitting for dummies and thats where I come in very nice addition , love the big doors.HI GINNY ...WOW thats quite a fire story for the books isn't it I will have to tell my Future-Son-In-Law / volunteer firefighter that story and I to will never look at fire trucks the same way. Two bras's, two tops, two pairs of earings, thats pretty darn good for a days shopping. So you had one plate at an all you can eat buffet to huh , but did you have two helpings of everything as well just teasing Susan where are you , I would like to harass you right now if I may Please Where is everyone, its lonely here sitting all alone OK maybe later then, hope your all having fun without me.

Good evening all,

Yes, Ellen I had two of everything on the buffet, I didn't say how big the plate was now did I? And yes my computer has our posts really large too. Maybe it is an April's fool day joke on us, hope so, it's a pain to have to keep moving the screen back and forth to read them.

Katy, very interesting pictures, thanks for sharing. Don't you just love the smell of new wood and new rooms. I do.. I think I might be happy even if we just added on a room or something... as it is, we have redone most of the rooms in our house. We still have to finish the basement. When we bought this house it had 3 bedrooms, then with all the kids we changed other rooms into bedrooms so we had 6 bedrooms, now we are back to 3 upstairs and one in basement. The ones on the main floor have become a tv room, a den and an office. We just change the function of our rooms, but never built an extra one.

Well, I didn't ride my bike today, I have been bad. Instead my ds#1 and his girlfriend invited us and ds#5 and his fiance out to a movie. We saw Failure to Launch. It was really cute. Lots of laughs. Now dh is watching tv, we get Showtime free this weekend on our satelitte. So I figured I would check in. I could have gone up to ride but I am tired, I will ride an extra couple miles tomorrow. I also had some popcorn at the movies.. but Ellen I only had two kernels....

Connie, thanks that is what I've heard from others too. My guestion is did you lose any weight getting cleaned out so good? It's like a fresh start?

One of you said you had a haze in the house and thought it was a fire.. reminds me when the kids were younger we used to have a wood furnace. One morning we got up and dh went down to get the fire going while I got the 3 older ones up and ready for school. I heard him rattling the grates and poking around the furnace, then I heard him chopping wood outside. Then I smelled smoke. I knocked on the window and told him it was getting smokey in the house, did he open the draft downstairs. He yells back, oh I think I forgot to close the furnace door, run down and check. The 3 boys were just getting on the bus, so I ran downstairs to check the furnace. Well he left the door open and the fire had caught really well, as I got down the steps I heard a loud crackling and I hadn't even gotten to the furnace room yet. There were flames shooting out of the wall between the furnace room and the room at the bottom of the stairs. I ran back upstairs, yelled at dh told him the wall was on fire down there, he ran into the basement, I ran upstairs to get the two little guys up and out of the house. They were 3 and and infant. Grabbed the baby, dragged the poor 3 yr.old down the stairs, threw on his coat and took them outside. Dh had called the fire dept. As I huddled outside with my two little guys and watched flames shoot out my chimney, I thought about how many times I said I hated my house.. at that moment I regreted saying it, because it looked like it may be going up in flames. The fire dept. got there in very short time. Lots of extra cars with volunteers also showed up and they had it out in no time.. The only real damage besides the chimney and a the basement wall, was smoke and water damage. I was very grateful for the fire dept that day.

Ok I don't have any more stories for now. Think I'll head up to bed. I am cold and tired. Tomorrow I have to get my book work done. All I did today was shop and goof off.. but it felt good.

Ok, ladies, have a good night all of you and catch ya all on the flip side.

Katy, Same here, Monte's family are all of average height and weight. And then my side is huge, my grandfather was well over 6 foot, size 13 feet, all my uncles are 6 feet, my brothers are all huge. And so are my boys. I have a couple of cousins who have boys that aren't as big so i figure they are taking after the other side of families.

Ginny, girl you have had alot of run ins with the fire dept. I would of been just shocked if I had to deal with when they didn't fill the tank up. When had they last used that truck?

Ellen, you crack me up,,,Susan where are you Ellen wants to harrass you!

well off to bed I go,,,
Don't forget to turn your clocks forward....at least thats what Becky says.
