Default Hey

Meme- I have osteo in my knees (replacement in one and the other waiting till I can't stand it). In my shoulders back and most all my joints. The dr, says my entire body. and sometimes I believe him.
I like Mel Gibson because he looks and acts like my son. Sean Connery. and Tom Selleck( the malboro man) Don Johnson ,Kevin Costner, and of course Clint Eastwood. Now I am just a young old lady. And I don't tell my husband any of my thoughts. It just gets me in trouble. The men just get jealous.
Bye for now. ...Joanne

Default Good Morning

I have my laptop in my lap to save on my back! Seems like a good idea.A little whining-when I first came down with fibro in my 40's ,I was getting a divorce, working full time, going to school and carrying heavy equipment-dr. said that precipitated it-I know I already had it -even had growing pains as a child and was taken to the drs.-anyhow I could hardly walk and it took 2 years to get it under control-my pain now is nothing like that.I did nothing but work and take care of my 3 children. When I was a child I was physically abused-that would be an interesting poll-it used to remind me of that.So I have learned that a balanced life is important.I am getting osteo but not too bad.My mother had severe rheumatid and that was BAD. I'm sure I have the predisposition for all of this. I wonder about my daughter!
On a lighter side-my wonderful Japanese friends invited me to dinner last night.Japanese dumplings and Japanese pizza.I always mess up my weigh in which is today. But yesterday-I was down another pound. Well-here goes my taking care of my body week. Have a great day everyone.Mima

Default Good Evening

Hope you all had a wonderful day. It is about 90 here and it is hot, but it feels soooo good. No humidity, however, it does look like a storm might be brewing. The is Tornado weather and I hope I never see one, but they certainly are around.

I am tired today. Went to the Chiro this morning and my back is feeling better. I can't believe that since I started these treatments at how much better I am sleeping. Haven't had an Elavil for 21/2 weeks or longer. Also, stopped taking the meds for the hiatal hernia. Dr. said I could try it and see how it goes, and it seems to be fine.

After I finished with the Chiro, had to run into the city on my way home and pay some bills and get a few groceries. You will all be pleased to know that I AM trying to be good. It is just that all this food gets in my way

Mima - I think physical or verbal abuse could cause enough stress when you are young to throw your body into this hellish place. I can't say I was ever abused however. I also never had FM as a child, and many do.

Joanne, I also have O/A in my back, hip and knees. My knees were the last to be hit. Wish they could replace my back!

Meme - The Hunks - I really like Mel Gibson as well as quite a few of the other fellows. Good work bringing them to us. I will, however, keep my hubby.

Well ladies, have a nice evening.

Meme.............I posted your page on another site and this is what someone said:

"About the website with the hunks......it's an awesome site....with lots of wonderful graphics and animations. Whoever Meme is.....she's very gifted and I love the fact that she has religious links options on there as well. It's time for me to update my webpage. I'm definitely going to use some of her graphics and put a link to her page on my page. "

That should make you smile

Default Good Morning

Good Morning All You Good People- Another day and I wonder what is in store for me today. Yesterday I recieved another sign of getting older. I have been bothered with my eyesight for sometime ,so in May I got new glasses. Still having a problem I went to another OD and had an really good exam. Result Cataracts in both eyes. The thing is they are in the inbetween stage and not bad enough for surgery yet. So one more thing to put up with. I guess I just joined the masses.
I have been keepng pretty much to my diet. I hid the nuts in my husbands office. He is yelling to lets go shop now so I have to cut this short.
Back Later....Joanne

Candice...thanks for the advertising...how much do I owe you??? Don't know about being gifted, though. I just put together a Hot Wheel race track for the kids and it took me over an hour Guess I'm just not mechanically minded!!! But...keep in mind that I had lots of help from a 2 yr. old and a 4 yr. old...the 2 yr. old especially liked "helping" with the stickers!!! Pretty yard and flowers...how in the world do you keep it all up at your age???

Anne I'll check out the web site after I get the Rug Rats fed and in the bed...I NEED A BREAK!!!

Hey Joanne...what good does it do to hide something when you know where it is???

Mima...WTG on the weight loss....I wish I was that close! I lost 5 lbs. last week...only 45 more to go!

The Rheumatologist I went to see at Nashville yesterday opted to just "put a bandaid" on my pain! He said he thought getting off the Methotrexate back the first of the year is what has made me so much worse. He wants me to keep taking it (I started back 5 weeks ago) for another 2 months and see if I get to feeling better. He gave me a "high powered" (his words) steroid shot...said it should last about a month! So...onward to diet land for me! All I've had so far today is a Soy SlimFast shake. Gotta go eat some rice (my lunch!).

Default cataracts etc.

I,too, just found out I have cataracts in both eyes, early stage. Tha eye doctor said to take 500 units of vitamin c daily to keep them from growing but I already do that and I still got them-my mother and grandmother had them-at least they have easy surgery now.
I told the rheumatologist about the upper cervical procedure and he was concerned about that particular spot being manipulated and paralysis. He also didn't particularly like my neck being cracked. But he did give me a prescrition to only take for two weeks each season for the beginning osteoporosis-I told you he knew his medicines. And he gave me a shot in my han right below my crooked from osteo index finger. He has a son with spina bifida so we talked a bit about him and my grandaughter.
Well-my hair has too much red in it after I got it frosted but I will have to live with that. Toodles,Mima

Anybody ever hear of Embrel or Plaquenil? Those are 2 medicines the Rheumatolotist said he may try if I'm not better in 2 months.

Default Hey

Hello==Plaquenil is a Malarial medication( may bind and alter the propertiesof DNA) occordinding to my drug manuel. Embrel is a new one on me . You can find it in the net. I hid the nuts in my husbands office because he is supposed to put them away so I don't see them and be tempted to eat them. Or he may find some empty containers. You know a little bit here and there.
Hello Mema -Candice - You have to be as busy as me and keeping your flowers so nice too. Happy Canuk. Hello Nice site. I feel the message can apply in most cases.
Bye Joanne

Hi Guys. Hot in NY today but will be closer to 60 tomorrow. Yea. My thighs are permanently stuck together.

I am a reality TV addict. Gotta go watch Big Brother. I even have my son watching it cause they women are younger, prettier and have nicer bods this time around.

Happy...do you still talk to Tootie? How is she?

Candice...I have brain fog today....couldn't read everything, so NOW I know what you are talking about when we post a lot.

Default Good Morning!

I took plaquenel
for a while but it gave me stomache cramps so I had to stop taking it. Didn't have a chance to work. Everything seems to give me cramps-lipitor also.So I am on a low dose of prednisone-probably not the best choice.
Dentist today. I am blonde again but it is too brassy.I am supposed to walk with my aunt today and got to lunch but we're supposed to have more storms.I hope the timing will be ok because I need to walk. We have a nice ritual in this condo bldg. When we have storms, we congregate in the unit across the hall .That has helped me adjust more. I lived in my own home for 27 years so I have a lot to get used to here. I did send a note to the perdon over my head and ask her to not vacuum after 8 at night-that seems reasonable-and to turn down the stereo. It's been nice and quiet ever since.I have the only family in the building over my head. I have to say that I don't miss all the work I did to take care of an 8 room house with 2 decks and a pool.
My oldest son e-mailed me and said he was really looking forward to my visit. Thatmade me feel so good!!!
Have a great day everyone. Mima
